I support a relatively short time for the dovetail animation (0.3 seconds)... IF we are frozen in the same place.

IF we could be mobile while the animation is playing, then I would be OK with a time even as long as 1.3 seconds.

I support the fact that JC shouldn't freeze you in place. Like Spytle said that the initial purpose of JC was to be able to get you to block & roll. The problem stated was that you can JC into an attack. And that was the unintended part. What if you don't do anything to JC, but only let it be clippable or chained with block or beneficial powers? This might help with getting rid of people doing JC to get of another attack round. It would force people to use JC for its intended purpose only.

I apologize to people who use this to chain offensive attacks (I did use this mechanic when I was a gadgets dps/controller), but if it is an unintended mechanic, then it needs to be fixed. And if Legends PVP is their basis for intended mechanics, then PVP players should accept it, right?

This is balance? It was really necessary to glue us in place for the entire duration of a simple hold triangle attack?? This is going entirely too far I don't understand this game's direction anymore.

hahahaha...omg...please tell me that is a bug. That is the most ridiculous thing ever.

This is already a known bug that had to do with charge ups becoming holds. The impact to jump canceling on test does not represent the proposed jc'ing change. None of that work is live. Repeat, this is a bug with the charge up change. We'll address it soon and update PC test.

It is, and as a result does not belong in this thread. Please stay on topic. This is unrelated and unintentional.

That is the plan, and already in place in our internal system.

Good it was a glitch. I would have bet everything I had in-game that a glitch like would wipe out competitive pvp leagues and take a chunk out of pve leagues as well.

At least is a bug, good to know!

does this apply to powers that use one hand to cast or just this clip in particular?

By one hand i mean like a summon or a cast power that goes to the target itself. Am i going to be able to move like when i summon Robot Sidekick?

If you make it too long, it will no longer be viable as a defensive technique either. You have to process an attack indicator, decide to cancel and perform another action (e.g., block +/- roll), then execute that action in time. Using Nexus as an example, you have about a 1 second window to get out of a one-shot AoE field. If a dovetail is too long, you won't be able to get out in time. I've not really used JC offensively, but I use it often defensively.

Is it even possible to just code JC such that you can only clip/chain it with a beneficial power/block +/- roll? Since the point that I think Spytle was making was that they never intended JC to chain attacks. I replied to one of Spytle's responses so that he gets alerted with the option, and get his response if that's an alternative the devs are willing to take: don't add animation time, but only let JC be clippable by beneficial powers or block.

Remember, the adjustment will not be to the JC, itself. It's just you jumping, but at a certain moment that cancels an animation. The adjustment is actually to the thing being canceled. I don't think you can put restrictions on jumping. What you describe sort of sounds like what Giggles suggested about locking out offensive attacks for a certain period after canceling. I think that could be problematic. Without animation, you still have the messaging problem, though. I really think the dovetail sounds like the best option. Just needs to be timed right.

No. It applies to jump canceling.

Btw, Spytle, can I throw an idea pls. So people complain, that the team going to nerf weapon attacks, and because it's more vital for might-based powers, they consider that prec getting ever more buff. So I suggest move Super Power Combos (white, prec-based damage) from Weapon Finisher category to Offensive Superpower category. Making unable to clip Super Power Combos with Offensive Superpowers. To people have to make some weapon attacks with these powersets (Light, Celestial, Rage) as well, not just clip combo powers with themselves. Or just make it more hard to clipping with themselves, causing blue bar (cast bar) to appear when combo used.

After reading many good posts can we really just adjust the dovetail inorder to create balance. Anywhere between .5-.8 would be fine

QUESTION: Before I provide any more feedback, I think it's important we clarify where You plan to go with those changes- what are Your intentions. Do You Plan on keeping this mechanic relevant in the way it is used now- high end raid dpsing and legends, by relevant I mean not slowing it down to a crawl, not keeping all the drawbacks the way they are now, or is it staying purely for the escape in a pinch type of situation? Depending on Your answer I'll have different suggestions so try to be as specific and non-sugarcoaty(lol) as You can, thanks.
