Omg. Those traitors!! How dare they taunt our enemies only to protect them from our pew pew pews. You definitely hit the nail on the head with a hammer in your post.

As with any other MMO, the DPS is actually supposed to wait their damn horses until the tank has everything taunted and positioned where he wants it. Issue with adds moving? Don't freakin' attack them! Problem solved :)

You presumed that out of thin air. I mentioned nothing of a certain number of adds. Literally was just talking about grabbing aggro and keep moving.

Exactly, A lot of comments are acting as if it's a good burn/bad burn issue. I'm pretty sure every DPS has the same effective range and ineffective grey range beyond that. On top of that, from what I understand a lot of AOE supercharges take time to hit. Me personally, I almost never waste supercharges on hallway adds and if I'm being honest, I barely put effort in to hallways adds anyway. But once in a blue moon I do actually care about burning adds and when they get pulled out of range, it's a tad irking, so I can sympathize.

I did not presume out of thin air, if you bothered to read the other replies I'm not the only one who misinterpreted your post. But thank you for singling out me and only me, I feel truly blessed.

This right here. All of this. Every bit of this. To the last crumb.

    No hate, just disagreement.

At the beginning of content where I'm tanking I'll gauge the ability of the PUG on the first few fights. If they seem competent I'll drag trash mobs forward until I have a large group because, yes, fighting one fight against nine trash mobs is faster and more efficient than fighting three separate fights against three-man trash mob groups. It's basic math.

Teamwork should be about working smarter, not harder so if you see that your tank is pulling the enemies through content to make a bigger group, adjust your strategy to not start your rotations until the tank stops dragging them around.

    Yes.

Timebomb is slow and doesn't track. Adds are already melted by the time Time Bomb explodes. It won't be viable in PVE until it's updated. Aesthetically I love the move, and remember the days when it was OP. It needs an update for PVE, but for now Quantum is pretty strong and doesn't need it. Quantum mains (not alts) do some sick damage in melting adds without Time Bomb, various loadouts out there that makes this work. Quantum very fun too, so we can imagine what that'll be like if Time Bomb had it properties relative to content.

I have no issue with tanks trying to pull extra adds, my beef lies with those who leave adds BEHIND trying to attempt this.
This is exactly why I make friends with good tanks. It's really a waste of time doing FGS and we can't get to the LB boss because the tank wanted to be "quick." That's an extra minute + going all the way back to melt.

My friends who tank do that all the time, I usually don't because I wait on my group but It does save time and I can honestly see both sides here.

^^ This is why it’s situational. IMO, it can be faster to pull a few groups of adds together, but if you pull in a Minotaur or a Shield Armor, you make all that burn almost totally moot.

Amen. I ran a ISE the other day, I didn't wanna tank, I wanted to DPS in fact I told the group leader I wanted to DPS. But they couldn't find a tank and a friend in the group suckered me into tanking. I relented and the group of adds right before the split and you go off to the 1st boss I was in the process of gathering those adds and 1 of the DPS got too gung-ho and just went all in started attacking and died. Meanwhile, the rest of the group realized I was still grouping them up and stayed back, I was blamed by him...he started b***hing and moaning about the the tanking. Meanwhile I tell my screen "go F yourself dude I didn't wanna tank in the first place".

Just so I know the rules. If I'm DPSing with a tank who's running way ahead to get 'all' the adds (btw...it likely won't be 'all' of them as the slow movers will lose agro, then go after whoever's nearest)...and as I wait to throw shots to allow him time to do so. Will that tank defend me when my dps is 'low' as the other players are wailing on adds from jump, but I wait? Cause in DPSUO, damage is king and the scoreboard lets others know if you are a good player or not.....right? Or if that tank bites off too much and dies, then b***hes at the group for letting him die...what then?

That kinda falls apart when it comes to group situations, though. "Do what you want to do" works far better in single player content.

Speaking generally, the instant you go into larger group content (alerts and raids) it stops being all about the individual. You've got anywhere between 3-7 other people that you have to take into consideration at that point.

I don’t do it when I’m tanking and generally don’t mind when others do, but I’ve seen a lot of tanks try it recently and it just causes more problems rather than save time.

I think this is evidence on how much they lack SP. I just got out of an instance (phantom zone for time grains) where the tank was trying to pull everything and kept losing control.

I watched as he popped every shield in his loadout within seconds trying to not die.

FGS was the worst for this tank style and straggler adds.
Still was no big deal, i fail to see the issue……
Kill stragglers, join tank, kill pile

Its not really that difficult……. Learn to dps an kill whats supposed to be killed……….
Advanced degree in astro physics required? Not so much

As a tank, I'd say you have as much right to criticize the pulling as I do telling you your dps loadout.

But, I'll tell you why I'd pull ahead, two reasons...
    1. Dps keep rushing ahead and/or causing aggro before me and
    2. Trollers stunning before I can pull adds together.
