Why are HLs combos still broken?

    Before I switched to Celestial (Yesterday) they were working just fine for me on PS3.

    The combos were changed in GU43 or something weren't they to have new combo strings? Were old combo strings removed for the new ones? Maybe he never read the patch notes.

    Only thing that the majority of players are having trouble with and seems off is: Claw >Final claw(hold melee) > next construct. The input window for the next construct after final claw needs to be extended/looked at

    The only people that seem to have that problem are playing with a controller, as far as I can tell.

    I can start a combo. Then after 2 light combos i go into a weapon attack. Ram and, mini gun is the 1 i use the most. After ram ill just do a weapon ranged attack alot more then being allowed to use mini gun. Last time i checked that is suppose to also be a very easy light combo to do. I have other light conbos that just quit.

    Are you waiting too long to use Ram after Minigun? You will lose your input window if you let Minigun last for too long. I've had this problem too when maximizing Minigun ticks.

    I play on a controller and don't notice this issue. I find this a better timing than trying to time Minigun after Light Blast's last tick and to Ram after Minigun's last tick.

    Aside for the constant knockback on melee combos melee has been easier to optimally execute than range input-wise for me.

    The second after i use ram i hold range so i can use minigun with the combo. Nvm its light claws and mini gun. I barely play my HL toon because of this. It's light claws and mini gun i use the most. i tried a solo with my HL toon last night.

    Well it's not broken, you're just missing the windows. It seems you hardly play your HL toon since you thought ram combo into mini guns. And as far as claw into mini guns, the key is to hold range when you want to combo not when the claw animation is done. Just practice and you'll get it.

    Ram goes into fan (tap range) or light blast (hold range)

    Since you can't use WM and HL together, since crit bonuses for infinite combos won't max out with this... i simply don't use weapon attacks anymore. Instead i use both HL AM's- ik listen up :)

    Start with chompers clipped w/ inspiration [starts power refund] then straight into the infinite combo: Snap trap > fan > (impact > light blast > miniguns > ram ) > fan then repeat ( Impact> LB> miniguns> ram) It's infinite. You only get power refund on snap trap but it covers 1/2 you power use basically since the infinite combo once started uses no power. :)

    Well if you use the infinite combo there's no point in using power refund to the max... when i use chompers/inspiration > snap trap gives me 700-1100k power back. This doesn't cover the full power cost of entire cast but once you start infinite combo power is never again an issue. Chompers gives snap trap extra damage so i just clip chompers with inspiration then hit snap trap, which then returns that 700-1100k i mentioned. I NEVER use weapon attacks with HL outside duos because it takes away about sec/2 sec of dps that could be used towards the infinite combo attack and if you invested ANY sp in WM you don't get the escalating crits from the combo AM. Pair this AM with relentless precision and it's just nasty.

    Admitily,I do get out-dps a lot on this toon but that's because this is a primary troll toon, 4th alt and is about 30 sp from my mains, so he's never geared 100% and is just for looks lol. He was created when WoL pt 1 launched. To save me face, even though I get out-dps a lot is by very little AND I'm going against peoples' mains that are 100% geared and modded.

    I'm very confident that if I invested that extra 30 sp and time towards gearing up I'd be unreachable. Sad thing though... I'm not going to do that Lol. I HATE powers that are so OP & HL's combo AM by far the most boring thing in DCUO. I keep him tiered up and active only because I love this tribute toon. I also have a sorcery/celestial Faust toon and an earth toon tribute to LinBeiFong from Avatar legend of Korra.

    If is in controller role, i have no issues either. I always use IMPACT for PoT -> then use HL combos till i release Ram then clip Recharge, then whatever comes next is random.. debuffing with Light Blast (Defense Debuff) or Grasping Hand (Damage Output) what HL power is, i try to create my own combo cycle as all are well connected..

    I barely use Claws for solo instances.. but on DPS role.. but nah..

    Yeah, I admit I dont play in troller role, but I would imagine that theres nothing truly broken with combowindows, just that people are missing the input windows. I have not had any broken combos that I could not trace back to my own mistake so far, and I have tried to experiment with all kinds of different combos. Some of the inputs need to be inputted almost before you actually see the previous power animate, but there always seems to be a timing with which the combo does work.

    I say theres nothing truly wrong with the combos.

    It helps but I remember light claws and miniguns i use most to start the combos. Glitches don't make it infinite. Can you tell me if this is an issue on ps4?
