Can you do something about bazaar resellers? Thank You.

How is buying something for a value that someone else set, and then reselling it for a now higher price that you set cheating?
Its a free market, a player can sell things for as much or as little as they want. The purchasers then cause the price to stay the same, go lower or go higher depending on how quickly they purchase that item at a given price.

im happy when stuff I sell cheap gets resold, it gets rid of my worthless (to me) junk to make room for more (worthless to me) junk

I am happy I made a few plat. the purchaser is happy he just bought something that he's going to resell for at a profit for very little effort. and the end buyer is happy that he was able to find an item he was looking for its a win win win.

the market will bear what buyers are willing to purchase, if you are unhappy that you could have received more for your items sell them for more.

The correct way to fight resellers is to undercut them. If they put 100 bars of conflagrant ore up for 80k each, you put 10 up for 40k each. If he buys you out and reprices it then you put 10 more up for sale. Keep doing that and he can never sell his because you will always have ore up for less. Just have to keep farming the ore to keep ahead of him. Eventually either he runs out of money to buy you out or you become a rich orc and stop caring about it so much.

Can you please do something about people who get groups and go out and kill stuff. That's really detrimental to the game

I'm hoping/guessing that the original poster was referring to those automated characters that will zip zoom go buy your stuff if you put desirable items up for sale for under whatever their threshold is set for; I stopped even trying to sell stuff because of those bots.

Then raise the price. As long as you undercut them, even if it's only by 1%, you're in good shape. FFS, does anyone understand how basic economics works?

Long time ago, on Drinal, we had one of them, and what happened was a buddy of mine did exactly what svann said. Undercut him, he would buy the stuff, put up more, he would buy it. And before long he was bankrupt. But if he's paying the price that you are asking, then I don't see why you are not happy with that.

That's not the point. I'm trying to make goods available for folks at a reasonable price. My incentive is gone when these bots that gobble up everything automatically. I don't need platinum, but giving away stuff for free takes a long time, so I used to sell it for low prices.

If people buy my stuff to resell I just farm it again and sell it again. I don't care who buys my stuff

Maybe learn how rl works. If i can make money by buying some stuff and then resell it, i would be stupid not doing so.

One person reselling an item once in awhile is not the problem. It’s the multimillionaire player buying anything of value and setting a larger price thereby controlling the entire bazaar. People can scream free market until their blue in the face but it’s still so unethical it’s illegal in the regular economy. I want to sell people items cheaply that can use them, not sell cheaply to someone who will mark up 300%.

You need to take a freshman economics class. Also its not illegal to do what you're saying. Go read stories of people buying clearance items at walmart, target, kmart etc then reselling the items on amazon for a profit its a multibillion dollar business.

Buy low sell high thats how the stock market works thats how the greatest economy ever created works.

Do you realize everything you buy is marked up drastically. You think it cost apple $1k to make an Iphone ? or Samsung $2500 to make that TV ? How about your ISP you think it cost them $50 a month to offer your internet service ? You ever buy a soda/pop at a restaurant you think it cost them $3 ? No it cost them 10 cents and they sell it to you for $3.

No it isnt. About the only time it is illegal is selling bottled water for $100 after a hurricane spoils the tap water. Normal goods in normal circumstances is all fine.
  19. Laronk Augur

It's only illegal if there's a crisis. Otherwise the free market adjusts where more people enter the market and sell the stuff. Even if you had billions of dollars in real life you could only corner the market in certain areas for a small amount of time, in the meantime, the people you're buying from are getting rich.

If your primary concern is about helping out players that cant afford your goods at an inflated price try to sell to them via general. Yeah kind of a pita and some people hate those who spam but it is what it is. I remember when I was working on hero's journey quest line I would loot hundreds of pieces of defiant gear per week. Once I got a traders bank full of the junk I would switch them from selling their normal stuff to defiant at rock bottom prices. I had people positioned near my trader buying me out as fast as I loaded it. One guy even followed me back to the banker as I resupplied which I can only assume he was dumping what he just bought into the bank. I would run back up and he would buy me out. I am assuming he was reselling the stuff but I did not care. It was placing items into circulation people might be able to use, I was making some easy plat off of what could have easily been rots, and the guy buying my gear is making the easiest money one can make. I understand the frustration of people that resell but honestly I get more upset about the people that come in and undercut me especially on player made goods that are barely turning a profit already. Those are the players that drive me nuts.
