What will "League Halls" mean for players who don't want a 'Real' League?

I've been skimming the new Threads for League Halls and wondering how things like Prestige and Proficiencies
are going to change the game.

Sure, Leagues Halls sound awesome and I'm quite excited about a league base and extra bank space, but I'm the only 'person' in my league... Will I be able to earn enough prestige (in a reasonable time) to maintain or purchase anything?

As much as the Devs and most players are excited for league halls I hope that the devs have considered that - not everyone wants to be in a "Real" league.

Hopefully, the GU39 live stream will answer the question of what League Halls means for all players and not just those in large leagues.

    I hope not!

Never been in a league and have no plans or need to join one, that should not exclude me from certain content.

As in most mmos solo players can only go so far without a league. From reading the notes you will be able to get most of the stuff over time except the Proficencies. They will require a monthly prestige cost. Even then they will not be required to complete content so I don't see a huge problem here.

Well...it is called LEAGUE HALLS for a reason, right?
Otherwise it would be Lonely Halls, or something like that.

That's kind of the point... it appears that individual players may be excluded from the proficiency stat bonuses...
These are worthwhile bonuses... and it seems a little unfair force players to join a large league to get them.

    • +3% Damage Out
    • +3% Damage Out when below 30% Health
    • +1% Critical Attack Chance & Damage
    • +3% Healing Out
    • +1% Critical Healing and Power Healing Chance & Magnitude
    • +3% Healing Received
    • +3% Power Received
    • +5% Health
    • +5% Power & Supercharge
    • +3% Might & Precision
    • +3% Dominance, Restoration, and Vitalization
    • +3% Control Resistance
    • +1% Out of Combat Power Regen Per Second & +4% Out of Combat Health Regen Per Second

Now that you can make a league of one, with enough work you should be able to keep progressing normally. It might be more difficult, but I suppose that's the choice you make by not joining a league in the first place - it's already easier to work with a league to progress than doing it by yourself.

EDIT: And while the above ^^^^ bonuses are helpful, they don't exclude you from content. They do encourage you to be in a league, though, which I'm fine with since at least a minimum of social interaction is part of the nature of an MMO.

I see it as no different then people who dont PVP but want the android gear style/feat. If you want the full experience, then you'll have to join up with a league.

The way it is you have to have prestige to get one and they've said it takes alot to get one so its going to a problem for small leagues in less they change it .

Agreed. The larger leagues will be a bit off with this.

They are just bonuses. Even they are not required to complete content.

From my understanding these only work in PVE content. You will be able to complete that content without them. Its just a bonus for league members who take the time to earn them. You still get to run the raids and stuff. You just don't get the bonus because you won't group with others and work for them. Whats the problem here? Players who put in the effort and work as a group get a bonus for their work. Those who like to lone wolf it get to do the content but don't get a bonus to stats.

Leagues need some love. They are finally getting it. Just deal with it.

Yup, this is much needed for leagues. There was almost no reason to be in a league before and now there actually is.

Reading between the lines it sounds like they have a brilliant marketing strategy... Not only is prestige generated by junking items in the league halls, but also from donating decorations and maybe even from having your own lairs all decorated... (So more lairs+Full decorations=more prestige per weak if I read things right, with lair decorations donated to the league hall generating ten times as much as it would if added to your own lair...)

So small leagues may be able to compensate for a lack of players by having what few players they have buy up and fully decorate as many lairs as they can....

What if all of the people who are complaining about it not being solo-friendly created a league together

Not going to happen. They would have to socialize with others first. You can't do that in DCUO.

This is one of the reasons I like DCUO... leagues did not feel mandatory.

Its still not mandatory. you are only missing out on a small portion of the stuff. If you create a league just for you then the bonus is the only thing you may not get. They aren't that great and you probably won't even notice when others have them.

Now I have to admit, Im not too gung ho about having to be in anyone's league. Majority of leagues I have ran with are immature fools who have loud music blasting in the background, yelling at their siblings or dog and/or telling corny jokes mostly about women, moms and gays which is lame. I always knew this day would possibly come whereas I would either join a league or create one of my own. Technically, none of us are lone wolves as we still have to team up to complete Alerts and Raids for the most part. However, being in a league isn't everyone's style andincreasing one's strength due to being in a league is a bit bias. However, I would be a hypocrite if I put down League Halls without giving it the ole Harvard try and be in a league. Heck, I have received a bunch of league invites since joining in 2012, lol.

We shall see though as I want to keep an open mind about GU39 as I have with all the other game updates. I might have to change my leagueless title which will be sad for me but things change. I thought remaking my favorite female Villain anyhow to become a more destructible force. Hmmmmm...Tank or Damager (DPS). Decisions...Decisions.
