Whats wrong with my Celestial Healing Loadout?

So after being a troll for years I decided to have a break and try my hand at healing (made an alt) never been anything other then a troll before, was doing a PBG run, we wipe the first time for various reasons, we go to start again and another players stops us and tells me to sort my loadout out, obviously I cant change much in the middle of a raid so we continue and finish it quite easily

    Loadout:
Admonish, Renew, Blessing, Guardians Light, Divine Light, Consume Soul

Never had an issue healing so far with this loadout

Pretty standard full heal loadout. Personally I'd drop guardians light for either a SC or Maldiction>Benediction (if you want to try battle healing).

And always remember people will complain when they die, but you can't heal stupid. Watch what happened if it was your fault then compensate next time. If the other player walked into a 1 shot and expected you to heal them then that's there own fault.

You could also try the full on battle healer route and go with something like admonish, Maldiction>benediction, anoint, blessing, consume souls, cursed idol.

Cursed benediction adds a HoT to you group that has heal ticks equal to the prec dmg you dealt. It ticks every 2 seconds for a 12 second period and can be recast right away. The heal ticks will cap out at your restoration+1 so the more dmg you do the bigger the HoT.

I guess you were solo healing? Problem was likely the other players playing recklessly.

Battle healing kinda takes a full revamp of his SP and gear though. It's fun and most definitely very OP. He should look into it, though it does require about 100SP to begin to be really effective.

OP, like Derp said, your loadout is very standard for a full resto healer setup. My questions for you are... what is your resto and can you give an example of a rotation you'd use to setup heals and what powers would you use (clip?) to respond to emergencies. Also, how are you working WM into things, if you are at all?

Drop guardians light grab malediction. When u combo it ur damage while the buff is up will be converted to heals. Clip it with consume soul spam wm combos and as long as ur not interupted on the combo will keep an entire raid topped off. When u get more comfortable drop blessing as well. My loadout is renew, malediction, admonish, anoint, divine light, consume soul. Benediction and blight are the only things i combo to.

This is great stuff. But, for the OP to be effective at it... he has to reallocate his skill points and also work on remodding his gear. If he can't put out good prec numbers, his McB HoT will be #frownyface. :p

Actually as hard as wm is hitting you should be able to get by with less prec. Arrow fling is pretty nice. And it will def inc his healing capabilities if used properly wo any sp changes as long as he picked up wm. It just outweighs guardian in my eyes all around and the supercharges as well.

I actually avoid 3-button WM combos for battle healing. They hit very hard, but are spaced as such that the HoT yoyos more than I'd like. I've been aiming for consistent HoTs lately, just to see how high I can get them and for how long. At my resto/prect 5200/1200 with soders and trinkets, I can get several ticks maxed by my resto while fighting mobs. It's been good fun.

Drop guardians light hands down your #1 thing to do. Malediction to benediction is very good considering with WM now hitting very hard.

Assuming you are just plain resto specced healer then

Divine light, blessing, renew, admonish-->blight, consume soul, supercharge( or malediction to benediction its your choice).

Like others said above me look into battle healing to be able to defend yourself and just experiment with different loadouts.
Timing combos is key with celestial and maintaining HoT. But what everyone else above me said is true.

I would just love to see video of you battle healing. It's so nice to see another approach. xD

Here is an example of a battle healing type loadout that works well with other situations. I switch to a different loadout about midfight to show another style of fighting with different abilities and showing Celestial DoTs as well as WM combos that work extremely well along with how many numbers you can get.

Please please please ignore the fact that I outdamage the rage dps and she was buffing my precision to over 2k the entire alert. I believe this is a 37 min run of TD, we took a break a couple of times before because our tank froze.

Nice! Do you ever upload in a higher res? It was hard to make out much of what was going on. I'd love to be able to see the ticks from McB. I've been recording my battles and watching portions in slowmo, so I can count the ticks and compare them to other approaches.

Nice to see you using other Cel combs (CS-WotP). I've been dabbling with that one to heal the amazons. I don't combo it much, and when I do, I need to practice being closer to the enemies. I'll work on that one, cuz I'm sure it will add to my McB HoT. I need to get back in the habit of recording my runs, so I can compare how each combo benefits vs. just WM.

Here's one of me using 2 different loadouts. First is my MegaHoT loadout:
Anoint, AcB, Blessing, CScWotP, DLcP, WotPcCS
it's very fun and hugely rotation based. About halfway through, I switch to my boss-fight battle-heal loadout:
Anoint, AcB, Blessing, CI, DLcP, McB

Yea i recorded my runs with celestial vs electric with WM and the damage out from celestial was significantly lower by more than 500k due to the fact that I kept having to go through combos while electric was instant and then back into WM combo. Did multiple runs because sometimes you have bad runs so I took the best out of 5 runs. This is an old video of when TD was still brand new and people were running with healers and I was experimenting with recording on the PS4.

Still testing nature but so far electric, nature, celestial(using limited combos such as admonish to blight and mal->ben only), sorcery(without life shard) is the order for the damage potential with WM and the individual powerset.

Kind of solo healing, there was another healer but they weren't over helpful and the other players did have a thing for standing in Metas electric field

Lol Yup. You can't heal stupid, but people always expect you to be able to.

At the time I was cr84 sp88, HB WM (I've always used HB even as a troll), Resto 2100?, I use Admonish rarely in raids so I usually cast Consume Soul to keep them topped up once they start losing abit of health, if someones taking fair bit of damage I clip with Renew, when it really hits the fan I cast Divine Light and clip with Blessing followed by Consume Soul clipped with Renew if needed and this is probably incredibly wrong to do but because I'm SS a speed jump from one side to the other comboing Admonish in mid-air since it only gets 3 people lol
  17. Rhinosus13 Loyal Player

I will be getting into battle healing but I want to want to I'm comfortable just healing

You seem to be doing quite fine then. You've planned out your heals and have reactions to different situations.

Nothing in Celestial requires proximity. So, Admonish is going to heal you plus the 3 most injured team mates. You don't need to jump to make sure it hits certain people, unless... you enjoy jumping. :p

I'm sold on Brawling. With Hand Clap to Shuriken Storm, I can get my hit counter up to the 30s, even single target, during the McB period. Hits everything in front of me and the heals were popping 1k+ per tick. I'm thinking about dropping my resto further in favor of precision. I've changed to the Relentless Precision neck mod now, as well.
