I read your post a few days ago. I like that style of healing FF14 has the scholar which is shield focused but can do damage and heal very well. I want that for Water
I just hope the creatures are Atlantean magic constructs and not real sharks, whales, etc. Whales magically swimming around in nothing on Ranx? I think not!
I'm not anti-pet, I'm not fond of the mindless, no control kind of pets they have in this game. Hunters in WoW are super fun. The pets in DCUO are completely out of the player's control and that is no fun at all. PS: People don't use Robot Sidekick to "draw aggro." We use it because it's passive damage and there's nothing better to use on a couple of powers.
I feel like a Pet AM made from scratch instead of adapted from existing powers, like Earth and Sorcery, could potentially be more like traditional MMO pet classes. Admittedly, I would still be hesitant about it after seeing how pets are right no, but with Atomic looking so unique, I have a little hope they might actually do it. I would love it if they actually did make it more like that as during my time playing WoW my main toons were an Unholy DK and a Beast Mastery Hunter.
I play pets often. Earth and Sorcery. I dont hate them. I pushed for them to be useful lol Just, that we have Nature, Gadgets, Earth, and Sorcery. I like pets, just not sure if they could implement them to be a bit better in the intelligence area.
To have the functionality to make them useful (to me, anyway,) they would need to have their own ability bar. That would necessitate a modification of the UI and a way for controller-users to access it. It's far from impossible but is the juice worth the squeeze for DCUO? /UH DK fistbump I do miss little Timmy the ghoul sometimes...
Heh, I was imagining that at the end of this move with a successful cancel, it creates a crawfish pet that lunges forward, facehugging your enemy and exploding, causing all the damage you staved off from the attack. Or if you perform it with a successful cancel, say, five times, you can use a supercharge to launch your stacked crawfish suicide bombers at the enemy, or making them explode into burst heals... This idea now reminds me of Cookie Clicker.
I'm expecting hard water inspired by Aqualad to be a tank role WhIle Hydrokinesis might be either Healer or Control maybe leaning towards healer Aquaman: Mental Mera: Hydrokinesis Garth: Magic Tula: Tech Lagoon Boy: (Tank) Maybe Earth Kaldur: Hard Water Lorena: Tech Aquadog: Atomic Aquababy: Celestial LOL that would be how is load them out.
Honestly? I don't care how the power plays out as long as it's fun and close to balanced. Sea life Pets would be awesome if only for the metric ton of Aquaman inspired toons we'd see running around, but from the description of the power (Mera and Aqualad) I don't think we'll be seeing any. Plus, right now we have 1 pet-based power for each role (unless Im forgetting one?) and that seems nicely balanced (though I'm always game for more pets, and have been since Skyrim's followers made me a believer). Really, I'm just hoping that the "Aqualad" they're talking about using as a templet for Inspires is Kaldur from Young Justice. That was one badass character and I'd like to see him get some love somewhere. Real question is; do I take my Rage using, Manta-armor wearing Kaldur-inspired toon and change his powerset? Or run with a brand new alt?
Meh I'd rather get the Johns adaption of the character we haven't seen that yet in media so I think this would be a great way to finally have that version debut especially since it sounds like that's the version they'll have appear in comics. Regardless either-or Id be excited to play as Kaldur regardless of how he appesrs. The Manta armor suit would be a cool Legends switch if it included the built in mini rockets the YJ version had. I'd like to get these 3 versions personally of Kaldur.
