What can be done to increase the population for Xbox 1? Our que times are literally 20-30 minutes for PVE and sometimes close to an hour for PVP. We had to que 4's with 8 people in our league to work on the feats for the different arenas, otherwise it takes close to an hour waiting on ques.

Please a solution needs to be found quickly! Maybe merge the EU and NA servers together or something.

I couldn't agree more with you. PS4 has the advantage because they are merged with PC players. My question is why can't they merge xbox with pc and ps4?
  3. Crimson Mayhem Loyal Player

Because Microsoft owns the XBox servers and won't share.

First of all, Crimson is correct on why they won't / can't, although I think it's both PS and Microsoft issues. Second when PC and PS merged, the PS side barely even noticed it. You go to watchtower do a quick nearby search and you'll generally find 2-3 PC players in a list filled with PS. The merger was primarily done because PC side had very low numbers...it wasn't done for the PS, so not sure how "PS has the advantage"???

Your numbers are terrible on NA and EU for population so it wouldn't be much different. I personally wouldn't mind playing with Xbox if possible, but you all would freak out at our economy.

Take the matter up with PlayStation Xbox has already said yes to allow cross play it's PlayStation who hasn't decided on what it's going to do at this moment the new has been all over the internet since March 2016

Just Sony being stubborn and not accepting Microsoft's request to allow crossplay

Not exactly true...Sony did release a statement (see below) but in the end, why would they? They have had the lead between the 2 systems this go around

“PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002.
“We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play.”

Sony is getting arrogant. Something tells me the Scorpio will take lead over the Pro.
  11. Delta796th Loyal Player

Not saying they aren't and I know the last few months the XBONE has outsold the PS4 In July and possibly August.
But the numbers are staggering and I don't know how the Scorpio can do anything to make a dent in the gap.

Last official numbers (or as close as they will release) was spring 2016. PS4 had just crossed the 40 million mark & Xbone was just about to hit 18 million total units sold. The Scorpio will have to outsell both the PS4 and the Pro by more than 4-1 for a few years just to catch up. I'm not a PS homer (I had both 360 and PS) but numbers don't lie

The funny thing is I think, you are right in the arrogance side. Too bad IMO it was MS this time around and Sony has been pummeling them for that.
  12. Fatal Star 10000 Post Club

If Sony keeps acting like they can't lose, give it enough time and MS will eventually take the lead. Sony saw MS X-Play request as a beacon for help, like they're saying "our servers are dead compared to yours, let's combine forces so the Xbox players have more to play with" and seems Sony let it get to their head lol.

That said, you're correct and Sony still does have a significant lead not counting recent months, but the amount of hate I see the Pro get, the Ps5 better be a godsend machine or else MS could take the lead next generation of consoles.

Lets get back on the Population Subject, forget the consoles being sold I could care less. People may feel there are better games to play on Xbox than DCUO so I would just say merge the EU and NA even if we can't tell the difference it may be better than nothing.

Cross Play between PC and PlayStation not XBOX try reading that again they only console who has stated they had no problem with 100% cross play outside of a title was XBOX. Final Fantasy , Rocket League , Dcuniverseonline and a few others are Limited Cross play with PC only none of these tiles are true cross play if they were it would be cross played on PC , PlayStation Xbox all at the same exact time..

If they were to merge PS/PC with Xbox, there'd probably be another name consolidation taking place and I'm pretty sure that a lot of Xbox players would "lose" their names by having a _XB (or something like that) attached to it. Also, if Daybreak were to make the general guidelines like how they did with PS/PC, i.e. which toon created first, which toon spend money, which toon has been online for x many months, I'm sure there'd be more than a handful of Xbox players "losing" their names because of this guideline too. I think some wouldn't be too happy about that.

The numbers were lower on pc that's true but they were not as bad as they are now.
After the merge of PC & PS a lot of the PC player base has decided to leave because of the kids and the limitations of the PS3.

IMO the PC population should have been merged with Xbox and PS should have been left on its own. Dealing with the limitations of the PS3 has been a major issue for me. I don't see how the PS 4 guys have dealt with it for so long.

Region server merge is not a solution. Platform merge is not an option either, since Daybreak already linked PC to PS; I would have preferred they had linked PC with Xbone, but.... EUPC was basically in the same shape you now describe for EUXB and they couldn't wait without risking to lose more PC customers for good.

First thing people need to realize: compared to PS4, the Xbone is really selling badly in Europe (well, technically worldwide behind PS4, but the numbers from Europe this year really sting). So there is really less audience available in total, making the Xbone package/appeal itself part of the problem.

Second thing is Europeans do spend way less money on virtual goods than people in the US.

So DCUO lack an attractive F2P package compared to other F2P games. And devs just missed a chance to make F2P more attractive in DCUO with the seasonal currency package. How is that related? Lemme explain:

STO also launched on Xbox just this year. Nearly half a year after DCUO, but their package is more attractiv for F2P players. Instead of offering a solid pack of marks for 600 SC/MC, devs should have grabbed a feature from STO and turn seasonal currency into stockmarket items with a price range (STO does so with one of their 7 ingame currencies as well, and it actually gives F2P an option to have access to paid content by grinding). Ideally it would have been 10 SC/MC min (slightly below current package ratio) per seasonal and 50 SC/MC max. A stockmarket terminal would allow players with overhead seasonal currency to offer those for a price per unit within that range, and players who want to buy seasonal currency to buy a number of those for the price per unit they want. If offer and demand don't meet, there is no deal until a look on the other side makes one side give in and lower/raise their price per unit until a deal takes place.

The advantage of this is clear: it improves the F2P package DCUO offers since F2P players have a viable, grind based option to gain access to paid content, and it also ensures content is actually played since there would be no seasonal currency to buy if no one plays the content with this system. Also, it reduces the "hateful" stances players on different sides of opinions display here on the forums since both sides could with that system benefit from each other (while Daybreak benefits maybe even more since there will always be "lazy" players willing to buy out of seasonal grind even at a rate of 50 SC/U which keeps the prices up for a while and have players buy more SC/MC of Daybreak than with the current system). For PS, the loyalty vendors would need to be turned into conversion terminals (1 loyalty point = 1 SC) to make it work, ending the disadvantage PS players suffer eversince the membership 10% off sale bonus was added (there is no 10% bonus on the loyalty vendor, PC players benefit from getting their "loyalty points" in form of SC/MC).

That would have been the best way to get some population back into EUXB. Oh, and fixing the game would also help :D

PS allows cross-play, and we have it between PS3, PS4 and any PC capable of the minimum system requirements.
MS allows cross-play between one console (only Xbox One), PC users (only Windows 10), and select others through a restricted environment (MonoGame), and after approaching them (read: jumping through contractual hoops and $$$$).

Aside from 5 years, there is a fundamental difference between Xbox1 and PS4, and that is F2P. To play the game on XB1 requires a subscription to M$ while you don't need that on the PS. This really makes it not really a F2P game for Xbox.

In any regard there are a few factors that makes the population in itself not do so well there. From launching in the middle of a big expected change to server and stability issues that turned people away. All in all, population is probably similar to EUPC was back before the merge.
