Getting away from the domino mask debate for a bit...

They've announced the actor for Freddy Freeman in the SHAZAM! movie.

It's Jack Dylan Grazer, who played Eddie in the recent version of IT, and I can't really complain. He did a good job in IT, and I think he's a pretty good match for Freddy's look.

They already cast the kid actors? Oo

They do know that kids... well... grow older?

Eh, those are details, they never matter.

Not entirely or terribly surprising, but at the same time probably not entirely helpful for their future efforts.

Cleaning house time, doubt it goes high enough up the food chain though. This, of course, is a good move (though there is a slight feel of scapegoating) but I have my doubts WB will be able to find what's needed to fix the DCCU.

I watched her video and she's crazy if she thinks those two guys are responsible for the mess the DC movies have become they took the fall and sadly the mess will still go on.

She wasn't blaming them, the Variety article with the report on this stated that the two were heavily credited with JL, which would of course give WB reason to hold them responsible for it's failure.

Her not being disappointed about Geoff Johns has nothing to do with thinking him responsible. She and many other movie pundits have said that his inexperience in the movie industry made him a poor choice for the job.

Sadly to be expected, double sad because JL is a good movie which took to heart what was critizised most on BvS (Snyder and to dark). But releasing it shortly after a marvel team up movie and with the shitmill already working against it before it was even out... it felt like WB already dropped out before JL had its first big screen day.

And now everything should be changed again after it was already changed and the changed movies partly suffered because of the changed tones in the middle of half (or more than half) done movies. Its sad because they had to expect them be box-office difficult till they arrive at the movies which are made from the ground up with the old-new direction and now with the new push to the panic button are most likely ending up in a circle of old-new style mixes.

Urgh. And thats not because of the new guy, its because I seriusly hope Affleck will see this through.I love his DK performance.

In the recent Sao Paulo Comic Con, WB has exhibited their new slate of movies for the DCEU and it looks some movies that were announced or rumored are no longer in the pipeline. The current movies that were showcased and thus seem to be a go are as follows:
Wonder Woman ll
Aquaman
Flashpoint
Suicide Squad 2
The Batman
Shazam
Green Lantern Corps
Batgirl
Justice League Dark

No Man of Steel 2

Still on track with Justice League Dark but not ONE single cast movie? Not even a new Hellblazer/Constantine one? Lack of proper amount of single movies worked so well with Justice League.

I could imagine the JLD members having memorable helpful roles in previous movies (kind of like WW in BvS) though...

Meh... they should just make MoS2 already. Cavill being allowed to finally play hopeful Superman in JL was a great teaser.

That list is a sadly tragic sign that WB hasn't learned anything and are still moving on like the ship hasn't already sunk. The timing alone on releasing this list shows they have no clue.

Aquaman is guarantied, it's already done and in post production, they have no choice but to release it.
Wonder Woman 2 is also a for sure that's their only real success.

Continuing with the DC/WB shakeup of the DCEU, it seems Iris West will be recast for the upcoming FLASHPOINT movie that will be in production soon. Even though, actress, Kiersey Clemons who was originally cast as Iris for the planned Flash solo movie and actually shot a scene for JUSTICE LEAGUE was ultimately cut from the film and left as a deleted scene.

In addition, some more casting news for the Shazam movie. (Fresh Off The Boat) actor Ian Chen will play Eugene Choi, Jack Dylan Grazer (IT) will play Freddy Freeman, while Jovan Armand (Bella and the Bulldogs) will play Pedro Peña

And now the question is how DC will respond to this news and all the new toys Marvel will get to play with.

So, no Cyborg movie...no Man of Steel 2...no Ben Affleck and no Justice League 2?

What is going on with the folks in charge of DC movies?

They could've done wonders with Cyborg...to showcase him they perhaps could've taken a spin off of this clip from BvS



.....and perhaps given us a FUTURE Cyborg right around the same time period as this Future Flash that was trying to contact Bruce Wayne...maybe show him fighting heroically to OPEN this portal for Flash to contact Batman....SOMETHING.........



He is such a versatile character and at times he's been formidable in the Justice League Comics.

And he's Black...

Once again Marvel hits a home run and DC is barely getting doubles.



They should leave Ben Affleck alone and KEEP him. Perhaps clean house from the TOP....who is making the decisions up at DCCU?

And do they read the COMICS?

Yeah, right, like any of the pompous buffoons at WB have ever opened a comic book in their lives. Why else would they keep screwing the movies up?

Affleck has been out for a long time now, they just weren't going to talk about it before JL was released. There has been a lot of issues between Ben and WB and there's no fixing that relationship now, so he's only set to do one more run as the Bat in Flashpoint, which may not even happen.

As for who's in charge, that's in flux at the moment (there's a video posted about this on this page). The DCCU was headed by Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, Berg is completely out and at Vertigo now, Geoff has been demoted on the movie side to just being a consultant (he is still head of DC Comics). I haven't heard if WB has named a replacement, that is if they are even going to.

Reading comics isn't a requirement (it can be helpful but not needed), all they need is a concise direction. It would help if they had a Fiege type head and if upper management would stop interfering.

I'd LOVE to offer DCCU a few suggestions -

PROMOTE Geoff Johns and give him FULL reign.

Allow him to bring in some iconics, like Bruce Timm, Dan Riba....some of the Young Justice writers..

Reach out to some prominent Black writers, like Reginald Hudlin. He took over for much of MILESTONE Comics when Mr. Dwayne McDuffie (RIP) passed away.



Heck, bring in the TALENTED lady who wrote and directed the WONDER WOMAN movie.

Develop an ACTUAL PLOT LINE between the movies....it isn't hard....

Those in the DCCU hierarchy that keep meddling in the movies will find out the hard way if our movies keep bombing like this.

10-20 years from now Comic afficianados will be comparing DC and Marvel movies and will consider the DC ones to be a laughing stock.

And that saddens me.

Worse, they’ll be viewed the way we view Adam West’s Batman...but completely *not* entertaining (as hokey as the old Adam West show was, it was - and still is - *very* fun to watch)
