What's with the late notices of weekly specials?

We used to get advanced notice of what is coming on Tuesday's weekly reset so players can plan accordingly. But lately the notice has been on the day or even the next day. Why is it delayed that way? Is it because the devs want to ensure it happens before they announce it in case they have to roll it back?

Getting advanced notice would really help plan the week accordingly. Won't have to miss out because of bad time management (still sore on missing Stabalizer day).

Mepps had periods where he didn't give us advanced noticed either.

Last 3-4 weeks I've noticed advanced notice seems to be Creator League's (Eve's) job now. She's been giving info on the Bonus in her videos.

I feel like it’s just neglect and not any strategic reason. I believe they’d stated before that they will try to have more communication with the community. But that’s just been getting more and more downhill. To the point we’ve even started getting more information from outside sources (like the comic interview). So idk (or I doubt) if it’s for strategic reasons.

It's a choice one way or another but I do agree its more likely due to neglect than anything else.

I could argue also why I think that neglect exists but it would be pointless and fruitless.

Again transparency in general would be nice... I just don't believe were going to get it.

Some of us knew in advance because we are on the official Discord and because the creator league video (Metanine ) was release 10 days ago at 0:12

I know I don't care that much but I know some of you guys care waaaaay too much so let's lay it out.

I've stated I'd like the information just posted on Friday. It's clean. It's professional. It's laid out in front of me to read myself and it's not being read to me.
I also recognize they're trying to be kind by involving the creator league and give them some of the meat we like to chew on.
Both things are true.

The fact is, we haven't been lacking the information because the information has always been out there the Friday before, but you have to access the creator league (namely Eve) to get it. Multi probably has his video of what's coming out too.
BB posted the info on Friday. Triple Mogo Berries. Content update. Whole bunch of base items.

If they'd like to do it this way, I think ideally they should try to get in a good groove.
The creator league can post their info on Friday, but I think they should try to make a concentrated effort to have the official announcement posted...ideally Monday morning when they get into work, but as long as it's posted before it goes live (usually on the EU server first if not congruent) on Monday they'll escape not so much my wrath because I don't care but yours.
That way you guys can still "hey that's the Cloak of Eternity!" over the weekend, they can still yoink it by Monday, and if they get in the habit of it being officially posted on Monday, nobody has any right to complain.

You will need to find an alternate source of information if you want to have advanced notice.

Friday during Live at Five we learned about the new update and the 3x Currency and were already talking about it during the LiveStream.
So I was able to make a video about it right after the LiveStream.

Whether by choice.... neglect..... or anything else......
does not really matter.... the result is the same.

It is obvious by now that we will not get an official announcement ahead of time.
So.... we need to get information other ways.
Discord?? YouTube??? other??

I am fortunate... I have a small army keeping me informed...
So we knew about the new update Friday during Live at Five.

Could be the Devs do not see the importance to know ahead of time?
Maybe They don't realize that some people have a busy schedule????... and knowing ahead of time allows people to plan their game time??

And I won't mention YouTube creators who need to plan ahead to produce their videos....

Can our Community Manager maybe interact with the Community?

I’m on at 8am and just now hearing about this upcoming triple currency. Daily reset is in under an hour. Had I not known this I would’ve ran the dailies and been loot locked from the bonus.

This isn’t professional or acceptable. Going through Gotham City on here is page after page after page of neglect by any green names. These are forums, the whole point to being on here should be to get updates on the game and to give feedback. At this point if all we wanted was to gossip with other players we have LFG chat or Discord. If they aren’t going to do their jobs then hire someone that will or shut it down.

It’s also incredibly lazy to brush off your job and obligations onto unpaid help by having some random Youtubers doing what the devs themselves should be doing. It’s tacky.

That is pretty much how Channels like mine were created.
To fill in the void... to give players Info that we would not get from the Devs.

Wayy back when Spytle mentioned how wayyyyyy too many people would quit the game in the first Brainiac mission....

And that is when I saw an opportunity....

There has always been a demand for more information...... tutorials.... and More!!!

And that is why Channels like mine exist.

And it would seem we are needed now more then ever.

Love your work, Multi. And I did watch Metanite's video, but I must have zoned out at the bit about triple currency, lol. I found out about it because someone shouted in LFG. But then I could not find an announcement until I went back to the video and it was in between things I am less interested in (or at any rate will get around to in good time) like new styles. Which look nice, btw.

I know that in Mepps' day the announcements were also often quite late, by which I mean they were only a few hours before reset, but they were ANNOUNCEMENTS!!! There was an entry in the appropriate section, and usually a listing under latest news at start up. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the login screen with the Aftershock detail was added with the server restart, so there's that 5 hour window after daily/weekly mission reset where there was no abundantly clear info, and people who were unaware would have been doing their Mogo weeklies.

Mind you, triple currency is so good I might just buy a bunch more replays and really go to town.

Before Mepps was laid off, that was the direction we got with announcements. Honestly, the CL members being able to give us a teaser on Friday nights is actually more than what we were getting for a couple of years now.

I think they do this intentionally, so players don't have time to prepare and more inclined to pay full price for something. It's the same reason why we NEVER get advanced notices on Marketplace sales.

They said that the forums wasn't how they was gonna communicate mainly a while back. We knew last week on the dc discord forums about today. They said social media and discord will be the main way to communicate with them. The discord has 10x the traffic over this forum. Probably already at 25+ in msg and conversations this morning. I know some don't want to use it because it has a police bot but there is a reason for it. Truth is this forums only connects to the same small group. best use is reporting bugs in game

I believe Voltera has talked about using several channels. Not doing away with the forums but using discord, X, Facebook etc. as well.

The announcements section on the Discord server has the same information as the forum here. The problem is the lack of an Announcements policy and protocol, not the privileging of one forum over another, apart from individual preferences that may lead to additional clarifying information being in the Discord space but not elsewhere.

I tried Gotham City on Discord again today. Fine if you want to chat, a complete waste of time otherwise. Signal to noise ratio is abysmal.

To be fair, before joining the creator league, your videos about events etc. were you reading the latest news that everyone got access to at the same time as you when opening the client, which were updated at least 3- 4 days before it was actived, but now we see only the latest news changes the same day or the day after.
I remember joking about reading latest new myself in 30 sec or watching your video who last 3 minutes talking about it mentionning when or where

You use to show the latest news tab at begin of your video back then and say lets talk about it

I know it's hard to believe.... but....
Many players never visit the DCUO Forums.

So.... for many of them.... watching my videos is how they got the information.

I make a lot of videos......
At some point I was making 1...2... 3 videos per day.....
but if you want to focus on the One video a Week where I share the News to other players.... your choice.

Also.... wayyyy back when....
when something was added to the test server we could show it to people weeks in advance.

Not to mention sometimes exclusive information sometimes..... like the Batman Beyond style.

I would have had to wait for Saturday 3AM EST before making my Fearful Day AfterShock video...
Sadly..... 3AM EST is Not a Good time for me to post a video on YouTube.....
almost none of my audience are Online at 3AM EST.

But now.....
Once we learned during Live at Five about the Aftershock event....
I could make my video Friday night before everyone else.

This has become a very bad thing. The Devs are very much neglecting their players. their fans, their community. we have to learn about this from 3rd party source. like Multiverse, and metanite. they don't work for Daybreak.

The community manager at the least need to be I don't know Communicating with us? New boss, New feats, New event and guess what no sign of a post or a update on whats new or anything.
They may as well give Multiverse and Metaniite and everyone else on The creatore league and in the discord a monthly paycjeck for doing thier job for them.

I am part of the official Discord and have an alert on the Announcements. Sadly the lack of announcement was my concern.

Unfortunately i didn't see the Livestream and missed your video as well. My YT didn't notify me of a new video of yours. Or maybe it did and I missed it. I mainly checked the Discord announcement and there wasn't any about this week. Last week Stabalizer happened after it was already active.

That was kind of my point apparently that wasn't made clear.

Granted I did state saying all the reasons why would be pointless and fruitless, which anyway you hash it, still is.

Although I will state, any game that has an official forum than relying on discord to spread their word, well that should just be looked as a whole, other games do not require this or need it.
