Then don’t reply! You’ve seen what it was about. Said your bit (as ALWAYS!) so... now you’ve once again invaded a thread that you’ve already had made your point in, but now wang to cry that you’re annoyed. Sweetie - maybe if you didn’t spend every single waking hour in the forums, you wouldn’t be so stressed, reading repeat threads by different people. Honestly! We all don’t live here and see these threads. But either way - you’ve said your bit! I’ve no more interest in you. You have a fabby day traipsing the forums for the next thing to be annoyed at. I’m giving you a thumbs up rn. Oh wait... :O

Ok so take away the simple. If final fantasy or elder scrolls has an instance breaking glitch they take the game down for emergency maintenance and fix it. Sometimes the game literally comes down for 24-48 hours til it’s fixed instead of being broken for weeks. I’m just trying to understand the difference and it’s hard Not to buy what my friend says that this is just a smaller company without the finance to quickly fix problems. Was hoping for some explanation as to why other mmos on PlayStation don’t seem to have this issue.

Farm the bosses for a few hours and buy 15-20 booms of Hermès that sell for 4 mil a pop and then buy seeds. People act so helpless.

How fast it can be patched depends on what type of bug it is. If it's a client bug (which they have said it is) then the client itself needs to be patched, which is where the approval process from Sony comes in. These client fixes cost money and time to publish, as in they have to actually give money to Sony in order to get the fix in and the fix has to be approved by Sony.

If it's a server based fix they can literally just do that whenever they want and it does not need approval from Sony. Now I don't have a full understanding about what exactly constitutes a client fix and what is a server fix, but from the sounds of what you described for FF XIV and ESO those sound like server based fixes, because we have had instances before where devs were able to disable specific pieces of content, fix them and then re-enable them without a client fix being issued. If I am correct, then that is the reason that FF XIV and ESO were able to get those fixes out quickly.

This isn't specifically a console issue, it is just seen more on consoles because generally they are less powerful than gaming PCs.

Anyone looking to publish a new client/download goes through the same process with consoles to publish, which adds at least a few days onto the end of the process once we have the issue fixed.

For us, there's an issue with how this particular map is building that is specific to this particular map, and it is taking us way too long to track it down. We had an improved build ready to go on Saturday that we thought would be the fix, but further testing revealed it wasn't quite there and that we had introduced a second issue.

Usually this kind of issue is pretty obvious - something last minute introduced or left a few million extra polygons over there, whoops, delete - but that's not the case here, unfortunately. We are very sorry for the issue and the delay.

OP items are supposed to be a slow grind. If you have alts at CR299+ make sure to run them through every day, it helps. I run four characters through it every day and I would estimate I've gotten at least 20 Seeds (although that would be including ones from the alert too, but I only run that on one character a day). Hell, I've just been selling all my Hephaestus's Steel and New Genesis Seeds because I'm not in a rush and I know I'll be able to re-buy them all later and still have made a profit.

I couldn't tell you without details what they were fixing, but overnight fixes are probably data on the server, not files on the client.

I can tell you we really wouldn't ever bring the game down for 48 hours to fix a single alert. That seems crazy and a lot worse for everyone. We could disable the alert entirely until it is fixed, but I don't really see how that improves the situation since so many people are also able to get through it with their machines.

What Jaffin said. The Atlantis map that they used for the alert is the same glitchy map they originally used for the Atlantis episode. Map data is probably stored on our console hard drive and adding/editing/replacing any of that data requires a review by Sony before they allow permission to put a patch through.

I understand that y’all are trying your best and it’ll be fixed when it’s fixed. It’s just that it’s starting to disrupt our progression. If you could consider implementing some temporary measures to help us out, that’d be ace.

I guess I just don’t understand enough about computers to understand why other mmos never seem to have glitches for weeks but this one does. I get everything you are saying about glitchy data and that needing to be approved by Sony but why don’t other mmos run into putting out a dlc, it being broken, and them not being able to fix it without approval from Sony? I know Mepps said to answer that he’d need to know what’s being fixed. As a consumer it’s just genuinely confusing to me that you guys seem to have so many hoops to jump through to fix things. I also if I’m just being honest can’t remember the last time one of those other major mmos had an instance breaking issue like this upon release. It’s usually something server related and people can’t log in or something. So why does daybreak come out with at least two dlcs in a row that are completely broken at launch? Vmf alert was terrible for a long time too. Is the game not funded very highly? Would we still have these issues if the dlc had been released later? And can anyone explain to me as if you were explaining to a 5 year old why it’s not feasible to have a ps4 test server? Don’t we make you guys most of the money?

Because during the two weeks of testing on the public test server, none of these issues came up. Have you seen Jurassic Park? Everything is going great during the testing phase but once they released the dinosaurs into the habitats everything goes out of control due to unforseen circumstances. Same like publishing a game, once it's released unforseen bugs appear. Even if they had tested the episode for a full month the same issues would have popped up.

It's not feasible to have a PS4 test server for the very same reason it takes time to fix bugs. Test servers go through several patches when testing an episode. On PC these patches could be pushed through immediately, on PS it would take extra time and money.

Jurassic Parks issues were self induced.

A tropical storm, industrial sabotage and female dinosaurs spontaneously changing to male are not self induced issues.

The man responsible for the creating the security breach was not appreciated or paid enough. This lead to the events. John Hamm could have prevented it all.

I'm sure Hammond was paying him an amazing salary. Nedry was just greedy.

It's doable... In fact everything up until you get to Atlantis Bridge is fine. There are steps you can take to run the final section, but with all the visual glitching those of us on PS4 can and will often miss some tells, important messages, and other effects. It's mainly annoying and frustrating... and in some ways a test of skill. As long as you are fixing it and will be releasing a fix soon, I might gripe a bit... but I've got some patience from having worked with "walled garden" stuff in the past. :)

Suggested Temporary Measure: Shut off the affected content to the affected console players with no compensation

Perhaps you have a better suggestion.

How about suggesting something that would actually be helpful?
