    I repeatedly asked for both.

I will call you on that one....

Playing the game and bulding up your character to get to that point is not "any effort".

It takes time and effort to get to that point.

BUILDING YOU CHARACTER'S STRENGTH IS THE POINT OF THE GAME... You worrying about how other people get skill points isn't.

Yay one whole person! But let’s be real. EEG was a ghost town before the clamp.

Time and effort lol. I could make a new toon, do some easy solo over and over to get to 350 go back and kill a boss within seconds if there’s no clamp. Thats not effort. Thats pure stats and over leveling. Effort would be doing what’s described on the feat to get the feat.
  5. Essential Exobyte Dedicated Player

Effort: doing what the feat says.

In conclusion, getting a feat takes effort and is not applicable to how it is achieved.

I love when the clampers shoot themselves in the foot.

Feat says to beat a boss while avoiding X mechanics. Kills boss within seconds and mechanic never happening to get feat. You don’t avoid the mechanic. You bypassed it. Funny how cry about swapping not being intended and being an exploit because the lingering effects were never intended. Devs stated they never intended stats to get this out of hand. Beating bosses while avoiding the tasks assigned to them is an exploit!!! Stop exploiting the stats!

Yeah... but... after of years of practice... it comes easy for him...

    ...so it doesn't count.

Okay, so to perhaps address the elephant in the room...

This is an open question to anyone, but...

Are there any feats in normal (ignoring elite content) clamped content harder now than they were when they were new and if so what ones? AND Why?
  9. Essential Exobyte Dedicated Player

Welp, then don’t do any open world stuff in metro or Gotham as that is unclamped. You laid out the rules, now you must follow them.

Oh and, umm, I don’t see how “bypassing” a boss mechanic is an exploit, hell, this eleet solo I get the boss to not do the red beam thingy and kick her butt. Is that an exploit? Hmm? No! It takes skill to do that at end game. Sorry you don’t know how to do stuff on dc. And who said (besides you) it’s an exploit?? Again, the whole point of stat progression is to be able to beat previous content enemies more easily, hence, more burn and more mechanical easiness. Not everyone is like you who needs to experience every little god forsaken detail of a fight 100 years down the road just because you don’t want to ‘skip any mechanics because it’s an exploit’.

No idea, I dont run clamped crap because we are clamped. I would do feat runs on my alts but they require the use of their stats first.

But what I do remember is the cc bounties. It sucked doing the ones in cc as it just takes too much time to ko them. It’s faster just to not do them in cc.

Casual is not unclamp it's clamp they need to go back in change it in change the private queue

Not all feats work this way. Some feats require the mechanic to be cast/done for the feat to count.

Example being some of the old 2 on duty missions per month era missions. Some MUST have the mechanic be done at least once. If it says "avoid said mechanic" the boss has to cast it at least once, then you can kill it and get the feat. But i see what you are saying, yes, its too easy but at the end of the day my argument is this:

    - Most feats require some form of interaction and/or killing monsters, avoiding attacks, building things in the boss fight, extending the boss fight, keeping things alive etc. There is a small amount of feats, my guess 30-40sp worth of feats that can be bypassed with instantly killing bosses, most of which in and of themselves are not hard in the first place, made easier by none clamp if that were to be a thing.
The more players who are stronger means the more end game groups there will be, especially those for E+ if they decide to push themselves to do that. I dont understand why some people with high SP in the 700+ ranges are so concerned about keeping the clamp so much. There are plenty of good, skilled players out there who cannot find groups or people strong enough to get feats done and then they are hindered because everyone else who said person wishes to play with at end game have already done the feats and wont help. This is the same but on a server wide scale in the EU. Players do a feat and never try to help players with that feat unless its a simple, easy feat like "kill this boss in 30s" or whatever. I know for a fact some people like the cap because it slows progression right down so people wont get strong to beat their fragile ego. I also know of a few people who dont like others getting feats/sp because it means they are less special. Not saying that is everyone, but i have met people like that.

According to you guys art swapping is an exploit because the lingering effects were never intended. And it creates an unfair advantage. That also applied to stats. The devs said they never intended out stats to get this far out of hand. And it creates a “huge” imbalance between those who have high stats and those who do not. So going back to do old content using EG stats without being clamped is an exploit. So hurray for the clamp! Just like no art swapping, the clamp help prevent players for cheating and using an exploit!

I mean if you guys did use this logic right?
  15. DeitySupreme Unwavering Player

How cute that you being having high stats equates to being capable to doing E+ lol. People who need to wait 3 years to be able to get a feat probably won’t do that well in hard content

Can I answer your question with a question? Are there feats in normal (not elite) that take more time and effort to even get into than they did when they were new...and every player was running them every week, or sometimes multiple times a week?

Again, it's not always the difficulty of doing 'defeat X thing by doing X process'....sometimes it's 'defeat X random or count by repeating the raid ad nauseum' in addition to doing some specific process.

But for your question, instead of posing for past feats, I'll give you a for instance for the future. KNA alert/raid. Defeat 20 of the first obelisk phase without losing control to the enemies (different wording...but that feat). When this is a daily/weekly runner, likely most groups doing KNAE or KNOE are doing the 5 min strat, and if you run it every day, you'll likely get this feat with almost NO effort...like literally you won't even need to know the feat exists and it will just pop one time...or has popped for most players. In 2 or 3 years...when no one really runs it daily and most groups will not do the 5 min strat (or the strat is patched out), will it take more effort and co-ordination to string 20x of getting it done without losing one? Will it take more effort to get groups together to spam it 20x vs running it as a daily queue in or LFG run everyone is running? Now...is that some insurmountable effort? No...but it's 1 feat of many that have similar situations ('right tool' or the ToTD counts are similar)...and it WILL take more effort to get done whereas it takes 0 effort now, even if the adds and bosses are 'easier' to dispatch when you are fighting.

Sure, would the implementation of Private matches alleviate your concern about "doing X" at least in part?

I also agree with you about KNA/O, I think that's a very important thing for them to consider when this particular instance goes clamped and I hope that they start considering those types of things when they move it clamped.

Might be worth scribbling something down now, so we can make a thread 2 DLC's from now :D

Then your issue (yours and anyone) is not the "stat clamp" it is more to change the amount of times you have to do something, and there probably most of people could agree, instead of killing 100 starros they could reduce it to 20 (for example), but it has nothing to do with the stat clamp.

About the thread, i do believe that to remove stat clamp is like playing Monopoly with endless money, or like playing football without a goalkeeper, or like playing Mus (or any other card game) while you are able to see your oponent cards, is there any fun playing like that? Hard to believe.
  19. Reinheld Devil's Advocate

Yes. Private queue helps with some of these, where the run is doable with less than 8...but MOST runs are NOT doable with 1 or 2 anymore...at least with any kind of efficiency, due to the clamp. Not saying that's good or bad...just saying it's true.

There are a TON of feats throughout all DLCs that really took no effort when we ran them daily/weekly. 250 bottle duos for example. That was a daily run x3 for a lot of people...that's basically 83 days of running something in a DLC that was likely 'current' for 3 months. Not a lot of effort there...just running what you ran to get marks and gear. Going in and doing 250 now, while still not 'difficult' due to burn or mechanics, it's a job to sit down and knock out 250 runs regardless either in one sitting or over weeks or months doing a few at a time, and it's NOT what you would be running for current marks or gear. Making the runs a little bit slower just adds to the job, while in most cases not really adding to a challenge or any kind of 'learning' experience either...moreso if a full or near full raid group is required each time.

It only has to do with the clamp as the clamp makes it more time (just because it's slower) or difficulty in getting in/through the run if many bodies are required. When most everything could be done with 1 or 2 bodies...especially now that they added private queue...these count/checklist/RNG type feats were not as big of a drudgery.

Yeah, they could decrease counts on some high count feats as they hit EEG, but that's a different topic...one possibly worth discussing on a different thread.

And that game is called 'Soccer'......'MERICA!!:D
