No clue what your post was meant for, but I already listed two placeable forges as examples, which is a critical feature of what I was suggesting (albeit pie-in-the-sky).
There was an achievement to collect rare fish in past beta... they could maybe add a fishing trophy as a reward since there is none.
These (and other portable tradeskill containers) are great fun. You can build a wall around people, for example the lag pile, and watch them try to find their jump key to get out.
Well... your full request was: It sounded like you weren't aware that such items exist that are "allowed to be placed in a room like where the custom Velious helm drake is". So I pointed out that they do.
If you want pottery to make something useful and maybe alchemy/poison then let them make "augments" with the different foci effects, nothing else on them, no stats anything, pure foci charm slot and let the armor have the stats it needs... add in a "raid aug" that boost that grp stat up to whatever is needed for a raid version and then the normal slot 7/8 on them. which gives them 3 aug slots Slots 2? for the foci (forgot which one LDON used) Slot 12 for the raid aug (that is the one right?) Slot 7/8 for the normal augs the chest can have the type 15 (or whichever it was) that increased as you had more set items and gave overall nice boost. and please more "fishing combines" and rare/ultrarare fishing drops in all/mana zones with achievements and other fishing quests would be awesome (fishing gear, waders, boots, hat etc.) could take a small glance at that other evil game that starts with W and ends with W and have an "oh" in the middle. Fishing could use a little upgrade to make it more "interesting/interactive"
We can be sympathetic to a point about lack of dev resources - that doesn't mean ideas and innovation goes by the wayside because it's "work".
Because food/drink is broken? Food and drink are intended to be consumable but currently isn't, due to the force-feeding mechanic. Not matching the intention = broken. The idea with food/drink as clickable buffs with a single charge could work. Durability should be affected be the passive metabolism AA, better food/drinks should have longer durability though. The only problem is that you manually have to click your food/drink everytime the buff runs out, and it would take up buff-slots, not to mention stacking issues. Why not just disable force-feeding instead by disallowing right clicking/"using" on food/drink? Or will that break something else? Quests that require you to eat/drink a specific item, could have that item converted to match the potion-mechanic instead.
Good point, maybe they could make alcoholic drinks function like potions then... Hmmm. maybe trying to fit it into something it wasn't meant to be in the first place just to avoid coding, isn't such a good idea after all. In the long run it will make EQ a big mess.... Redesigning it from scratch, is probably a better long term solution, which again will be scheduled to "someday"...
