    This question was not answered in the live stream. Will weapon combos for Primal Wolf, Gorilla and Insectoid be included in these changes in some way? If not will Gorilla's combo animation speed be looked at? As it is Gorilla's combo speed is slower than Brawling..

    I expect the answer to the first question will be no but it doesn't hurt to ask and I not having the option will not affect my gameplay either way. I hope the answer to the second question is yes as Gorilla is not very viable as a fighting tool with the horrible speed it has. Gorilla did have a decent animation speed at one point but over time it became pretty slow.

    Nature weapon sets have traditionally changed along with major changes to the weapon systems which is why I am asking. If they change great, if not well it is not like I won't be able to play with them effectively. :p

    The whole point of clipping was to make the combat faster. If you put a cooldown on clipping, then you are effectively slowing down the combat. Yes, you can probably try to find another power/combo to be able to clip a little bit faster, but it might not be as fast and/or efficient as before. It's like the equivalent "fix" to Phase Dodge.

    Long time reader and not one to post very often, but I'd like to throw my two cents in.

    First of all, thank you devs for giving us this opportunity. Although MOST of the previous posts have the tone of a definitive direction, I get that this really is a sounding board.

    I'd like to see the additional innates before I cast judgement. That said, I also find myself in the camp that currently gets the impression this does little for support roles and a lot for DPS players.

    Please shed some light on this.

    Most hardlight dps I run with barely even use their weapon, same with celestial.

    I was wondering if the PVP mechanics introduced into the PVE side would be changed at all? For instance a 103CR running trigon will be unable to use any of these combos due to the knock down rates. The idea is fantastic for ranged during raids but smaller content i fear it would be wasted space in how often i might be waiting to get back up. Any thoughts?

    OMG you have no idea what you are talkng about. Each and every rotation for hard light clips a weapon charge or tap of rifle into its combos.

    QUESTION: Character wise, lets say I envisioned my character to be a pure hand to hand fighter(ex brawling). If I get the two hand combos for brawling will I be forced to pick a two hand style for that portion of the combo? Is there any way I can pick a bare handed style so not to break the flow how I saw my character's fighting style by bringing a two hand weapon from out of nowhere?

    They're not forcing you to do anything. They are just giving you more options. If you saw how hard the combo'd weapons hit in the live cast you wouldn't even be worried about jump cancel anymore.

    I don't know how fast you are but average reaction time is 0.215 second. They are locking all animations behind 1.2 or whatever or blocking clipping which they explained in the stream to be "necessary". How many buttons can you hit in 1 second?

    Meaning all powers that are currently fast and can be clipped are facing a nerf with or without the DLC.

    Not using MW the only thing you are getting is a nerf to your powers and for some people the whole gameplay is out the window.

    In addition to that it only benefits dps'ers.

    I think if they kept the clipping and let people play who they've played for 3 years and made the damage for HW users match, fixed the powersets AND added bonus to support roles instead of pure dps it could be fine enough.

    But we back to you can't add by subtracting. You won't make weaker powers good by making everything poor.

    Seems like wishful thinking dreaming of a shortcut to make all dps equal instead of actually fixing the powersets.
    And unfortunately in the process killing what is actually the superior gameplay mechanic.

    They need to rethink there stance on limiting clipping, or I need to see just how much the plan on changing it. That is my only major concern other than the lack of support role benefits

    STOP.. Just stop talking about a power you obviously know nothing about. Please go argue another point in this thread, and please stay away from commenting on powers you know nothing about.

    Yes it makes THAT much of a difference. It stops you from having to watch the construct fan animation which is LONG and does no damage after its initial burst.

    Sounds like utter garbage. Clipping is a mechanic you confirmed was working just fine. Now you change your stance to appease the terrible playerbase that loses to it, and rather than putting in the minimal time to learn it, they whine and complain.

    Terrible.

    look all ive been trying to say is, im sure there are more options and alternatives now, celestial dps did the same thing. I know cause i use celestial. But with you being a HL dps i assume you have a lot of precision. So im sure you can create some alternative to this with weapon mastery.

    you probably just don't see that they used the weapon to clip. they probably clip fast that you don't actually see the weapon animation. with the cooldown that they will implement, you will see the clipping animation now. That's from my understanding of the stream.

    Hey all,

    W.I.P. is working as intended already. One of the biggest concerns we had was the value this system had for roles - more damage seemed weak, as well as less need to do aspects of your role. Feedback during and after the stream confirms our feelings that that is an important area to focus on. What I would like from you is the following. Please, follow this format and make it easy on me(or I might just disregard it as a tldr).

    1) Quote this post (this will send me an alert to click on)
    2) Put the following three lines with a brief explanation of a weapon master benefit for each:

    - TANK: (description)
    - HEALER: (description)
    - CONTROLLER: (description)

    3) Nothing more

    I'm glad we did this. Please be patient, keep it constructive, and be a positive part of this collaborative process, which is the spirit behind doing this.

    Initial reaction: I dont get it.

    Let me preface this by saying, I didnt see the entire cast, just saw the end and skimmed the top post so I might be wrong about a lot of this stuff, so bear with me

    First, I dont think it will be used heavily enough...Weapons are sparingly used now and I dont think that even a 100% modifier will make people use them now except at the very beginning of rotations to put a DOT on...I dont see this as any better than what we have now, just a slightly worse alternative

    Second, this does nothing for support roles...I saw Spytle mention that maybe this will appeal to controllers because we wont have to feed DPS power anymore, but this wont change the DPS mindset in the least...Its still going to be a non-stop power dumping fest for however long, only now the DPS can be more effective without any power

    Third, the clipping thing...Can we get more details on this please? Before we get too far down the line here, id like to see how much you guys actually want to adjust it...Our combat is great as is, so I dont want to see clipping get slowed down too much/at all, especially because of how vital it is for some powersets (HL)

    Again, we're just hours into seeing this for the first time, so we need to see more before any of us make any real comments regarding it
