We need a Legends Characters Interface

Of course, I know that the immediate reaction by the veteran players will be "NO! We've always had to guess or carve into our stone tablets notes on what each Legend character could do and which ones we unlocked on each of our characters so everything is fine." I'm still going to make the suggestion anyway.

It would seriously improve managing Legends game play if there was a UI Tab that a player could access to check which Legends characters were unlocked for that character AND read a detailed description of powers and attacks. While one can hazard guesses as to what each power does through trial and error, it is much harder to figure out the extent of a Legends character's melee and ranged attacks. Having this information available to a player when NOT in Legends mode would let a player become more familiar and efficient with each particular Legendary character.

Before someone posts it, having to rely on an outside wiki to read up on a Legendary Character is not an answer. An outside wiki is second hand information that may or may not be entirely correct but more importantly would you want to pause beginning your LPVE run so someone could minimize the game screen to check what the Legendary character can do?

    +1
We should have a legends menu or tab. We shouldn't have to queue just to see what we own. They are really part of our inventory like items and base items, etc. It's the same case for crafting... we have to be at a table to see what we own. Yet we can see our base items any time.

    1. Do you honestly expect every player to go through the two dozen or so Legendary characters through scrimmages to sort of learn what they can do?
    2. Other than keeping hard copy charts in notebooks or queuing up for Legends, a player has no easy way to check which Legends characters have been unlocked on a particular character.
    3. How would adding this to the UI negatively impact you game play?

Hmmm......I'm not sure what you press on PC, but on PS a simple press of Up on the D-pad will bring up your current effects and abilities menu, scroll down to the power names and descriptions, select, read.

I do it ALL the time when using a legend for the 1st time and it usually takes no more than a few seconds.

As far as adding a UI solely so we know what characters our other toons have unlocked.......seems a little asinine, but then again that isn't an issue for me as my main has all the legends unlocked.

PC players get no information on Legends characters, anywhere in the game. What I meant by the UI is a simple inventory tool so I can know which Legends I have unlocked on the character I am playing. To me, that is far more important than being able to check what Base items I have which PC players have in their UI now...

The explanations are all hidden in F1 on PC.

Not a good solution I agree.

In addition to that, I'd like to see a simulation room, which has a grid design in a basic box shaped room with hologram sparring targets in it, where a player can load into it as a Legends character and practice without the pressure of PVP and without disrupting other players gameplay in a Legends PVE instance.

With regards to the UI, I'd like to see all the Batman skins merged into just 1 Batman slot and when you select Batman, it brings up a list of all the alternate skins you've unlocked for him. I'm pretty sure this was the original plan with the new UI, but with that being suspended indefinitely, I don't think we'll see any changes like that for a long time, if ever.

If there is a new UI in the works, that is news to me. I hope they include a Legends Tab that includes the character's inventory (stable?) of Legendary Characters and descriptions of powers and melee and ranged attacks.

I did not even think to try that but if it only works when you are actually in Legends mode, it still slows things down for a player new to a particular Legends Character. I would like a way to study each Legend before I join an LPVE group so I don't slow them down.

That was exactly what I was trying to tell you, I just didn't known the button you had to hit on PC.

Little piece of advice, check your power descriptions during legends PvE cut-scenes, legends PvE has been nerfed so hard that if your team can't survive 2 mins while you check your power descriptions then you're doomed anyways.

I don't completely understand what you're saying, but the new UI improvement they mentioned will probably have nothing to do with what the OP is asking.

On that note, if they are updating the UI, then I don't see why you have a problem with people giving suggestions on what they could do to improve it, maybe you could give some suggestions of your own.

I also find it interesting that every one of your posts has some semblance of negativity towards others for presumably no reason.

The UI is on hold until after...
    • crossplay
    • PvE suicide squad/ Taskforce X
    • ...
I expect the new UI a year from now at the earliest....

I think adding a menu of some sort that shows your current combos and powers is a very good idea and would even be very helpful to new players outside of Legends as well!
Making the info about legends available outside of Legends might be more tricky I think, but showing the available combos/ powers in a new menu would just be moving existing functions. I'd love to see an aditional tab in the character screen that says "powers and attacks". They did it for the league revamp too.....

I have suggested, several times over the years, that we need a simple training room (with a sparring dummy). This room would be Q'd into after choosing ANY of the available Legend toons.

Simple as a dimple. It would literally take an afternoon, if not less, to create this. Why the game is 5 years in and has NO WAY to test play Legends toons is beyond my understanding. But, "simple and effective" is an unknown term around here. Everything implemented seems to have to be confusing and clumsy

It's really hard to tell who you're responding to if you don't hit "reply", I'll assume that last message was directed towards me, and I never said they would put a change somewhere other than the UI. I said they may not have this change planned at all, so if they're updating the UI I'd imagine any suggestions towards what to add would be appreciated.

Secondly, there a lot of things in this game that have been "beaten to death" with repeated threads and complaints, and I don't think UI updates are one of them.

This in general is an idea myself and a lot of other PvP players are pushing for, in game tutorials and better access to information about the game readily available in the game itself.

Coming from someone who's written most of the guides we have available on these characters, these things are often highly innacurate, or leave crucial information out and they often paint a very different picture for when and how you should be using them than how is actually ultimately a significantly better option.

For example, did you know that Shazam's supercharge grants you two shields? Did you know Deathstroke's finisher can be clipped with certain powers? Does anyone know what happens when you jump immediately after using Lex's tactical blast?

    Totally agree.
Given that we already have the LPvE instances though maybe a solo challenge? Then you could go in and hit stuff with a legends character without having to worry about being clueless and screwing up around other people. Plus it still fits in with their obscure way of adding content like this (i.e. mostly by re-purposing existing content to give the impression of more content).

That would be nice, but the way I suggest is sooo easily done. If they were to make it an instance, or anything more than what I suggest, it will fail. It's been proven a hundred times over that they simply can't add anything to this game without making it overly complicated. There's always some sort of "system" or requirements, or whatever, that kills every idea they come up with.

JUST DO THIS SIMPLE LITTLE THING AND PUT NO STRINGS ON IT (for once). PLEASE!

Stop being jerkwads, he posted his opinions if you think it's unnecessary then... 1. Laugh to yourself. 2. Reread the post to see if his opinions make sense. 3. If it doesn't then move on. Absolutely no reason for being sarcastic jerks in these formums its just counterproductive.
