What will "League Halls" mean for players who don't want a 'Real' League?

Not crushing in any way. Though I wish they were i understand why they are not......

......and I'm ok with that. :)

I think league love is long over due. But then I'm lucky enough to be in a great league. :)

Agreed, as I posted earlier, in the game's current state, someone can be full Strategos and full Android without ever being in a group. It's led to a huge sense of entitlement in some players. I simply don't care for the disrespectful manner in which some people here are arguing against League Halls.

I can absolutely appreciate why some people don't want to be in leagues. Really, I can. I've run solo plenty of times. However, as Feenicks and I both just stated, it's very similar to PVP. It's a feature you can choose to use or not to use. If you choose not to use it, then you simply need to accept that you won't reap the full benefits the system has to offer.

Honestly, what if someone started a thread demanding to be awarded all PVP feats with MoT because they just don't like to PVP? They'd be savaged. I hardly claim to be the game's best PVPer, but I love it, and realizing there were feats attached is why I started PVPing in the first place. I'm incredibly glad I did. Hopefully this brings more people into leagues, and they also enjoy the experience.

I seldom PvP. When I do it's usually legends (equal footing). I hate the races and don't do them. Toyman missions? Pushaw!

Do I complain because my choices exclude me from feats and bonuses? Nope! I don't even buy feat unlocks from my alts!

I'm an adult. I fully realize there are pros and cons attached to my decisions.

PVP feats can be obtained and then you never have to run PVP again. League exclusive bonuses require you stay in a league for the foreseeable future.

I don't understand why people keep using this argument. The bonuses need to be earned. The prestige costs are up there. It takes multiple people pitching in to get the bonuses.

If you want the bonuses, save up prestige and buy a league hall. Want to do it yourself? Go ahead, it'll take a while. Don't be upset that people joined together to get it done more efficiently. That's really on you, nobody else.

If a big part of the game required you to be on your own, I wouldn't complain.
Just like now there would be people complaining, there are always are people that want to add their two cents. The thing is though, leagues have been around since the start, lacking the importance and never receiving much love. Now they are actually the center of something and it looks like people are crawling out of their holes and wondering what leagues are. Not all are the same. I think the majority can share bad experiences with them.

Nope. It's called PVP seasons with new gear and new style feats. Try again son?
  9. Fel1x90 New Player

You can't compare these two. I don't like PvP but i do it to get the feats, i get them and won't run this stuff again till the next PVP season.

However if you love PvE but don't like being in a league, then you are forced to join and stay in one to get the stat bonuses.

I like the league halls, but i don't see a need of stat bonuses for leagues, it should be removed.

It is a personal choice to be in a league, but it is a league choice to actually get the prestige... and the bonuses that I would actually want.
    • If I'm low on the totem-pole ranking, do I have any choice of what bonuses I get? Doubtful. Is their a voting system?
    • If I'm in a PvP-centric league, and I'm great friends with all of them, yet they rarely decorate lairs or run PvE, do I have to switch leagues because I want the bonuses?
    • I could just join a larger league and reap the benefits of bonuses without actually doing anything, unlike the choice of not doing PvP and not getting the Feats. You actually have to do something to get those feats other than accepting an invitation.
I see folks trying to even downplay the actual bonuses, so if that's so true then it wouldn't be so bad if they didn't happen. You all survived this long without them.

To me, it's not a matter if you have a great league, a crap one, or no league at all due to whatever circumstances. It's the fact that the Devs want to add a feature under the guise it's going to make a better overall community. It's the "I should join a league because we will all work together to get these not gamebreaking bonuses." I doubt that too. The DCUO Community is also known for doing the path-of-least-resistance. Maybe the few few months some leagues will be gung-ho about the bonuses scrambling for all 13 Proficiencies, then after a while they'll just go, "Not really worth the effort or headaches of pleasing the leagues' choices of bonuses."

A League Management System? Fantastic. That's been needed since day one. A League Hall? I guess that's useful. Not as if a league could've just convened at anyone's Lair, which I doubt anyone does either. To me, it's just another place to decorate and play house. Obviously I haven't researched any other reason to be in the Hall. Amenities? Show off to other players how great your league is? League battles?

All of your issues are people issues, not tech issues. The devs don't play the game for us. They gave us features that we can choose to use however we see fit. How you interact within the community has nothing to do with the tech they are giving us. It's up to you on how you decide to best utilize it.

I keep hearing people say that they need to join a big league. Make one yourself. You won't have any of the issues you presented and you will be able to utilize the update.

That's entirely my point. The bonuses are supposed to be an incentive to make or join a league, which ideally solves a "people issue." It won't, and there's no reason to resort to such gimmicks. You don't make an exclusive bonus just because, there's an underlying reason. I'm just questioning why they're going out of their way to create a whole new stat-effecting bonus system based on joining a league. Just being in a league not enough? They don't believe players are socially interacting without being in one?

Make my own league? I still have to deal with people, except now I have the added responsibility of sifting through all the different players with their wants, needs, drama, and issues. Are we getting the right bonuses? Are we doing enough missions/decorating for Prestige Points? How are we going to decorate our Hall?

Making or joining a league, sure that's easy. The hard part is making sure I'm in a quality league based on... People Issues.

As per always, I've weighed in on a lot of changes. They still go through. Some folks are always optimistic about them. Month(s) later, it's noticed what a complete trainwreck it was. Then another update which solves one problems, adds four more.

If you like the Prestige system, good. It's going to happen regardless. I just hope all your Leagues are coordinated enough to gain and use them. And the impending update because of the imbalance complaints that will most likely happen. A stat-effecting bonus, regardless on how insignificant, is still another mathematical factor on how damage, healing, or whatever is calculated.

Guys... Raging about things you know nothing about mechanics wise is plain old silly.

From the numbers Tunso released yesterday I would say I personally would easily hardcap prestige in 2 playsessions per week in a solo league. It's very casual
  15. The Doctor Loyal Player

You can easily compare them, easily. The amount of time required to obtain every PVP feat in the game takes a substantial, huge amount of time and effort. If anything, obtaining the league buff will be a minuscule effort in comparison. It's a silly stance to take that they don't compare. Hitting the hard cap for these league halls is going to be very very easy for most active leagues.

Truth of the matter is that it's happening. It's in motion and isn't going to stop.
  16. Prosser Dedicated Player

You can totally compare the two. I hate the pvp in this game, so I don't do it. maybe once a week I will que up for a match as i need the feats, then I'm reminded I hate the pvp and I stop. I have maybe 2 feats from pvp, but since I choose not to do it -same as you choose not to join a league- I don't have the pvp feats and get left behind.

If I want those feats, I am forced to do pvp. same as if you want the stat boosts from league halls you are forced to join a league. A league which you would have to do nothing once you joined (if it was a decent size) where as I don't get the pvp feats handed to me, I would still have to actually play pvp. If anything, you are getting off far easier with the league buffs then i do trying to get pvp feats.

Why are you looking at it as incentive? I don't think they care if you join a league or not. From what I understand people have been asking for something like this for a while.

It isn't exclusive, you have access to it. You seem to not want to hassle with the work it takes to utilize it. That's on you.

The only reason people would be able to really complain about the boosts is if they were allowed in PVP. The stat increases don't directly impact you. Why even be upset about it?

But you do get a stat bonus... from your lair!!!. Or don't you want that either? The game is not meant for individuals to play it like a single player game. And if you insist on not joining a bunch of friend to create a league fine create your own single player league, just remember many hands make light work.

Thanks a bunch for taking the time for your input.

Its funny because I started out as a Tank when I first started but then I noticed how there were very few Controllers and how most were not even throwing pot and I was like, I need to become a Controller and aid other groups. Mind you, this was back in 2012.

Even though I love being a Controller but have considered another role. I don't want to dual role with armories as I just want to play as one role. As far as those leagues go, I have thick skin but still some players are a bit extra on the mic lol.

I am curious though, has anyone used two Tanks in a Raid/Alert since GU38 took away Tanks/Healer damage penalty?

Have a Happy 4th of July.
