Weapon Mastery Nerf...why?

    This did it for me.:D, but no people like to give training wheels to players that don't know a donkey from a horse, at the same time players like you me before WM came about was a natural talent.:rolleyes:

    Problem is the ones who complain about WM are the ones who don't know what "until the hit counter resets" means
    and also the ones who rushed to 103cr with 40 SP. A lot of the people who claim to hit for over 10k per WM combo are the ones who use buff sodas, trinkets, precision buff and have every innate. Either wise I don't see WM doing "INSANE AMOUNTS OF DAMAGE" as people say by its self.

    You couldnt be any more wrong. Many of the poeple in this tread have there sp in there sig. I my self have 168sp and have been playing snice it went free to play. As for the second half have you even used wm you dont need any of that for it to be better than any power in your set. Show me a power that can even hit for 8 k let alone the 10k to 20k range on top of being able to do that for zero power. Please look at poeples sigs before you throw baseless statements like that. Thanks.

    I can't because powers were never design to hit hard. Their were their to complement you weapon by adding PIs, extra damage, stuns and damage modifiers. Your weapon was the center of your dps , not the other way around.

    Ppl are in extreme denial to think weapon mastery will not eventually get a damage reduction its kind of inevitable. To try to justify anything outside of that with claims how all powers a even now is frivolous. Wm is clearly way strong than any might move in which again sit precision way higher than might in regards to dps. When you have fire dps modding full precision you know something is wrong. Plus I could have swore it was said that wm was the alternative to clipping not that it would be extremely better than it. So I see some huge changes in the future that some who have had their dps career revived will not like. Cause lets face it for those who say clipping wasnt a skill what do you call tap hold hold power. I mean just to be a good hl dps before gu36 was way more complicated than a wm combo ijs.

    If that is the case why wasn't it intended for the one handed and duel wield to hit as hard as they did. Why didn't they just boost all the weapons up instead of nerfing them all. Why are there constant talks about the might and precision imbalance. Why even have might based powers. Im done you get what im trying to say.

    Im sorry but this is just false. How do you complement ur weapon by setting up a p.i? If powers were just ment for adding modifiers why add animations or even damage. For most of this games lifespan its normally been close to 50/50 weapon damage power damage. With the way you modd tipping it abit on way or the other. This whole most of ur damage comes from ur weapon didnt start till the devs started buffing weapons all willy nilly.

    it has nothing to do with the powers. ice and quantum did great when focused blast was OP, and when dual wield throw was OP. the only difference between then and now is now our powers are slower, and now we cant clip weapon combos.

    one of the things a lot of people liked about this game was the fast paced combat. it was much faster than a lot of other MMOs. thats not the case anymore.

    I can't say anything about those weapons since I use the bow. Why would they buff them lol? This is DCUO where NERF is the answer to everything. How about this! Instead of nerfing WM precision we buff might so its's as strong as precision and leave precision how it is? You get the best if both worlds! You don't always have to NERF everything. Jeez man.

    Well id rather bring precision damage back down if it means bringing bosses and adds health back down. Cant even run with a healer in the alert cause it would take 29 1/2 yrs. So higher precision and higher enemy health at the expense of healers that sounds about right.

    Simple answer, theres really nothing else to talk about. The top players have already done 5 min TD feats and now every pug can at least manage 20 min with or without a healer in every concievable configuration. Its always like that with the large changes be it synthetic mods or getting our own loot. Im sure these threads will all be less common when survival mode is out or we get previews for HOP and GU39.

    I got 184 sp and a Base precision of 2600. Explosive Shot from HB's hit's anywhere between 10-15k unbuffed for me, the haymaker wm a good 2-4k more. But hey You tell us champ.

    That statement is a bit flawed. It actually didn't make any power more useable for DPS since the powers themselves aren't doing the massive amounts of damage you see. If anything, WM masks your power set's flaws and fills in the damage that your power set lacks. So in essence your power set really didn't get better, your weapon did.

    I don't hate the concept of wm. I hate gu36. Wm was a solid idea, especially for support roles. But to make it so strong that you now have to base you rotations around wm is ridiculous. Add that with the catastrophe that is GU36, and the skill of DPS is cut in half. If you want to maximize DPS you mustuse wm.

    And to see the restrictions some powers get is a joke. Nature and electric come to mind. While other powers seemingly get none.

    We are no closer to balance that we were when DW were op.

    I don't mind wm, but to have to go through gu36 and all these changes for nothing is annoying. If people paid more attention you'd notice thongs have a way of repeating themselfs. Remember when everyone wanted the best gear to be bought instead of dropped? So people couldn't spend replays and he more geared then them . Well here you go you got your wish. Now they just made fe6 so hard to come by you end up replaying it just as many times. Might looked like something changed but from a business perspective it sure hasn't. There's always gonna be imbalance, fotm powers and weapons. They make money.

    Think about that next time you voice your opinion on a game changing issue.

    No offense, but did you join the game when 1H or DW was OP or something :confused:? I'm not sure how else you could've reached that conclusion. Prior to GU36 and DLC10 and since this game's existence weapons complimented your power set. The bulk of everyone's damage came from powers. Even the precision based powers had the bulk of their damage come from their power combos. The only major situations that give your statement weight were when 1H and DW were ridiculously over powered. During those days people that had inferior power sets would rely on those two OP weapons to compensate for the damage their power lacked, much like WM.

    When you're playing that way, sure, all you need are some high % modifiers and buffs. However, the majority of the community pretty much used heavy power rotations complimented by Solar Flame/Rifle Grenade attacks.

    I come from GU10 or something and jumped all the way to GU 32. I quit when the clip frenzy began and came back as a healer.
