  1. Feenicks New Player

Ok, RP is kind of important to me. The Phoenix (Feenicks) is a beast of mythology. Thus ancient weapons or magical weapons are important for this persona. My main weapon is shield......ancient. It seems to combo into two handed......also ancient. And then combos into duel pistols.......NOT so ancient! Duel pistols and rifle kind of destroys the RP for this toon. Hand blasters can be explained off as fire balls thus mayhaps magic.

I know.....in the grand scheme of things not a biggie. But many folks want to keep the RP alive and well. Is there a way to keep that AND fully exploit the new mechanic?

How about making the extra innates actually worth something. That would make sp useful. Not this new mechanic of mixed weapon and combos. Way too much and confusing. Looks like this will be the nail in the coffin.

My thoughts, as well. I was initially wondering how they would make something like this a stand-alone purchase, but the more I look at it, the more it looks like a powerset. It's an optional weapon mechanic that not everyone will even use. Heck, as Celestial, I won't use it at all. It will only be a SP sink for me, as the new innates sound better than what we currently have available.

Copied my post from a closed thread (Didn't see this one)
    So very excited about DLC10

Weapon Mastery looks amazing, fresh take and change in combat mechanics.

However, I feel Last Laugh DLC owners should get a larger bonus with Crits unlocked via the Shield as the Shield does not share any Weapon Mastery with other weapons using Shield Combos. (Limitation of people not owning weapon/DLC)

Also other than hoping for a precision weapon balance - which they hinted at.

I do hope they apply the "Melee" Buff across the board - 20% Control Resistance and 15% Crit Weapon Attack Damage

Gonna take a change of play as a Controller as to not waste the Crit Tray ability damage from the Mastery Combo-buff...so combo than a damaging move and then Clip with instant power.

Also Brawling Clap to MA AoE Shuriken....power regen is OP.

Buffing Might damage literally does nothing and would only make Prec powersets stronger. Its not like the combo powers rely on Prec only, whatever benefit a Might based power would get from that, a Prec based power would get as well. So on top of Combos being stronger, now the Might ticks hit like trucks too.

And what you're proposing is essentially another power revamp for the what? 9 powersets that don't do combos? It took them 2 years to get through 6 with some of them having only fundamental changes, this is asking to start all of them from scratch, while still needing to balance them out.

my opinion ..and as a celestial user.... if you buff might by 20% it will be considered more op then it already is... celestial pumps out some really decent might damage even in full prec. gear modded with prec. mods .....

personally the best thing they can do is if you have a full set of might gear equipped you get a might damage buff as long as every piece equipped is might (this eliminates celestial users to mix might and precision gear and get the buff along with the already ridiculous amount of damage precision can do..)... in turn give precision gear some kind of boost as well like...reduce the chances of being controlled

Fingers crossed Greenie, but I'm less optimistic. If you're a power that has to jump cancel and push out lots of casts quickly to compensate for lower base damage, I think this is going to really degrade your efficacy. Mental should be fine, and maybe it's time I hung up the ring and came home, but one of the reasons I switched in the first place is because I wanted to see if I could go faster and turn out more DPS. It pushed me to spend a lot of time in-game honing my timing and my clips. This feels like a major nerf to the skill element of DPS.

So give might based powers a 20% boost in damage when spec'd to a certain amount of might per tier.. This would exclude HL, Celestial, and Rage. Done.

lol, I'm looking up what new MMOs are coming to PS4 right now... Unless they change this, this game is turning into something that is going in a direction that does not look good for fans of the fast paced action fighting mechanics, that made many mmo AND fighting game players such as myself fall in love with it in the first place

Atleast I didn't invest as much time as some of the Hardcore players, so leaving will be no big deal

    1. I would like to know that too. Do support roles crit power/heals when finishing off the mastery combo with a healing or powering power?
    2. No, he says on the stream you can't.
    3. Already done before your post
    5. I want to know this too

one more note i think i should add real quick concerning the the DEVS comments from the webcast.
about the point Spytle made about this being a great option for players that do not like to clip.

personally i clip, but i do have one friend im thinking of in particular that refuses to clip that i know very well.

i can state with almost certainty the reason he does not like clipping has nothing to do with the "seeing the full animations" as the DEVs suggested.

the reason he does not and will never clip is because for him it just adds another level of combos or timing outside of his normal power rotation.
now in his case a system such as this would basically seem like the same thing as clipping....
I'm farily sure it wouldnt actually appeal to him or perhaps many other 'casuals' in the slightest because of that alone.

not an issue for me personally, but just thought i should mention it.
    thanks.

When I tank lower raids, I'm a stinker. I either set up the groups myself or I'm one of the first 3 in group with a leaguemate before they lfg. Even on the content that doesn't need a tank.

"Pretty sneaky sis" ;) Try it tankies. nobody's gonna complain
  14. RageOfHeaven1990 New Player

Here's an idea I came up with to make this more usable by the support roles. What if upon completion of any certain combo done by that person in a support role they gain these effects. Only in PvE though.
    1) Healer: Increased restoration (10%) for 20 seconds.
    2) Controller: Increased vitalization (10%) for 20 seconds.
    3) Controller: Increased Debuff potency (10%) for 20 seconds.
    4) Tank: Immune to enemy control effects and counter mechanics for 10 seconds.

Either 2 or 3 for controllers.

What do you guys think. Open for criticism (constructive only please).;)

Killing clipping for people who trained for it for 3 years is a horrible idea.

Seems like an attempt to push everyone into the same simplified playstyle, removing personal skill and individualism instead of fixing power sets.

Is just not smart to bring all powersets down instead of bringing the lacking ones up.

And if you don't use weapon mastery all you get is a nerf to your clipping potentially ruining a whole powerset.

this works too but id rather see more people flat out say no to being the solo support role for the instance... the ones asking for it would just simply have to adapt...
  17. AgentX44 Committed Player

I agree that the support roles need to get some immediate benefit to doing the combos. If not, there's no sense for anyone playing support roles to use them.

While I would love it if support roles got something out of this mechanic other than damage, are you really saying non-DPS characters doing more damage is a bad thing?

This mechanic isn't 'kiliing' clipping. You will still be able to clip even after this goes live.

Wrong. Its killing clipping, especially for hard light.
