i trolled new content at 132 pretty easy as long as your a skilled player so you can be any cr and still do your role good as long as it's not tanking or dpsing.

This is true. Perhaps controllers should be more crowd control and debuffs, less power restore focused?
I mean, that is a controller's TRUE role after all.

Can you confirm, based on your comments: It cost 500 scraps to make the mask, so it cost 1000 scraps to make the back?

Also, here is where I think the R&D process went wrong: you added in a RNG system on salvaged items. Example, I can salvage a green gear item and get 2 scraps, my leaguemate can salvage the exact same item and get 124 scraps or more. That is adding a bad luck salvage RNG to an already bad RNG system. The salvaged gear should have had a set number(not saying these numbers are right ones to assign), but something like: green gear is worth 15 scraps, blue gear 25, purple gear 30 scraps and those numbers stat the same. Not this " I got 124 scraps for 1 item, and my leaguemate got 2 scraps for the exact same thing".

Sure, but clipping wouldn't be what it used to be due to the dovetail animations they require with nearly all abilities now. I wasn't a big fan of clipping either; why remove the animation for a power in a superhero game? But I loved that I could set up my power interactions and then do damage with both my powers and weapons in tandem. I just want a viable way to damage with all powers that involves a 50/50 power/weapon interaction. Right now, we have weapon mastery - 25/75 power/weapon and AMs - 100/0 power/weapon (in most cases).

A lot of people say that, but Spytle had said numerous times that it was an intended gameplay mechanic. Yes, everyone is entitled to their opinions. I just believe that if someone cares enough to be on top of the scoreboard then they should care enough to put the time and effort into maximizing their damage output instead of just relying on a 4 button, or 1 button sequence.

    On that matter, I agree.

I just think a new system should be introduced.

One that requires top effort to do top damage...
    but not clipping.

No one cares though. It's all about CR. The damage you take in is determined by CR. So one death, and they'll say it's cause you're too low (even if it's a one shot, because people are stupid :p )

I think the chances a new dps system gets introduced are slim to none.I think they intended on WM on being the option that you are speaking of, but overpowered AM far too much and then never went back to rebalance WM.

I personally had some of the my best times in this game while using a clipping powerset which is the main reason I'm such an advocate for it. All in all, I don't see clipping ever being viable again in this game, which I'm sad about, mostly because of DBG's lack of balance proficiency. AM's aren't balanced as is, let alone having 2 other ways to damage along with it.

Well, then you're not talking about clipping at all here. You'rejust asking for the original combat mechanics back. That I can get down with.

They made an enormous mistake with WM. We know it, and they know it. Then AM's came out and we're just as big a mistake.

The thing here is that there was no reason to ever change the combat system. All they ever had to do was fix the ability to clip powers the way they were.

Just like everything else, they have to reinvent the wheel, make it square, then try to convince us it's better. All this ever does is make us think they're out of touch.

For every major mistake there has been, I've seen a hundred posts beforehand properly explaining why thing won't work.

See though my point is one of the BIG important things that MMOs live and die by is the community that they cultivate... Players are part of the game. Sticking players behind a paywall is not the best way to promote the healthy game populations, much less increase player retention... (Doesn't matter what side of the pay wall you fall on, dividing players at all effectively increases queue times, decreases the number of potential friends that you can enjoy content with... and leaves you with what is effectively a smaller population.(Doesn't matter if you have two million players, if the FTP players make up more than two thirds of your playerbase, you start loosing end game players well... They are gonna think the overall population is shrinking whether it is or not.(Why? Because there aren't as many people on their side of the pay wall to play with and it just isn't worth their time and money to wander back into the free content and the Devs aren't using the free players to mask the possible decrease in paying customers...)

Welcome to the times of today, where imagination is your only limit! This is something someone build for "Elite Dangerous". And pretty much; yes, I need an improved version of that once Star Citizen is fully and officially released!

Well they should... The more the community is divided the smaller the player-base feels.(Regardless of whether it is actually getting smaller or not. You divide a big group in half well neither half will end up feeling like their group has gotten smaller even if both groups together are the same size as the original big group...)

MMOs are all about having plenty of players to chose from... Dividing players into groups tends to decrease the number of viable group options they can access.(Which makes them less likely to stick around much less spend money on your game.)

I think it went wrong with CR being boosted up in a day with replay badges. I'm glad they stopped changing marks and made all of them the same basic cost but it used to take a week for a piece of vendor armor (if you worked or had a life)... I don't miss that grind but allow players to jump 10+ CR with replays as much as they can afford turns it into a bore and chore and creates delusional players. It's great you're a high CR but you honestly don't know what's going on in the game. Most times when a low CR replays their back out they're carried until they get to a decent CR but missed out on feats because they're just rushing to the next tier. One thing I really miss is needing to follow through with 'mechanics' and puzzles.

Inner Sanctum used to be SUPER hard and went on for way too long simply because players didn't pay attention to killing repair bots or even play-base rules were fun like in Gates it was decided to rant "Troll get the spears!!". Sure in Halls of Hades there's a moment where roles have to find their spot or have to wear certain armor but it's pretty optional with or without an OP group. I miss having more puzzles needing to be completed or it's a wipe.

I said what I said and I meant it. I want all players of all skill levels to be able to do viable damage.

I would want to play the old way and get the same damage (at most, SLIGHTLY more) as the AM rotation, with obvious adjustments to power return when you play that way. I'll always understand why they added in AMs and WM, I just hate that it eliminated clipping. If I can play a fun playstyle and compete without being OP or underpowered, then I'll take it.

I think it's interesting that this person thought 6 weeks was too long in order to complete an ENTIRE set. Very telling.

In reality, this is exactly how it should work. Regardless if you want it to be otherwise, end game players play to get all available gear during the time an Episode is out.

Therefore, the crafting alternative should be based on the scenario. So, two extra weeks to obtain the gear via crafting seems just about right.

I know the intention was NOT to supplement the current system, but seeing as how many people dislike the random nonsense, and only having a single instance to play at any given time, this would be a nice option.

I use Replays and I think they are great.

I do not have time to play every day for an extended period, maybe the Vault and a quick 10 min something.

But I do have the opportunity to run longer instances on the weekend. Before Replays, I would have to hope that someone wants to run the content either locked or they didn't have a chance to play since Thursday's reset.

With Replays, I can not only find plenty of players to run with, I can also run something several times (and get SP up on my alts).

If you don't pace yourself, and burn out content before it becomes available for the general playerbase, it is on you, not on Replays.
