Whats Going wrong in DCUO [from a player of 4+ years]

There were youtubers who openly admitted to it. Kaiser007 (guy who made K007 mainstream) and Omar (Omar's HL DPS Guide) both admitted to using macro's (through their mouse but still a multisequence macro). I didn't say that to poke at anyone just a fact that people were doing it. The fact that high end players were macroing shows to the level of difficulty these combos had to execute and not get into death range.

Edit: keep in mind macros dont always come from a 3rd party program, some gaming controller and mouse have the abilty to emulate squences of up to 100 button presses with perfect acuraccy on timing. The game would only pick this up as a player doing REALLY well, but all comands would look legit on a log.

Omar was on USPS...unless he had 2 separate accounts and systems

I do wonder just how many of the staunch "clipper-lovers" are/were HL. What they conveniently don't say is that clipping potential varied greatly between powers.

So true, it hurts. There's no crying emote, so I'll just add a gif-

Shoot, I had forgotten how much fun I used to have with hard light...

Yeah, I'm not a fan of clipping, but I am a fan of variety. AM leaves a lot to be desired in that regard.

Well, if "balance" ever achieved maybe we could get some AM variety. As it stands though, they'll never stop balancing.

I really wish they'd not gone the route they did. They could have made the animations necessary and just fine tuned damage from the power sets. It probably would have taken them as much time as all this other stuff they've done.

He played both and used a high end gaming mouse on PC.

Most clip fans probably were HL or gadgets back in the day (the heaviest clippers back then). I do miss more than anything the variety. There were a multitude on combos that HL was using at the time for situations that varried (K007 was for Dox mostly but not as good in Nexus there the snap>fan fan combo did better). Today it seems that only HL offers variety because the combos can be interchanged for about the same dmg. If they would buff HL it would easily become FoTM becuause of the variety imo.

Man...how frigging true is this statement "This game is a lot more fun, before you realize you're doing it all wrong!" !!!

It's not just the inconsistency that was an issue - the game actually looked broken.
The revamp to combat mechanics is solid - and a work in progress. Constantly dragging up the past has no benefit.

    I hope that's a joke. I sincerely hope that's a joke.
I got aspergers. I can't tell when people are joking.

Is that legit? Oh my glob, if so-

Man, he better not be retired- we love you Monarch!

(Edit: to be precise, I don't think I EVER played ingame with him, but if he's done, that makes me a lot less optimistic about the game...when the people you like all get fed up and after years just say "you know what, I'm done" it's seriously disheartening.)

What i hate about this "new system is friendlier on new players" argument, is that it treats new players like they are helpless and unable to think...at all.

I've loved MMOs for the longest time, I started my first one without any knowledge of how it worked, and I failed hard...then I failed harder...and then I kept failing until eventually I started to get good at it. This new thing of putting the "new players" infront of me, seems like only an excuse for "it's easier for me", honestly, it wasn't rocket science back then.

I recently unsubbed, because lately, my gaming experiece became this:
    1.- log
2.- assemble a group/raid (this step can take too long)
    3.- press 1234
4.- pray/ check loot/ equip loot if any
5.- replay/wait a week (mind you, you may wait the week only to STILL find green gear...oh and that elite you unlocked?...yeah, it's hilaiou$ly and conveniently locked)

As someone else pointed out, it's kind of insulting to pay your membership only to be slapped in the face with more paywalls..which may conveniently yield nothing but wasted time and more paywalls and silly excuses like "Theres the vendor gear which totally helps (except it doesnt because CR is life now)".

Got screwed over one too many times man.
    Im not logging in.
Tried to get my OG Radiant back and my bytes, but they said they cant and wont do anything about it.
They said the same thing when I was hacked.. not once.. not twice... but three times.
    Im done.

I'm not a fan of the new setup. AM's have caused most powers to become 1 loadout or suffer dmg reduction, players spam 1234 and NEVER move their feet, players dont go for objectives with the 1234 setup nearly as often as before. The 1234 setup is without a doubt a horrible replacement for what we had. Sure the have had issues but it had since never been better, population numbers alone show that. We bring up the past in hopes that the devs will push to create am environment like the one we had then with less restriction. Over time we have been restricted more and more. This had cause players to feel restricted and thus causing then to leave. The more open to creativity a game feels the more it thrives.

WM and AM may have been successful if they would have been what they were promised (an alternative) instead of a complete replacement of the predecessor. Why bother adding WM as an "alternative" causing the base combat system to be replaced only to add AM's as another "alternate" that replaced WM. WM is no longer viable, therefore it was never needed and a complete waste of money, time, and resources that could have been better used to balance the game as it was like the players asked. No one asked for this garbage to be dumped on us, they just did it.

Also this...the support given to players is...yeah...

I actually intended to try the h1z1 game, but i kid you not, just realizing it was also a Daybreak game was enough deterrent. :/

That's fair. Man, they done effed up.
Losing you, losing Enquirer, losing so many of the player base that was so loyal...
Customer service is EXTREMELY important, and can make or break the game, or even a gamesite as a whole.

If you want people to keep spending time and money, you better keep making them feel like it's worth their time and money to do so.
Not saying wait on them hand and foot, but if they get hacked or some bizz like that...I mean, wtf are they even getting paid for, if not to assist in this exact scenario?

How'd you get hacked man? (Private message me if you wanna talk about it)
