In an interview with Rolling Stone Michael Bay has confirmed he will return to direct the next Transformers movie for a summer 2017 release
Hasbro and Paramount actually plan on continuing the Transformers movie franchise for the next 10 years already plotting out their universe with sequels and spin-offs with a new assembled writing team in the form of I am Legend's Akiva Goldsman, “The Walking Dead” and “Invincible” creator Robert Kirkman, the Iron Man writing pair of Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, “Fringe” and “Lost” scribe Jeff Pinkner, "Marvel's Daredevil" Steven DeKnight", X-Men: The Last Stand and The Incredible Hulk‘s Zak Penn, and Christina Hodson and Lindsey Beer.

I pretend to think that Transformers only exist in animation that were once considered saturday morning cartoons.

It seems I will have to keep my thoughts like this even further.

I prefer watching Youtube playthroughs of the latest video games over the Michael Bay films. The games keep the G1 feel, the transformations are logical and there's little screen time given to the pesky humans!

I admit to loving the first 3 movies (Laugh if you will, but Optimus was one of my 3 childhood role models :D ) , the 4rth i went to see because Grimlock...but i hated how they were all "oh, remember your favorite transformers from childhood and also the first 3 movies...yeah, they kind of died...offscreen..."years ago"... regardless of bada**ess...bumblebee survived somehow though..now go buy our brand new merchandise" only TFs that could make me go watch TF5 would be Alpha Trion and Metroplex :/ and i find it really unlikely they can pull them off now :(

They want to use only the name, and none of the story-lies ideas from the cartoon. That's like making a superman movie about a guy who drives a talking car.

I agree but I saw the first film and it was okay but the 2nd just meh. When the 3rd came out, I wasn't interested but was dragged to see the 2 sequels by my then boyfriend who kept believing that the franchise will get better. Think he had battered person syndrome.

I've yet to see a Transformers movie. They just didn't really excite me much (and with how terrible the GI Joe movie were, my expectations are lowered that much more)

The most important thing to gleam from this info is that the films will have writers now.:D

War for Cybertron and Fall of Cybertron were great not just as games but in terms of adding to the lore while paying homage to the source material.

The Tranformers comics are from IDW Publishing since 2005, and they are kicking butt on the franchise. The fact they don't get any of these comic writers to work on the films is disturbing, I'm hoping that Robert Kirkman's role will be getting more of the comic book influence into the films.

[IMG]Well nothing much has been reported about the movie aside from set photos and concept posters until now. If you're not aware, but the next Tranformers movie will be titled The Last Knight . Apparently this time around the Transformers somehow have ties to.....wait for it....King Arthur and the Knights of the Round. Recently, it was reported that actors Liam Garrigan was cast as Arthur and Santiago Cabrera as Merlin. Now the rest of the plot remains unclear but after reading updates on the film, I for one will skip this and any sequel thereafter. The Bayness is just too much; I mean come on, 20 bucks there's a scene where both King Arthur rides his horse alongside Optimus in slow mo with huge explosions galore.
