Weapon Mastery Nerf...why?

    Well, I wouldn't say all skill because there are those that would argue that point until the end of time. Clipping was pretty much axed in Gu36 due to the people that either couldn't do it or simply chose not to. The other reason was because it burned huge amounts of power which caused an uproar from the controllers. I originally wondered why couldn't WM just release and Gu36 be axed but I'm sure they feared it would create an even larger gap because the clippers would simply add WM to their devastating rotations. The player base of this game is composed of more casual players than many would like to believe and though the competitive crowd does exist, they are surely the minority.

    So, clipping had to go, WM was introduced, and now almost everyone can do sufficient damage without having to use finger-cramping rotations, or at least that was the original idea. There are some DPS's that still suffer even with WM and the DPS that excelled before still do so by abusing WM's "OP-ness" which is REALLY mind boggling :confused:. I sometimes have to ask myself "Was any progress really made? o_O"

    Their was skill Spamming powers?

    WM has brought BALANCE to other harder to DPS power sets.

    We obviously have different interpretations of balance.

    Explain to me how WM has made every powerset balanced to one another? People throw that around, but I don't think they truly comprehend what actual balance is. So please how is WM a balancing tool? You seem very sure that is the case.

    I agree. I'm glad that people who never had a chance to do good damage can at least feel good about themselves and their characters now.

    Everyone deserves to have some fun and feel like they're actually contributing to bringing the boss down.

    Weapons Mastery has made bad dps worse and slowly but surely it's going to turn support roles into bad dps as well .

    Everyone based all the dps stuff they know around t5 raids. The main imbalance within the power sets were range. In the t1-t4 raids the powers weren't that imbalance because we could melee, but once they introduced t5 raids the imbalance begin. In t1-t4 content I never lost to a hl dps, because on my gad sorcery ice and earth toons I could do just as much prec damage with my staff/1h. Anyone who been dpsing longer than t5 know melee range brought powers inline not wm.

    If soe never introduced WM with the t6 release the powers would have still been balanced, because of the range of our attacks. This community cry to much, y'all want WM nerfed because in your eyes clipping take skill, anyone could argue that timing the WM combos take more. I'm just sick of everyone trying to put dcuo in there box and forget what has to be nerfed to fit in it

    I agree with this the bad dps are still bad and the good dps are pulling even farther ahead. WM has made a lot of support roles forget they are support and not dps

    Idk, i like my wm because i get to use different weapons that i usually didnt use because of how impractical it would be before. I used to use only rifle and continuously jc , but as a hl player i love my constructs and id actually want to see em. Wm gave me the chance to do that HOWEVER, i hate that i have to depend on it most of the time as id much rather use my combos.

    That said, i do believe the greatest success should be from utilizing wm and your "awesome mechanic" but each should be powerful in their own right. What i mean is that say a person who would prefer unleashing power after power should be able to keep up with players using only wm. However synergy between the two should yield the greatest results imo. Rather than a nerf, i feel as though the might crit should be worth building up to,'as it is currently, there isnt much incentive to use the crit for certain powers

    Because someone got their ego bruised when they got KOed by someone using WM in PvP. At least that's my guess...

    I really think it boils down to PvE vs. PvP...

    PvPers don't like getting KOed by abilities they can't easily access.(They want everything to come down to "skill" and not who has the higher stats or shoots firts. Understandable really.)
    PvEers like having a little more freedom to deal damage with whatever power set they feel like while having less concern over getting kicked just because they aren't playing the FOTM...

    In PvP nobody is going to kick you for being bad at your role.(Things are too hectic to worry about calling a vote and it's better to have a bad DPS/Tank/Healer/Troll on your team than an empty slot, at least depending on the mission...)

    in PvE players can afford to take some time out to call a vote, there is no failure unless you give up and time isn't an issue for the most part.(Just imagine the rage if you had to fight your way through a crowded hallway full of adds before the timer ran out and it ends the instance prematurely.)

    In short two different kinds of players wanting two different things.

    1handed was bad when it was doing 5-6k crits by itself. Is it really shocking that if I perform a WM Combo which hits 17-25k in aoe I might think there is something wrong? The damage the precision combos do is borderline stupid, doesn't matter if I hit the window and get a whooping 4k might cast, by the time i get there the enemies will be long dead. I treat WM as necessary evil- that's what it is to me,but is it really shocking that somebody might think that performing the dps role well should entailmore then hold tap hold, or hold hold or whatever ther combination? And WM didn't balance jack- everyone got a 1hit kill button, and the meta"competition" between powers got degraed as to who can hit it faster, and who can stack up more passive damage to tick in the background.

    I doubt half of these so called 'Awesome Mechanics' will actually work. As a Hardlight player our awesome mechanic is supposed to be our 'combos' but there is no way on earth we can do half the damage a WM dps does. GU38 is doing hardly anything for the powerset as all the feedback from WIP has been ignored.

    That's what I thought at first, until I started seeing a lot of the people were complaining about it in pve.i was really confused.

    I guess there needs to be power mastery along with a big might innate pools in the weapon trees.
    Its a shame to see people who want WM nerfed or gone.

    So once again it seems from the feedback that PvPers are calling for yet another nerf.

    At what point do we just remove PvP from this game altogether. I mean it's been broke almost as long as voice chat.

    Cuz over 80% of forums posters nowadays are that guy RockHound..who use to have 5k posts and u swore he was brand new.
    If it makes them look weak...ditch it.

    The whole PvP side argument of WM is redundant.
    Its like learning the moves of every weapon and learning counters back in the day.

    Probably on the same day people stop playing PvP.... Honestly though I would like to see improvements to PvP too. (Like maybe some more open world PvP events, PvP exclusive open world missions... Ect....
