    Good day, Norrathians!

From 20th Anniversary in March to now, it’s been a blur!

Thanks to the communities on all servers for a great year so far, and a big welcome to the communities that have formed on Selo and Mangler. All aboard, me hearties, on this incredible journey!

We thought we’d take a minute to update you on a few things that are immediately on the horizon!

    Expansion Morsels

While it’s REALLY early to be chatting about expansions, we thought we’d let you know that you may want to level up your characters to max. We will be adding 5 levels for characters this year!

There’s plenty to talk about, but we’re going to wait until the fall to get into the details. Still, can’t hurt to get ahead of the game, as it were.

We’ll let you know the expansion lore and location at a later date, but it will be unfamiliarly familiar. [editor's note: :eyeroll:]

    Getting Together

We are still working on planning a fan event (now probably next year to give EverQuest and EverQuest II fans and guilds time to prepare and plan). We’ll have some questions to ask the community about who might be interested in joining us for a weekend fan event, focused on the them, with Q&As, roundtables, and activities for gamers and roleplayers. Fun stuff!

We’ll start rolling out some questions and surveys as we move forward!

Expansion should be Dwarf themed, it will be be old enough to drink!

Was hoping to see something about Necromancer/SK dot updates. This was promised to players more than 4 years ago. Is the dot update still in the works or has it been scrapped?

They have to have enough time free to plan to do it, they lack time
  8. Beergoggles Elder

Well when you promise something to a community you make time. DBG did the other class updates so is "time" really the issue?

Read it as Expansion Morrells. Sporali playable race confirmed.

Shocked its level increase already but being a level increase there are games to be played with just the level 111-115 dots for sk's and necros. That gets the juggling within reason while also removing all the workload from 1-110 for 3 ranks in most cases.

Thank you for sharing the update, particularly around the level increase. This certainly helps with planning!

Since when do necros need a dot update?
  13. Brohg Augur

The other classes' dots are a small subset of their abilities. Fixing necrodots is, at least "possibly" and I think "probably", a functional rebuild of the necromancer class. That's quite a substantial undertaking. One I think should have and still should happen. But it's substantial.

Even the least ambitious version of "just" consolidating each dot line would be double the work of all the so-far revamped classes put together.
  14. Yinla Ye Ol' Dragon

Easiest solution would be to fix revamp them from 111 onwards. We are due a level increase and in my opinion now would be an ideal opertunity to fix the class & epic once and for all.
  15. Brohg Augur

Indeed, no time like the present. Except that they're probably also thinking about 15 other classes and a world's worth of content for all 16 classes to play in
  16. Yinla Ye Ol' Dragon

They are going to be making X number of new spells for necros anyway, just cap the epic at level 110, make it so they spells don't work with previous line of spells and up the damage to compensate from not being able to stack dots as much and the removal of the epic focus. Though I have no idea how much extra work it would be to rebalance 5 levels of spells as apposed to just adding 5 levels of spells and adding X amount of damage to previous ones.

But I would have thought it would be far easier to balance/fix with beta input than trying to do it without and rebalancing all levels of spells at a later date. A little extra work now would surely save a whole heap of time later.

Female logic maybe flawed at times. :)

    This word is the problem

    Oh god :(
So nothing new just cut&past of existing spells & abilities and all the gear we just busted our to get will be left in the dust be new items.
Players will get 0.000001% more powerful while NPCs will get 100000%

Necros may get something at some point but SKs will never get anything while the paladin propaganda machine is active.

Apparently SKs can solo entire TBL raids, with both hands tied behind their backs, hopping on one leg and blindfolded. And their pets are off in another zone soloing another raid.

I honestly almost fell out of my chair when I saw the comment about SK pets soloing TBL names... /boggle

We all bow before the greatness of the SK pet.
