    DD values of Confounding Constriction
    1: 3670
    3: 3670
    5: 3670
    7: 3670

Conclusion: Neither Enunciation of Tashan nor Cerebral Infiltration modify this in any way.

    DD values of Stifle
    2: 2483
    4: 5025
    6: 5183
    8: 5183

Conclusion: Both Enunciation of Tashan and Cerebral Infiltration modify the initial DD portion of Stifle, but the effects do not stack with each other, with the greater damage value of Cerebral Infiltration taking precedence.

DoT values of Confounding Constriction (Non-crit)
    1: 1225
    3: 1225
    5: 1225
    7: 1225

Conclusion: Neither Enunciation of Tashan nor Cerebral Infiltration modify this in any way.

    DoT values of Stifle (Non-crit)
    2: 1958
    4: 3229
    6: 3308
    8: 3308

Conclusion: Both Enunciation of Tashan and Cerebral Infiltration modify the non-crit DoT portion of Stifle, but the effects do not stack with each other, with the greater damage value of Cerebral Infiltration taking precedence.

DoT values of Confounding Constriction (Crit)
    1: 4961
    3: 4961
    5: 4961
    7: 4961

Conclusion: Neither Enunciation of Tashan nor Cerebral Infiltration modify this in any way.

    DoT values of Stifle (crit)
    2: 7929
    4: 13077
    6: 13397
    8: 13397

Conclusion: Both Enunciation of Tashan and Cerebral Infiltration modify the crit DoT portion of Stifle, but the effects do not stack with each other, with the greater damage value of Cerebral Infiltration taking precedence.

The damage bonus on both Enunciation of Tashan and Cerebral Infiltration is limited to chromatic effects only. What is probably more commonly seen, is an increase in non-chromatic spells at the time that Cerebral Infiltration is used, due to it being used in concert with "burn" abilities such as bard Aria, Amplifying Aura, Group Spirit of the Black Wolf, Illusions of Grandeur, Chromatic Haze, and the like, but this is not the direct result of either of these debuffs.
  2. fransisco Augur

Thats really cool info Mykaylla. Thanks!
  3. Dandin Augur

Nice data. However it's disheartening to see Enchanters using DoTs. But I believe that's a separate thread topic
  4. Mykaylla Augur

That was merely to demonstrate a chromatic DoT versus a magic DoT- no more magic nukes anymore. ;)
  5. fransisco Augur

With all your dot AAs, mindsqual some come ahead of mindcleave on a per cast basis.
As for strangle, its probably worth casting over phantasmal assult, but I have to admit, I never have room to keep it up.
Enchanters need like 5 more spells slots! Don't have room for more than 1 dot, and no stuns! gggrr
  6. Camou the Persistent Augur

Impressive and brillant work, Myk. Thanks for the clarification!
  7. Dandin Augur

Oh boy. More posts without parse data to prove it.

Thankfully I have parse data that proves exactly the opposite at home. I just happen to be at work right now.
Although I will be posting this data in another thread that outlines this. Let's not get into a "thread derail"

I will forgive you. On the basis that your a magician.

In the future, let's keep relevant data that actually pertains to the discussion at hand.

    /resume debuff order conversation.

Now. I saw an interesting point a couple of posts back. (On the first page) detailing the use of the "Helix line"

The fact is. If your after speed. Sure this is a logical point however.

If a shaman slows after you do. It overwrites helix. Killing the cripple component of helix entirely.

The best option is to do this

    Tash
    Hotkey that looks like this
    /alt act 2207 (Etheral manipulation
    /pause 1
/alt act 754 (Dreary deeds? I am not at my PC.. So I think this is correct)
    /pause 16
/cast # (where # indicates the cripple spell gem.

    Benifits

    1. You can hit this key when your spells are on cooldown
    2. Eliminates human error and pause issues
    3. Allows for shaman slows without sacrificing cripple
    4. Etheral manipulation for Wizard DPS

    Disadvantages
    1. Is slower then curtailing helix
    2. "Hotkey lock" yourself for a moment

Then after those two keys are hit. Utilizing my DPS meathod. You can get deep sleep to proc while Maintaing a DPS string. Saving time and spam clicks to get it to proc.

Depending on how bad you want to debuff

    You could also hit weakness
    Robe click
    Aura of Atrophy
    Aura of (magic resist)

Although. That would depend on your situation. Do you just want to maximize debuffing at the sacrifice of DPS?

Or do you want to help your group kill or be free to run off and pull?
  8. Qest T. Silverclaw Augur

He stated very clearly that he was talking about a "per cast basis" which means one nuke vs. one DoT or 10 nukes vs. 10 DoTs. Obviously, you can come with parses showing that the mob dies before the DoT is finished, but that's obviously not what he was talking about.

We'll forgive you on the basis that you're an Enchanter and we're not supposed to know anything about damage.;)

Dreary Deeds Rk. 2 is 73%, so it's 3% more slow, usually mitigated by half.

So, if I start with Deep Sleep, including the 70% slow that goes with it, how does Dreary Deeds Rk. 2 compare to Confounding Constriction(Rk. 2 in my case) debuff/Demolished Consciousness???
  9. Beimeith Lord of the Game

No, it's not. It's 70%. My guess is that it is supposed to be 73% but Elidroth accidentally capped it at 70%.
  10. Qest T. Silverclaw Augur

Would you mind letting us know your source so we can /bug it properly?

    3: SPA 35 Base1=20 Base2=0 Max=0 Calc=100 --- Increase Disease Counter by 20
    Text: You slow down.
Slows your target's attack speed for up to %z.

When dealing with slow/haste, the value in Base1 is not a modifier. That is, it doesn't reduce/raise your attack speed by X, it sets your attack speed to X. In this case, it sets your attack speed to 27. Attack speed has a default value of 100, so by setting your attack speed to 27, it is essentially 100-27 = 73% slow.

However, the Max field is a limiting factor. Normally the max field prevents something from going too high. In the case of Slows, it prevents it from going too low. Instead of setting your attack speed to 27, it sets it to 30, which gives you 100-30 = 70% slow.
  12. silku Augur

Does that take into account mitigation Beimeith? For instance if a mob mitigates the 70% slow to something, doesn't the 73% still come out more effective?
  13. Beimeith Lord of the Game

    No, because it isn't 73%, its 70.

Okay. On the topic of Enchanter Debuffing. I finally have a few moments to post an accurate write up of what the BEST method is.

    1. I acknowledge there are other methods to debuffing. However. on a cast by cast basis. this meathod will provide the best Debuffing order, based on time AND stack-ability with other classes.

First off. In order to understand HOW to debuff. you need to understand the tools in your arsenal.

Using the Post Above. We can make an educated choice on the best Debuff path.

    IN ORDER OF CAST.
    1. Enunciation of Tashan
    2. Etheral Manipulation
    3. Dreary Deeds
    5. Demolished Conciousness
    6. Weakness.
    7.Confounding Constriction
-- At this point you have started your DPS Weave--
    8. Chaotic Confounding
    9. Mindscythe
    10. Mindcleave
    11 . Repeat 8 - 10

Here is a hotkey i created to facilitate this,

First you cast Tash, then Hit this hotkey
    first line: /alt act 2207
    2nd line /pause 1
    3rd Line /alt act 753
    4th line /pause 17
5th line /cast # (Where # is the spell gem for Demolished Consciousness)

**NOTE** While using pet tanks. or while fighting non MEZZABLE NPCS* -- DO NOT USE Steps 8-10

Instead. using the AA "Stasis' -- Class tab Activatable-- Spam until DEEP SLEEP LANDS.. and you may use any rotation you wish for DPS... Heres what i do

    1. Clockwork Automation Click
    2. target Eye
    3. Chaotic Confounding
    4. Target. "Kill NPC"
    5. Mindscythe
    6. Mindcleave.

Steps 8- 10 or the variation involving the Clockwork eye are known as "The Mindfire Method" And can allow you to get Twincast Procs for every nuke you cast.

the Mindfire Method Rotation is 9.2 Seconds long
Chaining 3 Dots in a row for DPS is 9.0 Seconds long.

Cast for cast. second for second. You get more DPS from the "Mindfire method" Then you would offered by your standard 3 dot rotation and following that with nukes.

Even if you throw a 3 dot rotation, then follow that with the "Mindfire Method" You end up LOSING DPS by applying DPS by the wasted 9 second Cast you could have applied to another chain.

I'd recommend spelling something correctly if you plan to name it after yourself.

Qests Method, by leading with "Deep Sleep" Is an educated one, however unwise.

If Deep sleep procced on every cast of mezz. I would advocate this method. however it does not.

Deep sleep has a proc rate of 25% according to my parses.

So. that means you are taking 4 seconds + (On average) To proc Deep sleep, and in that time frame...

    I have already casted.
    1. Tash.
    2. Etheral
    3. Slow
4 .. and Im partway through casting Cripple.

Debuffs are great, But.. being slow on a debuff? Not okay.. this is noticeable. In groups, and raids. and if your a parser, solo.

Now, you might say. but YOUR NOT USING DEEP SLEEP AT ALL!
On the contrary. I am.. However, I also understand that contributing to your groups overall DPS output by using the "Mindfire Method" Will also mitigate damage on the tank. Simply by decreasing the fights time. If i am contributing to the kill speed, I am also helping the tank, by lowering the fights timeline. and keeping it within the bounds of his disciplines.

In addition to this. My method for DPS also has an innate chance to proc Deep Sleep. =D So I am again taking the best of both worlds. Except I am not sacrificing kill speed to spam Stasis,

Now. in the case of a named NPC or an unmezzable one, you are correct. I am not using Deep Sleep. However. I can if i choose to. By applying Stasis spam to apply it. however. in most cases. I don't deem it necessary. I shoot my Hyper Burn key. and pop up to 60K+ DPS and go "beastmode"

Of course. In a situational (MAX DEBUFF) Situation. One cannot forget our Aura Debuffs

    1. Aura of Atrophy -- max Hp Reduction
    2. Arcane Disjunction Aura -- MR reduction

Dandin, thanks for your participation in this thread. I do have a bunch of questions, though.

I thought we came to the conclusion earlier in this thread that EM can wait until later in the debuff order? Why do you feel it needs to go immediately after Tash?

When do you apply Deep Sleep when you feel it's necessary, and why then?

Why do you Demolished Consciousness before Confounding Constriction?

Is there any evidence that Weakness is good for anything when stacked with Demolished Consciousness? I imagine mobs don't have more than 255 Strength, but I don't know.

I suppose in a known situation, such as a raid where you know there won't be an add making something to mez could make sense; however, you aren't recommending that as a general tactic, are you? Wouldn't the loss of situational/self awareness bouncing your viewpoint around like that cause more trouble than it's worth? I might consider it more if I had a macro that would not only summon the eye, target it, and mez it, but also clicked the eye buff off.

My experience with Aura of Atrophy was that it seemed to reduce max hps, but it didn't last very long, and when it ended, the mob got the lost hps back.

I do use the Arcane Disjunction Aura on occasion when I want AE Tash or don't want to take the time to Tash during a pull.
