Valentine day is meh

I just don't find it awesome. I find it meh. The things it offer's isn't really worth grinding for hearts. Hope everybody else love's valentine's day.

I've not done it but 3 or 4 times due to the base items are screwed up, figured since they cant fix them why the hell play it clamped only to get screwed up rewards?

not fair to anyone who does play it IMO

Seems like it's just a mess.
- race starting point fiasco
- screwed up base items feat
- crystals respawn rate in open world
- not a fan of stat clamping.

The outdoor event is stupid.
The race is badly placed.
The event is boring. ( Although it feels weird having Carol by your side )
The base items are nice but its not worth it too me.

Idc about stat clamping but i wish it wasn't in this seasonal given how poorly the outside event is and how awful that race spot is.

eh stat clamping isnt that bad really its more about the feat side of these instances IMO that has ruined the seasonals for me

if their screwed up like they are atm I wont play them twice what I should have to just to complete a damn feat just not worth it for 10 feats.

its like killing 5000 reapers for only 10 feats NOBODY would do that / would wanna do that

Outdoor - erratic spawn, but actual combat when you get a working one is faster than other seasonals. Basically, I do a couple of passes. If I don't find 5, I just skip it for the day and move on to my next alt.

Event - this is about right, generators are obvious enough that people are going for them... just too many button mashers keep hitting Freeze when his shield is up though!

Race - OK other than the rally point issue. I wish it was the lazier format of St. Patty's where you just run the race once for the feat and then only have to step into the circle each day after for the mark.

Base Items - This is the reason why I spam seasonals whether I like the content or not. The items match 2 of my bases and there's also collecting for league halls.

To be fair to the developers:

They didn't have to create a Valentines Day event. They did it because we asked for it. They got the actor who plays Sinestro to do some Mr Freeze lines exclusive for the event when he was in recording DLC12 content and same for the actress who portrays Carol Ferris.

The event is basic but that's exactly what you want for a seasonal. If I had to do a long, 20 minute mission, a 5 minute race and a 15 minute instance daily for 5 marks, I'd not bother. The entire thing takes less than 10 minutes, if that. Perfect.

The event is relevant. Valentines Day is about Love so who better than to use the Star Sapphires? Their enemy is intriguing too and very relevant. Mr Freeze, a guy motivated by the love of his wife stealing a powerful, relatively unknown element used by a group of people who's power comes from the emotion of Love for one last attempt to bring the love of his life back? Very original and very relevant.

The base items can be forgiven. There's nothing wrong with them, for a start. I'm very happy to see them give us such a wide range of new, themed items to collect. Not bad for an event which was relatively short notice and won't bring in much revenue compared to the expense it no doubt cost to put together.

They have a nice foundation to build on and I look forward to seeing where they go next year. Just as I did last year with the launch of the Christmas items.

I haven't gotten any base items I've done it twice what's up with the base item feat?

Since when are feats not worth grinding for?

I personally prefer it to the Xmas seasonal. The event was fun but bad pug groups could drag it out too long. I found Larfleeze for feats but had no real love of the Base items or gear on offer.

I will admit the race is appallingly placed, however I like the look of the base items, most of the gear looks nice and even the worst of Pug groups can't drag out the event more then 10 minutes. The open world event isn't too bad time wise either. The gear could be cheaper but that aside I like this event a lot

love base items..but with new dlc at pretty much same time I probably won't run it much.

Personally, I say the Old Valentines Event was more interesting than this new one. Yeah, it was kinda corny, but at least it had some challenge. Other MMOs that I played would have an open world event for holidays mission where everyone would gather. I don't see why they can't do something like that.

Yes, I know they didn't have to do anything. But, if you're going to give us something we ask for, at least put some real effort into it. This is just an old Mr Freeze missions that is basically reskinned. If they are going to do that, why not just reskin Ring Wars to a Valentine's theme? At least it would bring some excitement and some Real Heroes Vs Villains out in the open world.

Really? You can group up and get those reaper feats very quickly. I don't know many people who don't have that feat.

Dear diary, I have an opinion on the Valentines event.

Sometimes I like the way you think sir.

Cool looking base items, one of the free-est seasonal feats I've seen, and an open world mission that isn't a hassle for a change.

All of that chalks up to a pretty darn good event in my mind.

However, I will agree that the queued instance is pretty unexciting. At least all of the other seasonal instances have some sort of mechanic to them.

Maybe I'm crazy but I prefer the original one, it seemed like more time went into it. (I could be wrong)

I'm just in it for the feats, although I do agree, it doesn't give me that omg feel that I have for the Halloween nor Winter event, but it's good.
