- CD: Cool down ( time it takes for a power to be available again )
- HL: Hard Light
- DPS: Damage per second
- Ram: Ram
- WT: WhipThrash
- ST: SnapTrap
- Cs: Chainsaw
- C: Claw
- HC: Hold Claw
- LW: Light Weight
- SR: Strafing Run
- Clip: to cancel a construct usually designated with a forward or backward slash / or \
- Fan: Fan
- Godfather of HL: The Tez
- Jump: Jump
- PT: Phantom Triangle
- WD: Whirling Dervish
- Crit: critical hit
- Proc: Programmed Random OCcurance, or how many times something happens in a certain time frame
- GH: grasping hand
- Dot: Damage over time. It does damage a preset amount of times over a predetermined time frame
- LB: Light Barrier
- ICD: Internal Cooldown
- IR: Iconic Robot

Some solid combo acronyms:

- FFF: Frankenstein Full Frontal
- NCN: Nem Chupacabra's Nuke
- WCS: Warlan's Cold Snap

PROC deserves some additional focused examples. Some buffs will unleash a proc of might damage one to four times within a timeframe while executing weapon attacks. Some gear mods will cause an effect to proc, e.g. shield pops while using a weapon.

It's been a while since I checked out HL. Do you guys no longer consider RSF (Ram=>Snap=>Fan) a relevant accronym in some discussions?

Not sure if it has a place here, but toon names that got branded with their servers during the merge ...
If there was more than one of the same toon name, and one had less playtime logged, they were the one penalized with having to carry around an underscore and their server name. I'm not sure how many or what all the acronyms are, but here are the ones I've seen:

_NML No Man's Land
_TKJ The Killing Joke
_JS Justice Server
_ZH Zero Hour
_BR ?
_PR ?

(fwiw, the people I've pugged with in the last two with question marks weren't speaking english, though they were on usps3 .... speaking of which USPS3, USPC, EUPC, EUPS3)

Do not listen to him, Omaar. This a acronym is a useful tool for communication between two people. Have you ever watched Jersey Shore?

Ok I was reading a troller guide and I saw (I know its not an acronym or maybe it is SD?) the word "speed dump" any help on this one. Thanks. And a great guide there really is a pretty good core group of very helpful players on these forums...much appreciated!!!

The guide was almost certainly referring to Speed Drain. A very good power-regenerating supercharge found in the Super Speed movement tree. There will be a section added soon for Iconic and Movement Mode acronyms. Great question.
