War of Light-no offense-just red lantern=weak

When I heard only the Red lantern power was coming out...I thought you dropped the ball. Having Red lanterns as heroes is straining context sooo bad. Even your statement about Guy Gardner fails to say how he could still think (like you said) but he tried to kill everyone until Kyle calmed him down...

The "rage" mechanics is cool but then Blue Lanterns could have a "peace" mechanics where they do the same as rage protect the group and have beast protection.

Maybe you did only one power because the villains side is so dead...but you could have easily tweaked the visuals to have Blue lanterns power be the converse of red but still have same mechanic interactions.

No offense but I am disappointed my hero will have to a be a red lantern instead of a blue....

FYI: The people at DC in charge of protecting its IP would not have allowed DCUO to portray its characters in such a way if they found it contrary to the character. Meaning they must feel that Red Lanterns are good guys as well. If you had seen the live stream the Devs demonstrated just how stern DC is with its IP in regards to this game. No way in hell, would DC allow DCUO to make the Red Lanterns good, if they thought it wasn't true to the IP.

You don't have to use the rage power set. And when they reference Guy being a red lantern they mean currently while all red lanterns have their sanity and are not being influenced by Atrocitus. For the past 25 issues they have been made into avengers of those who were wrong. They are even the guardians of Sector 2814.

well.....i think their hearts were in the right place trying to please everyone without one party being left out, though people think they could have gone about it a diffrent way whats done is done. and its not like we might not see blue lantern powers in the future, if we do awsome. i for one am glad they didnt release blue & red together because after what i saw when they released yellow and green together lord have mercy they are identically terrible outside dps.

Speak for yourself OP. Personally I think blue lantern tanks would have been stupid. But now with this choice, I am definitely dropping money to switch

That both Guy Gardner and Supergirl are Red Lanterns. Superman is upset because Kara isn't being a Girl Scout. Same reason Bats is upset with Red Hood. Yet in the New 52 both Jason and Red Lanterns are Anti-Heroes and not villains.

Anti-hero =/= Justice League material, which is what the inclusion of Red Lanterns in the hero faction suggests.

Honestly, I have no problem with some claiming that anti-heroes can do good. But they also do evil and disregard rules and laws. Superman (and Batman) are right to be upset that people close to them are turning to villainous activities.

If you listened to the livestream you would have heard Jens talk about a few things that pretty much just prove you're wrong. He talks about how DC is very protective of the brand and would not allow anything in the game that they feel doesn't mesh with their universe. Which is why we don't have green aura's, why they had to redesign a collar, and why we HAD to have GREEN/YELLOW for the hardlight powers. DC is currently making Reds more heroish (first step is anti-heroism) and they feel that in an MMO you are a "special snowflake" and would be the red lantern that retains their mind and chooses to use the power how you see fit. Not even just anti-hero like but heroic like. So I'm pretty sure DC knows more about the current direction of their universe than you do.

Starfire and Red Arrow also kill but no one labels them villains. Batman can torture enemies any way he sees fit but isn't ;abel as a villain because he doesn't kill? Last time I checked torture is frowned upon by society at large. John Stewart has killed plenty of people. Let also not forget that Majority of the people Red lanterns have killed were Green lanterns and Sinestro corps members. All of which have taken place during a war. Red lanterns aren't out robbing , ******, murdering, selling drugs, or trying to rule the universe. Them killing those specific kinds of people automatically makes them the same people they hunt? I find a huuuuuuuuge flaw with that logic. They may not be the ideal but to call them evil and villainous is just wrong.

Lets look at Star Sapphires: They were introduced as straight up villains no gray area what so ever. Now they are neutral but they don't do anything about their corpmates because everything they do is out of love. So yea you have Carol and Fatality both of which made face turns and then you have others who do evil out of love. Has Carol stopped the most current one from abusing love by being in command of ruthless criminals(who happened to be her people that she loved)....noooope. Hal had to step in and stop that one.

I'm pretty sure they know how to make money, as well. Which is what this all looks like to me. But, oh well. Nothing I can do about it -- and you're right, they know ever so much more than me.

I almost never use sarcasm. My post was entirely sincere. I don't appreciate, however, your tone -- not sure if you meant to, but I find it is a little haughty (Care to elaborate on how I'm ignorant to business principles? I merely stated that I view the whole dual faction Red Lantern thing as a cash grab rather than anything actually supported by DC lore.) I am allowed to have a negative opinion on the direction of the Red Lantern Corps in both DCUO and DC comics. I fail to see how that is immature.
