Group, While the game is down, I thought I'd take a moment to ask for a short tutorial on teaming. When I'm in game, there's a lot of shouting going on, so I can hear people talking, but I don't really know how to involve myself in a team, or even how to talk to the people around me for roleplaying. Sorry for a newbie question, and when the game is up, I've enjoyed solo play, but I'd be glad to interact with other players in character, and I don't know how.
I believe there are certain leagues who do role playing. ...maybe someone could shed some light on it for you.
Be rude and be elitist. That seems to be how most people get noticed. Snark aside, look for a good league. Unless it's a hardcore RP league and there aren't a lot of those on here, just find a friendly group and ask questions. Just be yrself is how the game usually works. If someone is a jerk, feel free to leave, there are plenty of nice people out there. Helix Enterprise is taking members. We use Teamspeak quite heavily (you can get it on phone or tablet) but are open to using in-game chat. Normally our cut-off was CR 53, but we may have laxed that a bit. Check it out. Cheers.
I never hear anyone talking at all. I have in game chat on since the merger. Only time I've ever heard people talk, is in groups. Is there supposed to be an ambient chat? Like hearing people around you that are NOT in group???
I'm a little confused by what you're asking... It seems as though you want a crash course on how to play with a team? but then you talk a lot about talking and interacting with other players? Which one is it you're looking for advice on? If you're looking for a crash course on group play, let us know what role you are. It'll help explain or guide you to the right sources of help.
Yes, proximity chat. You can enable it in settings but it only works if you and others are in that chat. I believe it is the default voice chat channel if you are not in a league.
So you mean, normal talking in a group like "Block! Supply drop!! pick up plz"...why no one picked me up!?" Or do you mean roleplaying? if that is the case there's some supergirl person in the forums who has some roleplaying league (if so, i'll have to come back later though, can't recall the exact name), or probably just post "looking for a roleplaying league", roleplaying ppl usually answer quite fast to those.
