Every year, every month, and almost every day there is a question that is asked. When will PvP be touched and revamped? Is there an answer to this for this year?
I don't like PVP because I don't see the point in not being the same for everyone. From the moment there is difference between PVP armors. Either everyone has the same equipment and what differentiates is the skill of each player or it doesn't make sense. Including the balance between powers.
there is no mmo in creation that has that kind of balance even in purely fighting games there are Meta's but in this one before they destroyed it there was much fun to be had and as of now you will wait in a que for eternity and never get a match showing how far we have come in their systematic killing of a fantastic part of this game. I truly hope they spend time on it to make it better I honestly at this point wish they would just roll it back to the beginning of the game and just leave the pvp setting as now were all the extras are blocked from use
PvP won't be touched until they find a suitable way to monetize it. They aren't going to put time and energy into something that makes no money.
PVP would need the biggest overhaul while messing with VERY LITTLE of PVE. Artifacts would have to be disables, white mods would have to change, elite gear can not be active, league and base amenities can't exist, and they would have to figure out how to make sure someone who's wearing PVE gear only has the smallest chance at survival. The problem with just rolling back and disabling anything that came out after home turf is that there wouldn't be a good enough balance between powers since there's been so many changes to them (i'm looking at you, Fire).
Could sell different skins for legends characters, different loadouts for legends characters. Emotes and victory poses....(for the kids), Pvp weapon styles packs. To gain interest towards pvp they could start including pvp missions in events to get more event currency. Maybe some pvp missions in a dlc to get back to that hero vs villain dlc feel. Oh and you know....fixing it
If they were trying to revamp the old systems, yeah. But, I think they need to just overlay legends pvp with our characters. Disregard everything pve, and have each player choose an iconic loadout from one of the existing Legends characters, while still keeping the skin of our current characters. No roles, no gear. Done deal. Everything already pretty balanced, and stripped down to basics. Everyone would be on the same level, and only skill would determine wins. Give marks for legends characters, base items and maybe a new style vendor for a pvp currency, people love new styles more than achieving gear. The biggest downfall of pvp as is: the gear. No one wants to go in with no gear and get stomped by a fully geared team. Then, the roles and pve powers. It's far too much to balance shields, buffs, heals, etc. The legends characters are basic and a set of 6 powers. Easily managed for balance. Our pve powersets have 30 powers plus iconics and movements. Add in roles, it's a mess and why it's so unbalanced.
Everybody and their mother knows pvp is broken and so do the devs. As stated by Panderus, they want to fix PvP, they just dont have the time and tools to do it, I dont think its a problem to ask for a PvP fix, but at this point we should accept that asking wont change the state of it.
I would argue that the more its asked and the more people doing the asking pushes the developers more towards working on it
