Update 2: Marks of Power

    Why they dont simply put 1 solo, 1 duo, 1 alert and 1 raid in EVERY dlc then add more of either solos and duos for small content or raids and alerts for large content idk. Seems to make tons of sense imo. And then there is something for everyone in EVERY dlc. And then have 4 dlcs per tier and every 2 share marks like u said in your 1rst post in the other thread (great idea btw).

    That would leave us with 3-4 raids, 3 solos, 3-4 duos and 3-4 alerts every 2 dlcs and if they share marks its enough content for all types of players and we dont have tons of content to gear up but we also dont have just a tiny amount and have to grind for 2-3 months for our gear. Seems like the easiest and most logical solution imo.

    Tbh the iconic solos gave MoF for the 92 gear when it was released and after i had the feats done in those 2 solos i never ran them again. They are too long and boring for 1 mark. And the drops are garbage and the cr requirement on them had been lowered for the t5 and t6 ones. Imo worst content in the game and i still wont run them even if they give MoP.

    I see it. For some reason alot of others done tho. Like more than a few have said , "why fix something that isnt broken?". All this came about because of people who replay content too fast. Why the game should be tailored to them idk.

    OK, ppl getting half of what they want, and are still complaining (which prospones the dlc)
    With SoT n Wotl pt1 devs made a huge mistake letting vendor gear cost same as in OC, making to much content and to easy to get top gear (12 or 15 marks by alerts 6 minimum on duos, 30 by raids, + iconics n open world, easily a piece a day for a guy with to much time on their hands) also they made vestement gear drop to often in AB.

    So proposistion from some is to increase cost of HoP1 gear n keep MoF.
    Well t2 is about 10times as expensive as t1 (if i remember correctly) so with drop increase in HoP1 u still wouldnt have much use of AF1, one solo giving at most 1/100 of face-gear.
    Then u can argue that HoP1 is still t6 so shouldnt cost 10 times as much. Well FFTL dlc gave u t2.5 gear n mark of momentum, not sure if i remember correctly but think conversion rate was 50 or 25 MoT with distinction 10 MoT meaning that gear cost increase was in fact 2.5 or 5 times, meaning that with still using MoF, HoP1 gear should be at least 250% more expensive, so a chest would cost 150 marks to buy, so u could run 50 duos pluss from AF1 to get that, good thing then would be duos quantity feets would poor in on player base.
    Even with a 50% increase in cost (which would be to little) the AF1 solos n duos would need a lot more runs to gear up.

    So devs found out that they are making a new mark, which in retrospect makes sense, cos if keeping mof n same gear cost ppl would finnish to soon, community would rage then
    Introducing a new mark, making ofs useless in dlc 11, until tier 7 . community would rage now. (as proven)
    Making a cost increase who would render ur previous mof worth way less (vendor 11 would have to increase cost as well), n still make AF1 content practically useless. Community would also rage.

    They couldnt avoid the rage so chose to get it now, then the raging community made em a little scared of their choice, and they made comprimise, which translates to best option, so what if u dont get duos, can you explain where t4 duos are? at least 4 dlc's was t4 n no duo, ppl still managed.

    3.2 marks a day just running the open world content from af1 without reseting, + a likely chance of a lockbox. U can do all 3 Open world missions in less then 20min, n u will also work towards the quantity feat of the gear u get from them.

    My conclusion is, devs has met us as far as they can n still have hope for longlivity of dlc 11, now if we can reduce the whining so we could get the dlc that would make me a happy man.

    and why was this not done in the first place?
    it is cleary the most logical solution that appeases everyone,keeps gear progression in check and causes the least amount of extra work.

    Oh wait......thats exactly why it wasnt done.

    So in other words you'd completely EXCLUDE solo players from gaining MoP?!? That was one of the major complaints many players including myself expressed, that both HoP and the addition of MoP would completely exclude solo players from the DLC. Without any solo content, and when "I" say solo content I am talking about the open world solo missions, players like me get absolutely nothing... no gear progression, no content, zip, nada, nothing. Having invested a ton of money into this game in the year+ that I've been playing, I've done so because I understand this game is "multiplayer based" and to play solo means having to invest the $$ into RB's, I don't think it is unreasonable that some form of open world missions are included in all DLCs- this is why I am completely satisfied with this compromise, because it offers me an opportunity to continue advancing even if it means repeating the AF open world missions another 500+ times.

  12. BumblingB I got better.

    This seems like a good comprimise. It actually places solo content into DLC11. So it gives us 5 extra marks a day if we wish to run the content to the fullest.

    My question is though, you know how we have a chance at winning an extra mark instead of gear in the solos? Do we get an extra of both or just MoF?

    So am I reading this correctly that MoF are useless past AF1? If so then why is there a 100 MoF cap? This is rather confusing & I am sorry if this comes off sounding dense. I honestly see no reason to change the current system since it was implemented to do away with multiple marks of this & that. I think a better solution would be to keep the current system but add 1 older style to the Rare Style Vendor per DLC trilogy. This way once we have our gear it would give many of us a good reason to keep running the content & make it worthwhile.

    It's not that they're useless - they just can't be spent on stuff from another DLC.

    There are still several things MoF can be used to purchase. They can even be outright converted into Prestige if you really have nothing else to spend them on.

    For those who are complaining we just had a small group dlc with no raids and 1 alert...HoP has I believe two alerts and 3 raids.. u can just replay or grind the alerts gawd the devs try to something for everyone and you soloist just had a dlc catered to you guys so sit down its the hardcore players turn and again you can just grind out the 4 man missions yous had no problem with just the TD

    Not to mention progression is still alot faster then it used to be...2 or 3 raids a week to get marks for the needed gear which is like 20 to 30 marks a week now its 10 to 15 a day gtfoh crybabies

    Did you even read the feedback? I mean it was centered around variety and time availability not necessarily group size. And yeah a small group DLC was released.... except before the change above none of the content was useful for the new gear. It was essentially blocked off for the rest of tier 6. Also do you even realize that from reports 8-Man content is still played less than Duo and 4-Man content? Duos are still useless for new gear even though they are apparently more popular.

    You can't really make a comment if you don't actually read or comprehend the feedback and discussions.

    They mentioned why this doesn't work: each instance takes the same amount of time to create. Since they see DLC 11 as being one of their largest DLCs released, that means they probably will not release more than 5 instances in any DLC. For smaller DLCs, that would give them room to add either 1 duo or 1 solo to your proposal. For larger DLCs, that would give them room to add either 1 alert or 1 raid to your proposal.

    I think people would be pretty disappointed with 2 solos, 1 duo, 1 alert, and 1 raid or 2-1-1-1 of any other combination. I would personally like to see them scrap the solo challenges and just leave us with the dailies in the open world that we can run solo, but there are some who like the iconic solos and would complain. The dailies in the open world are easier for them to make more of, so we could get 5 dailies and have those change their marks system when the large DLC is released like they are doing now with the Amazon Fury dailies for Halls of Power.

    yeah I read its why I said to those complaining and the variety has everything to do with what im saying....you do realize that without this change you could get the new dlcs gear without actually playing the af stuff grants a minimum of 115 marks a week if you do everything...if you were a dev and supporting this game was your job would you release a new product that doesnt even have to be bought or played....knowing the games that are coming out

    You mean like every single other tier ever released to date? It was kind of the point to have more and more content for a given tier, hence the feedback. Alternate solutions were given during that feedback as well that retained the goal but kept the variety.

    As for games coming out they come out weekly all of the time. MMOs have been released and DCUO is still up. Games coming out really doesn't affect the situation here much at all.
