Atomic with involwing the Atom & Firestorm. Look at there:
    http://dc.wikia.com/
As you can see, the Atom (Ray Palmer) is only most known person who is outta DCUO (also Darkseid, but he will in HoP trilogy). Also here's Indigo version of the Atom, but if they will put him in one of WoL's they should introduce him first with his normal powers.
Probably with Alerts/Raids connected to shrinking, nuclear power plants & storage weapons. Shrinking could contain mission infiltrating on Brainiac ship (bottled cities are miniaturized).
Or even as everyone know - New Gods are vulnerable to radioactive substance called Radion. So if in HoP Darkseid come on Earth because he found its source on Earth, then must logically appear Atomic powerset, perhaps even in FIRST part! Due his merciless nature he could try to blow up some nuclear plants/missiles & when people will reduce results, calmly gain Radion. Because oppositely he could be scared go to Earth because of New Gods, but if he could to mine Radion here & with its help conquer New Gods... He can decided to risk. The Atom, Firestorm & DaGrateKrushmor included.

P.S.: Atlanteans cool at all, although Magic-based & many people imo will buy DLC with him just because of Water powers. Like DLC with Atomic powers.

Most known? For what age group? You have to remember that cartoons and movies are the basis for comic book knowledge for most.

Justice League Unlimited is probably the basis for many gamers' knowledge of DC before DCUO with a few new ones since then.

My own knowledge of Superman and Batman came mostly from the Animated Series shows.

The most well known characters are the mentors and lanterns. That's why they're in the game.

Supply and demand. If people wanted Water and Atom enough they would get it, simple.

Lanterns simply have a greater demand at the moment.

Maybe you will see Atomic or Water in the future, but the lanterns are already here.

And it's new release will just feed the popularity for more.

Read what I said again - I didn't say that it would be villain only, I said that it would work for villains too which would mean cross faction. Blue would not work for villains at all, in my opinion.

I wasn't being an a-hole about anything. To me it does seem like the obvious conclusion, I can't help it that I think things through rather than taking them at face value. It doesn't matter that you never play on the villain side, I'm sure you and everyone else knows that each side has to get an equal amount of new content when new DLCs come.

They are making the blue suit yes, but they also said that when we get the blue suit there will be other coloured suits too. This doesn't mean we're getting powers for those, it just means that they want to represent all 7 main corps with suits.

has OP thought that the hero/villain choice for RAGE (Red Lanterns) is based of off the different red lantern corps more famous/infamous member in the lore (Talking Atrocitus and Guy Gardner. Have not read up on the red lanterns sorry)

i dont even pretend to have much dc knoledge lol but i think they should have had two like they did with the fight for the light they had yellow and green but they should have added purple and red lantern lol but yea i like dark colors and shiny things lol what i always thought is the light color should have been customizable or choose your light when making a player and should have had all lights from all dc universes but i dont even know anything about war of the light just thinkin woulda been cooler to custom light or choose what type of light with each own individual set or something

Green and Yellow work almost the exact same in the comics. All the rest of the Lanterns work completely differently and don't all rely on constructs like Green and Yellow do. Cannot choose our own colour because of licencing from DC Comics, they want the game to feel authentic to the comics.
  10. wulff420 New Player

ahh i see yea. or at least if they would have had you to choose between the offical light colors anyways. still would be awesome to see purple lights come in tho, dark and shiny together yay lol

I gotta say Green Lantern might be right next to Catwoman & Daredevil on the all time horrible super hero movies.

The fact remains like it's been stated that the DCUO creators have very little to do with what powers can be used when creating a DC power. DC as a company holds all the rights as to what can and can not be done with content involving DC powers or storylines. So if anything don't point the finger and shake your fist at the DCUO staff, direct that towards the staff at DC. Now the last part of your post has got to be the most asinine thing I've read thus far. You know there's a little thing called freedom of choice, it's amazing too because it allows you to choose to be a red lantern or not.....best of all freedom of choice is...you guest it free. So don't make seem like someone is forcing you to choose a new power set just because they don't put out what YOU want them too.

Now with that being said here's something to think about......As I've been told by many comic book people that the blue lantern are the ones that keep the rings charged and have control over the rings.....sooooooooooooo with that being said it's very possible that the Blue Lanterns will be a powerset but it will be in the role of controller. Since it technically would be the next power in the rotation, but that's a logical hypothetical guess. Just food for thought

I would agree with you if Catwoman wasn't so godawful
And don't forget about Elektra and Superman 3 & 4

I am still confused as to the OP's claim about red lanterns.

I have been recently reading up on Red lanterns, and what I can find, they sound like anti-heroes, you know, bad guys doing good deeds through bad actions.
  17. Jafin 10000 Post Club

 I wouldn't say that. DC has to approve a power before it goes in to make sure it remains faithful to the source material when it comes to specific powers like Light but that's not the same thing as saying that the dev team have very little to do with what powers can be used in game.

I appreciate that DC may be protective when it comes to powers that are more associated with them rather than other comic companies like Light, but generic powers like fire and ice that are used by tons of characters throughout many different companies...I doubt DC themselves ever had to put much input into saying that those powers had to be a specific way to stay true to the source material.

I see what you mean and I just worded it wrong, to many things going on at once so the thought process was very thin.....lol
  19. Nightwings Disciple Level 30

if you read the comics, they think they are handing out justice, so not that far of a stretch. But then again, Lex thinks he is on the side of right too lol.

I will be honest - I started reading the Red Lanterns solo series for the first time two days ago. I've read from issue #0 to issue #15 so far and I have to say my perception of them has completely changed.

All my debate so far on why they are fine for villain and hero use has been from knowledge I got from wiki sites, but now I can say I have true first hand knowledge that there is very good reason for Rage to be used in both factions. The Red Lanterns series actively has Atrocitus and his Red Lanterns travelling through space to avenge people for the wrong that has been done to them. The rage that emanates from people is a force that Atrocitus can sense and is compelled to seek out so that he and his army may exact revenge on people who deserve it.

To me that means they are just very brutal, murdering heroes. Their intentions are completely good, they just go about doing what they do in a manner that is not usually seen as befitting a hero. If anything if we were forced to choose whether the Red Lanterns were heroes or villains I would put them as heroes before I would ever put them as villains.

This was perhaps not the right thread to put this in considering there are many others that debate the inclusion of Rage as a dual-faction powerset, but I think with the comics being so fresh in my head it definitely gives me a good perspective on why I think Rage is a good choice now more than ever.
