The cert has been revoked. All he needs to do is get a new cert... and the problem goes away. It works just fine over http instead of https. There is no "repairing" the cert, just replacing it with a valid one.

Wait, wouldnt that imply that gina is communicating with Gimagukk whenever I use it, and not just for sharing? I cant imagine a legitimate need for that.

You can already use it as a standalone program... It's the SHARING part that requires their server, and there is no easy way around that.

    You can ?
It doesn't install as a regular program, it's buried in some weird folder structure 27 levels down under windows.

If I can just drop it into a folder somewhere else and have it work that would be great :)

It's sad how many 3rd party EQ sites are going dead or inactive. Over the years I've paid most of them at least a token subscription or donation as a form of thanks.

That's just the Microsoft ClickOnce installs. That's how they install.

That's due to how the ClickOnce installer works. It installs within your user profile to avoid any permission issues with Program Files that non-admin users might run into. ClickOnce also allows for automatic updates. Whenever you run from the .appref-ms file, it checks for any new versions from the server and then runs the latest version of the .exe installed similar to how the LaunchPad.exe and eqgame.exe work for EverQuest.

You can find the .exe file down under %LocalAppData%\Apps\2.0\. Dig around until you find the folder with GINA.exe. You may have multiple from various updates... sort for the most recent. You'll need to copy the entire folder, as there are dlls included there that it'll need to run.

None of that would require it to be placed in some random numbered folder buried within your user folder without the ability to right-click the run link and "open folder location" like a normal program.

But Microsoft decided to make ClickOnce this way. I hate ClickOnce.

    Thanks, got that working.
Only minor issue is it pops up saying 'this application cannot be updated' when it's run, but that's no big deal.
I'll keep running the 'normal' installation but it's good to know it will run standalone.

    Yes, it's fixed.

Ok, then forget the guide I spent time creating.

If they have fixed something with the certificate being revoked, it seems that it is back as an issue. I keep trying different Windows setting changes to no avail. It currently doesn't work with Windows 10 for me.

https://eq.gimasoft.com/GINAServices/Package.svc seems to be fine here at this time.

SSL Sever Certificate for "gimasoft.com" is valid and issued by Let's Encrypt Authority X3. Valid from March 30, 2019 to June 28, 2019.

Let's Encrypt only issues certificates for three months at a time. Most of the time it will auto update when needed. I assume they do only three months at a time so that if something is compromised it will expire and not be a threat for a long period of time.
