Why doesn't wavedox update my stye?

pretty straight forward question, Why does wavedox update my stats but not my characters style? iv'e had the same look going on 2 years now lol. Anyone i can contact to have it updated or something or is it like that forever

The census apps have been sorta abandoned on the server side...so while stats continually update, character models don't. Not sure why this happened, but unfortunately this is so far down the totem pole of thing for them to look into that we might as well shift our focus to Lantern healing powers (another thing that's not happening in this decade).

not entirely sure but i think wavedox was created by someone who doesn't play anymore hence the lack of work going into it.

If you go to any of the census apps they all share the same issue...they're drawing from DBG's servers and it used to take a long time then to update your toon's appearance, now that it's been left by the wayside, none of them update your looks.

ahh... i always thought that sore had a hand in that.

i do agree that they should update.

Because the players that ran the census sites no longer play or care about dcuo

I think I read a post (from Mepps?) awhile ago, which said that the way Wavedox pulls information... it updates the character model based on the last time you literally "Disconnected" from the game... and backed all the way out to the 'Splash Screen' with the photo of Batman & Superman fighting Lex & the Joker. (Not just to the Landing Screen, where you Switch / or "Create New" characters).

And if the game crashes & you go 'Linkdead'.... it doesn't update the database, either.
You have to select "Disconnect" from the options menu and wait... and go all the way back to the beginning.
(And if you have multiple characters, you have to do the same thing for each one)

Then your character image should update whenever the next time Wavedox pulls info from the database.

Most folks do not (manually) 'Exit' the game this way... usually people just back out to the 'Character Selection' screen... or just hold the 'PS button' to 'Force Quit' or shutdown the game quickly (or they get kicked off the server automatically, due to long periods of 'inactivity').

That's why their character model rarely ever gets updated on Wavedox.

I always disconnect the proper way to that screen but the model image remains the same so i don't know lol. It might be deeper than that, it's not a big deal though i was just always curious about it plus i had a dope style i wanted to save to my wavedox profile but i can live without it xD.

This might have been true once, but I really don't think that's the case anymore. I have logged off using the disconnect method a few times...and my 2015 look still persists in all census app searches.

Crossplay broke the API, nobody from Daybreak bothered to fix it.

This was the same conclusion I reached a few minutes ago, as I found all the posts above....

Census app developers don't generate the content. We just display it. If it's not up to date, that's a Daybreak problem.

The last time they updated anything census related was when they added the feats from Episodes 24 & 25 (Harley's Heist & Darkseid's War Factory, and Iceberg Lounge & A Rip in Time). No feats have been added to the API since then. They are missing Episodes 26 & 27 (Wayne Manor Gala & Kandor Central Tower, and Amazon Fury III), the new PvP arena (Belle Reve), all style feats since then as well as any updates to seasonal stuff, time capsules, etc.

The paper dolls (the images you see) haven't updated since about a year ago... about when the PS and PC servers merged.

And while all of this is very low on the priority list, you'd think that the census would actually just be a database lookup... perhaps via a read-only copy of it. If I had to guess, there's just a sync process that needs to be run... but they can't find it because the person who did it either left the company and never explained how to do it, or is still there and has much higher priority stuff to finish.

Same for me. Im pretty sure its because the person who created wavedox doesnt play anymore. Even the CR and SP #s on there are outdated. If the problem is a dbg one like sore said above then my guess is they dont really care. Its been a very long time since those sites were accurate. And it cant be blamed on stat revamp being priority and all that. Cause its been like a year. My guess is they will never be updated again. Oh well.

Actually, just looked myself up...that's correct and current (Stats). But the paper doll is stupid old. I can't even remember the last time I rocked a look like that.

Remember that app they were working on...yeah, that project got left on the wayside...so what's the point of updating anything on the Census Api??? It even affects the CR calculators because the new gear doesn't register, so it has to be manually input.

The closest thing to "current" is what's available via dcuobloguide.com... but even that isn't as current as it could be because the API doesn't return anything after Episode 25 (Iceberg Lounge and A Rip in Time).

That's the app...which was ONLY available for the vaunted iOS and never EVER saw the light of day on Android. Just tossed to the side like a red-headed stepchild (probably got K.I.A. along with the UI revamp).
