After the clamp the opinion of the people is also according to the people and their power, the one who takes a power of lazy cheat whereas others have a power fessant less of damage, inevitably, all the world will not have the same vision of the clamp, of a power has another one, the vision of the game can be completely different of even with the players precision and might!

Without forgetting all that the devs made to bridle the powers with this stupid idea of the augments which would never have had place to be !!!

The balance of powers is even more dramatic now I think because of all this...

FOS3 is now tier 1. I was primarily referring to the current tier 3 raids, though Fatal Exams is interesting for the 4-player content.

Im not really a number cruncher so i stay out of balance debates (as long as my power feels good to play) But i could imagine with so many numbers (SP, Augments, Allies, etc) to account for. Balance is an approximation, rather than a certainty at this point. And for PvP IMO its simply not possible to balance at the point, and they would have disable, pretty much everything like Artifacts/ Allies/ etc/ to make PvP even remotely fair. That does not even account for power disparities. That i could imagine is allooooooootttt of numbers to crunch.

While I see parts of your point currently we live in DPS Universe Not everyone is and will be a Battle tank and I stand by my comment that Skews the outcome, while I still Appreciate what you are doing and I did see you DPS when you did DPS you carried the group and while battle tank your 3rd DPS.

My group with a random tank = No Tank gear level 39 star heart artifact, level 76 pied pier and no 3rd artifact and he pulled all the adds into the group over and over and over, so my point is while you are a good tank random tanks will not be specced for battle tanking or even know how or what it is ;)

So, I decided to do a few tests. At first, I queued up for a handful of raids that I thought could be problematic. I waited for quite a few minutes, no pops. So I decided I was going to just focus on one raid that someone else mentioned in another thread - Happiness Home. Launched May 2015.

So I queue up as DPS, wait about 12 minutes, and boom, a wild pop appeared. I accepted.

    This is how it went:

Buttery smooth. 9 mins 36 seconds. As luck would have it, we had 2 healers. Really didn't pay very much attention to what other people were doing; we seemed to follow the mechanics, although the laser beams on the floor didn't do much. I think some got hit by Lashina's reflect, but minimally. I was able to kill the drone myself.

Now, I think normally, Proxy, you would have ended the video, edited, uploaded, and came in here to post that Happiness Home is not an outlier. 'Conclusion - Not an outlier, finished with ease (sub-10 minute run, after all), and a pre-made would completely destroy it'.

But I did a little more digging. Turns out, 6 of the 8 players are end-game players, with the other 2 being up there in CR:

Was this truly a 'normal' run of this, there weren't really any new players, was it really a good example? After all, we keep hearing horror stories.

So I decided to queue again for Happiness Home. This time, my video recording software failed me, so I didn't get any video. But it took us even less time in this run, I believe it was 9 mins 2 seconds. Granted, I think 4-5 of them were in the same league.

Wow, that was now 2 in a row with absolutely zero problems. Basically face-rolled the content. This stat clamping thing is cake.

I wanted more data, so I gave it one more shot. I queued again, but this time I also chose 'tank' role to speed the queue up. Queue pops shortly after, and I'm the tank.

    Ugh, here's how that went:

It's a long video, I know - time stamps for reference:

0:00 - 3:42 - First and second boss, no wipes.
7:19 - First wipe - a vote to kick happens, most of us vote no.
8:21 - I explain the mechanic that killed us.
11:00 - Healer dies, second wipe happens (21 mins into the raid). 2 people leave.
11:31 - 14:40 - I ask for some opinions on stat clamping. Explain the mechanic, again. Some hilarious and also serious discussion on what needs to be done.
    18:38 - We finish, hurray!(...?)

Total raid time: 34 mins 32 seconds (almost 4x longer than the first 2 runs)
    Total deaths: 63
    Total rallies: 49
    Frustration/Irritation: Priceless

Conclusion: There are some things your sanity can't handle, for everything else, there's end game.

I can't help but wonder, if I hadn't been in this run with them and explaining what was happening, would they have even completed the run? Would they have figured it out eventually? Or disbanded? If a window popped up, right after the raid was over, and asked "How was your experience in this raid, 1-10", I wonder what the ratings would've been.

Blackest Night requires that you explain the mechanics of Nekron, and that's usually about it.

    Chapter Three

Preface - I've added an extra comment relating to where I see perceived difficulty/frustration risk and where I might have individually impacted it through my actions.

So with a hop and skip we're off for another short journey to see where it takes us, all aboard the Happiness Home Train and a dive through Necropolis. Just so you don't think I'm precision bias, I just might take a stroll through Necropolis with a touch of might melee delight - let's see what adventure awaits.

Happiness Home - Halls of Power
Conclusion - Not an outlier, finished with ease, time taken to finish quick - confident a pre-form group would beat this with greater ease.
Extra Comment - There are risks of frustration in this raid if people don't comply with mechanics, I was the only one burning down the shield drone, had that not been done, in likelihood Granny might have empowered Superman and caused a group wipe, players have to comply with mechanics or face frustration.

    Necropolis - Halls of Power
Conclusion - Not an outlier, finished with ease, time taken to finish quick - confident a pre-form group would beat this with greater ease.
Extra Comment - Decided to play with Might based Melee DPS, no difference in potential performance :)

And with those two under our belts I've got some requests to do no doubt, See you all when the next Omnibus adventure calls.

lol, I actually did the same raid and yes, that was my conclusion ;)

But you'll see that's why I've added an extra comments section going forward.

The ease at which that raid is now being completed may also be testament to the fact people are being force fed mechanics now :)

The difference being those that know and those that don't know

It will, we’re already close to one shotting adds completely, and bosses get melted extremely fast

The Extra Comment is a nice touch.

Hey, the solowing, call the police, Proxy single-handedly saved this raid by doing the mechanic. Those people learned nothing, they're just brainless conditioned idiots still.

yeah, you bring in a competent DPS with 200 arts and more than 400 SP in pretty much any OMNI raid and things start to evaporate - only the 'pass/fail' mechanics really apply. Any further above that line will trivialize the content.

Starting to wonder how much of the pushback against the clamp is actually pushback against not being able to outburn certain mechanics any more...

not as bad as you would think as long as at least one other person will listen to you for the mechanic before you start the room.

Believe it or not, I actually applaud you doing this. It's meaningless and I won't watch one of your videos (maybe one...if on a bio break maybe)...but you are putting in the work...nice job. Can't wait to not watch the other videos, but I will read the summaries. As of now, the only one I'd maybe have said I've had a different experience in is CT. I'd say you got lucky in your draw, but then...I haven't watched the video.

I was going to say the same thing about the arti swapping...but hey, so many people are doing it now, there's bound to be one in every group....I won't object to it tilting the results unless Proxy ends up carrying the group across the finish line. Not that it isn't possible, but that should not be the goal in an 'average' omni run.
  17. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

I'd like to see HH where Proxy is NOT the primary damage output. It would be fun to see if the other DPS go after the drone without coaxing or they wipe.

And I'm sure He would NEVER cherry pick results just to skew how it looks. Shame on you for even suggesting such a thing.
  18. Proxystar #Perception

On the scorecard I was 2.2mil one other DPS was 1.7 another 1.45ish and another 1ish

I was top damage, but I wouldn't suggest the other DPS weren't carrying their weight so to speak otherwise the scorecard would have been disproportionately in my favor moreso than that.

To provide a bit further clarity to HH, the reason I do not consider it to be an outlier instance is because the instance as demonstrated can be finished with ease, it can be made harder based on individuals but in my opinion those are outlier players at that point, not an outlier instance.

The instances I consider outliers will be those that are problematic most of the time, if not every time, not those that are problematic only some of the time because of the players involved.

I have no interest in cherry picking anything, if I run the instance I'll record it and post it, if we find an outlier, I'll report the outlier, anything that I hit that becomes "struggle street" will be classified as a potential outlier warranting further investigation.

I will then go through and run that instance further times to verify its status as problematic/outlier and see where it goes from there.

I also haven't exactly decided when to consider something an outlier, one wipe, multiple wipes, is there a time duration? If you've got ideas I'm happy to hear them where I can potential incorporate them in to my views.

When you run SS, BBS and Prison break, make sure to have your chat tab off combat so we can see if mechanics are covered where needed. If everyone already knows the mechanics, these are NOT average runs.

I mean unless you absolutely NEED to stare at your DPS numbers the whole time...I guess that's likely...but more info to your testing results would be available in the group/instance chat. It would be interesting to see how many people were popping '1st run' kind of feats...Again, some indication if they are 'new' or not. As it stand NO-ONE in your CT video was jumped 'up' CR...they were all clamped down to 273. You can't believe that's an average situation...that no one in the group was jumped up...only down?

PS...Ok...I watched Clocktower....As far as it seemed, almost no mechanics discussions were had, likely meaning you were running with more experienced players or players on low alts. Looked like a smooth run...smoother than I've seen in some made groups post clamp even.;)

Undoubtedly, My first time through things though, right or wrong, being a little reserved as to what feedback I give, in fact in all of my videos so far I've offered no feedback at all whatsoever, because my first runs through I'm hoping to make it a little "nude" for lack of a better phrase.

In saying that, with Happiness Home, the others perhaps may have burned the drones down had I actually said something in chat, perhaps they also left them because they saw I was doing it and figured it was under control, we don't actually know and that's probably something worth at least passing consideration :)
