hello all, i have just switched my healer alt to water, and would like some tips for a LO. The artifacts i am using are eyes of gemini, soul cloak and page of destiny
Nice artifact setup, a decent load out that will work really well with those artifacts is Mending Wave, Soothing Mist, Solace of the Seas, Riptide, Bubble, Flood of Power. If you can work a Orb of Orion that would work really well with this load out as well. It will be up to you which one to swap it with. Either Scrap or Gemini. My current artifact setup for that load out is Orb, Page, Gem. Now I still have the scrap, its just being utilized in my High Tide load out/armory build. Both builds are fun and viable. If you would like to know anything else/more specific details just let me know. Good Luck.
Flood of Power is like a super riptide with arbiter of destiny thrown in. It resets all of your abilities to be off cool down, plus resets you to full power, plus gives you a few seconds of instant power Regen on your abilities. So basically you clip all your abilities together and empty your power bar, then hit your supercharge and you're back to full power with no abilities on cool down. So you can get 3x solace of the sea stacked, plus you get to spam your other heals.
For artifacts, everyone has their preference. I use scrap, eog, and demon fang. The rotation is same at LT wrote. I keep both SC artifacts in because I personally like dropping the SC every time I get it full (which saves over 50% left for emergency). I use weapon mastery between heals, and power is never an issue. During hard raids, having 4 pools out at once is healing to the extreme.
It's the personal shield super charge (5k) that returns a lot of power back to you for a few seconds and resets/reduces your powers that were on cool down. It's a really strong super charge and comes very handy with that specific load lout. When it's an emergency, if done right you can have 4 solace of the seas out (once you used solace, riptide, solace as normal and then flood of power, solace, riptide, solace). Waters' group supercharge shield is a 10k heal/shield but the shield portion can only be activated while in high tide. I have that in my high tide setup which works well with the scrap/gem combo. If you want to try a high tide load, I'll post mine but it is recommended to use with higher stats/more skill points and 160+artifacts (preferably 200 is the goal that I am currently working toward, but it's only an alt so I'm getting there within time). Both setups can work as hybrid focused with weapon usage but if you can't hit as much or don't want too and your artifacts aren't as high yet to make up the power difference then super powered actually works really well for the mean time. High tide Load = Soothing Mist, Tsunami Strikes, Blessing of the Depths, High Tide, Tempest Guard, Tranquil Pool. Artifact setup = orb, scrap, gem.. (Since you have the page at the moment, you can swap soothing mist for Mending wave as tsunami strikes is just as strong though soothing mist will be a lot stronger with the orb, which is better for getting that big burst heal on the tank when needed). (Side Note: Some think tempest guard isn't that strong but with the high tide mechanic it actually doubles its strength and gives a nice burst heal at the end. Yes, it's not a 100% shield, only 85% and last for 6 seconds but if timed right it can absorb quite a bit of damage in a small period of time which is good for those big burst boss hits. It's like using 2 solaces or 2 tempest guards but instead of the same cap spread across 12 seconds its for 6 seconds. It serves as a preventing damage in measure versus healing damage already taken in. It can work well with a riptide setup as well, as long as its used properly. Same effect just softer cap as you can riptide it and use it again after 6 seconds to have the same cap just spread across for 12 seconds instead of 6. And It's a 8 player shield, which isn't a supercharge. It's one of waters' unique abilities). My orb is currently 160, so I get the big priority burst plus the pet that continues priority healing 100% of base while he is out. Tsunami strikes is like another priority that heals the lowest player(s) each time/combo and reduces the cool down of your high tide power. A high tide load out is more involved/active you have to be more reactive/prective on your abilities/rotation when activating the high tide bonus effects from each ability, depending on how you want to strategies your next healing move will dictate which power you hit after high tide. What is more helpful/useful is knowing what to use before something ("mechanic/hit/damage") has happened or right after something (") has happened. So knowing boss fights/mechanics helps play a role in your decision making as well. (Shield + Burst, Burst + Hot, etc). Think of Riptide as the more traditional/simple healer (hot/proactive) setup like Sorcery and Nature, while High Tide is more of a burst/reactive set up like Electric and Celestial. So if you ever played any of those powers you will most likely lean toward a similar load/rotation as the power you felt more comfortable playing. Most prefer the more traditional heal setup, that is why I mentioned the riptide load in my first post. Well this was a bit more than I wanted to type but it is good to know if you or anyone else was curious that is. Now there are other ways to play water. Those 2 are just the main ones that I have currently lead to over my time playing as water. So feel free to try it or something else that you may enjoy/prefer. Water is actually a fun and universal power as you can play it almost exactly like the other healing powers in the game, which is quite interesting. If you have any questions please feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them. Take care and have fun.
I run a different setup than most. I don't use double (or quadruple) puddles or Eye of Gemini with Water. I use: Mending Wave Tsunami Strikes Solace of the Seas Bubble Soothing Mist Tempest Guard Orb of Arion, Page of Destiny, Omegahedron I basically just do Solace of the Seas, then the Tsunami Strikes combo to keep the tank/group topped up with its constant mini-heals, and after each combo finishes, splash Mending Wave to add the Revivify stacks, and go back to Tsunami Strikes... splash Mending Wave... Tsunami Strikes... Mending Wave... Solace of the Seas... back to Tsunami Strikes... Zzzzzz.... Use shields as necessary, and pop Soothing Mist if the Tank takes a big hit. I'm also able to use Soothing Mist at the start, and use it again every time the Spectral Acolyte goes away (every 10 or so seconds), because of how much power and power regeneration I have myself set up with (even more with a proficient Controller). Water is the Munitions of healing. The ratio of ease of use to effectiveness is so good, it makes it boring.
