anyone know what's up with zam?

the everquest allakhazam has been down just about all day

from the look of it, it seems to be down.

That's kinda what I said lol. I'm curious if anyone knows why or what's going on.

The server that the site is hosted on had a hardware failure. The data center where it's hosted at is trying to restore it.

Please be patient -- we'll be back by 11:30 PM Pacific Time!

Yep I kinda read that already. It said that yesterday until it went past 11:30pm pst at which point it said it would be back as soon as possible.

Hence why I was asking the person who works for/with the site if there was a real update to be had.

Ahhh, I didn't realize it said that yesterday as well, my bad.

Currently no status update. I'll reach out to Gidono and see if he knows anything.

In the meantime, you should be able to use wayback machine to access older versions of the site until it's back up and running.

Sorry folks, I haven't gotten a status update from ZAM today yet. They said yesterday they were having issues restoring the site because of how old the hardware was that it was running on. They haven't given me an ETA.

say what? Meaning that the initial software is out of date, and no true mirror was created. Tough luck on alla side of things that's for sure. Would be interesting, as i would have been fired doing these backups.

ZAM dba's backed up the databases not long ago because we were doing work on some of the database tables so the data has been recently backed up. I also have recent backups of several of alla/lucy database tables as well since I make changes to them in my developer environment.

I'll ask for a update from the data center and let ya guys know what they say.

They had to order a new server, they are configuring it now and then will get to work on getting everything put back on it.

What? You mean I have to play the game without knowing in advance where everything is, and how to defeat each boss? *Mumble* *Grumble* about TLPs no longer re-creating the true old school experience...

Glad i still have my binder with printed out spell lists from 2000.
