Universal Chat server instability

For the love of Tunare, any chance for a "We're looking into it?"

They probably did look into it, it told them it was "available", it's gets checked off as completed and another bug was slain.

The bug just has a really fast respawn rate.

I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It’s the only way to be sure.

AKA the EQPlayers solution.

Whoever is in the data center can stop unplugging the network cable, plugging in back in... over and over while laughing maniacally any time.

The chat service has been going on and off every 5 seconds to ?? minutes even hours on Sunday the 19th. I noticed during the Football game, it was completely off. THEN , when the ballgame was done.. it went on.

Can someone explain why it is going on and off? One person asks a question, then Universal Chat Service goes down.. I go to reply, it is off. The email icon is not red.. therefore WE do not get a notice it is down. THEN it goes back up. off.. on .. off.. on.. off... on..

This has been going on for days now.


Can SOE please explain to us what is happening to this service why this is still happening today?

This is borderline pitiful. Please revert it back to the old system where you had to zone to rejoin the UCS, until you can get this new UCS working.

It's 2014, we've had internet chat, even before IRC, working without a hitch for 20 years now.

Please - FIX IT ALREADY!

This is really impacting the ability to do some raids, ones where we need to have sub-group communication.

we've had 2 weeks of constant on/off/on/off already... and not a single gd SoE acknowledgement. weaksauce.

And the channel yoyo starts again tonight..

They really need to fix this. It's very VERY annoying

Yeah, this is ridiculous. Its amazing how integrated gameplay has become with chat channels. Friend lists, ignore lists, general chat for selling/grouping, private chat channels for raiding, etc. Perhaps a simple fallback system should be implemented when the UCS goes down?

Adding a note here also - seems to start around 7:30 pm EST both Monday and Tuesday of this week.. this is most annoying for trying to organize teams on raids.

This problem does make it more difficult raiding.

A comment, or especially a work around from a dev would be great!

Jan 22nd - we are having same issues with Chat as the last few nights - however tonight it started about 8:30 pm est - a bit of delay from the previous nights 7:30 times.

I have to say all you kiddies who think channels are "essential" are weak raiders
