The members of the Noble Exchange have been spreading rumors of a somewhat shady swashbuckler who is always on the move. Marcia Attamilgad claims she’s the only person in Norrath who can find the items that she sells. If she has something that you want, are you willing to pay the asking price for her rare items?

“I’ll be frank with you. This stuff costs a lot to get. If you want it you’ll have to make it worth my while, and my time is worth a lot.” – Marcia Attamilgad

Marcia Attamilgad, the Shadiest Swashbuckler, begins her travels throughout Norrath on Wednesday, October 1, 2014. She’s a traveling vendor that will have a limited number of items in her inventory to purchase each day. Each day her inventory will be different, and she’ll offer players the opportunity to purchase items that have long disappeared from the Norrath we know today.

If Marcia has an item you’ve been interested in that is no longer available anywhere else in Norrath, are you willing to make it worth her while?

And once again, everyone not a Ranger loses. Reminds me of most GM/Guide events. Have Tracking Skill or F- off.

Also, I think items removed from the game for being unbalancing should actually be removed, all of them. If it's safe to bring them back, let everyone have a shot, not just those with Tracking Skill.

For all you know Mr. Silverclaw, the vendor will be on the Find feature. I wouldn't complain until that is confirmed.

We don't know anything about the specifics on this npc's spawning method yet....nor what her wares are.

Ah yes, slowly sniffing out and ruining the last bastions of fun in the game by removing the challenge of collecting said rare old world items the hard way: tracking people down who have them and getting ripped off.

It's to be expected though i suppose... we can buy pre-leveled characters, gear, mounts, potions...any challenge that this game once offered now comes with a price to bypass. Well done, Sony, well done.

What's next? The ability to buy raid wins?

I'm still waiting on my guise of the ancient gods to be fixed btw, tick tock.

Out of curiosity, this non-ranger is curious just how long these wanderings will take ? In other words, is this poor soul doomed to wander Norrath forever ?

She resets everyday, probably midnight pst, it will take awhile for full gear set to be known, but so far Warding Star for 3.3 million plat

I think this idea is brilliant! I just hope she has enough on her for everyone to get a shot at something cool.

Also contained this i believe, only caught a portion of a convo in say, but unlike the Warding Star there was only one on the vendor.
If true, it would open the possible items from not only no longer dropped items but also 1 time GM items.

Sidenote: Shes telling me im not accomplished enough to see her inventory. Perhaps theres some sort of flagging system along with this or just an automated message when shes "sold out"

For the first time, I'm sad that I never have a huge amount of plat- the chance of being able to get The Lifeguide and a book from pre-revamp Veeshan's Peak that no longer drops? /tear

Now, this is for sure increase the sells of the kornos.
Buy Konros from Sony, sell for plat in game, get the item you want, repeat the cycle.
  14. Riou EQResource

The 1 item per day thing is pretty bad, especially since it will prob reset at standard Sony midnight pst time, basically anyone who cant play at the time will never see these items

Im not sure if its really that way, i just came upon the tail end of a conversation. But if its for quality rares like 1 time GM items, its understandable

    NOOOO!!!!

'No Longer Dropped' items were part of the charm of the game. The great thing about these items is that they told a story and marked a special point in EQ history.

The Scimitar of the Mistwalker's prestige and charm were quickly destroyed by Casino 1.0. By Wednesday? Some newbie will buy an Oakwynd with their parent's credit card (Krono for Barter)?!

Furthermore, are people going to battle for this merchant like a Vex Thal perma-camp?

The vendor should just sell utility (Hero's Forge, Unattuners, Perfected Augment Removers, race change pots), and Polymorphs and Metamorphs.

Sad day. May as well put Veteran Rewards up on Marketplace. :-/

Just a aside, how do you know what will be on it as its not to go live till oct 1 is it wandering around now just without the ability to actually purchase?

    Over react?
Ultra rare 1-3 per server items are pointless. 99% of people don't even know they exist much less run see them.
Scimitar of the Mistwalker lost its charm because everyone got pet weapons in PoP. Plus, it just wasn't as good as people remembered (cause they all spoke about the pre-nerf one).

God Illusion is sacred. GM events items are not?

If these items are pointless and useless, why change the status quo? Keep the artifacts artifacts!

Economics 101. These 'No Longer Dropped' items are like classic cars. They have an intrinsic value for their one-off status. You can't say Scimitar of the Mistwalker lost its value from a purely utilitarian perspective. Taking your argument, a Sceptre of Destruction or Salindrite Dagger should be as cheap as the Scimitar today. Furthermore, look at a more utilitarian Pre-nerf Fungi Staff; not on the same order of interest as Circlet of Shadow. The greater the supply, the lower the demand. But by even reintroducing the supply, you destroy the item's intrinsic value.
