Time to get rid of stat clamping

Now that the devs found away so we can custom queue into content, it is time to get rid of stat clamping. Argument from new players was end game players were ruining content for them. Shouldn't be an issue now.

It's not fun if it's that easy. No.

I wanted to complete an arcane edict yesterday and I had to remove gear so I could properly finish the Temple of Crime boss. I want that instance to have a clamped version.

All they need to do is expand casual mode and reduce rewards accordingly. They could already be working on it for all we know.

Lower tiers are easy for a maxed out endgame character, but there's no reason they shouldn't be made more accessible for players that only have gear to rely on or just want it for the playground/sandbox aspect.

I'm all for it for Private Queues. Let people play how they want to play. Obviously the current casual mode didn't disrupt the game (like how everyone against an optional unclamped mode thought it would).

Personally, if I'm sinking time into an MMO, the point is for my character to get stronger and better. It's fun to go back and stomp content that used to take you an hour with your friends. Getting gear and SP and artifacts on a hamster wheel forever shouldn't be the end-game for a game like this. Give us the option at least.

Sure why not? If they take away art swapping they should take away stats clamp. Uh oh here we go again... :D

I paid for a DVD player with USB 15 years ago.
They don't make DVD anymore and everything's bluetooth.
    Make DVD great again.

Then what’s the point of a forum if we can’t talk about a certain terrible game update from years ago?

That was a time where the machines tried to revolt. They were the terminators in trying to get rid of stat clamp but in the end the humans won.

Good point! Lemmie queue up that Casual mode DWF....oh wait.

No joke, I don't even really care anymore, and as one of the ringleaders of the 'anti-clamp' camp... that says something, HOWEVER...and this was suggested a long time ago...custom+private queue goes unclamped....Omni, or 'custom+matchmaking' queue goes clamped. It wouldn't be really that hard to implement.

Now...as far as 'splitting the playerbase', or 'did you earn those feats' discussions...yeah, there are pros/cons there, but with the intro of 'casual' runs, they've proven that they are open to having an unclamped option...something that was NOT on the table not long ago.

So yeah....'problem solved' goes both ways.:D

Show some reverence for 'The King'...it was no 'monster'...it was a GIANT among discussions.

Basically, from what I can understand, how instances work, you have a script with action that need to happen to trigger the next event. Then, when people are too strong, they will corrupt the script by killing the bosses too fast.
For example, the Scarecrow boss needs to go through his transformation, then after the last one, when you beat him, the door opens, but if you kill him right away, the script get corrupt and the door does not open.

They never imagined people would ever be that strong, so they did not add some variant to the script to cover all probability, so the easy fix was to put a stats clamp.

They could go and rework every single old instance, but by doing this they would neglect future content.
So, by removing the clamp, all the script corruption would return, making it impossible to finish most instances.

The question would be why they keep putting a clamp on future content after, but again, the clamp still does the work to prevent future possible script corruption that they would never have imagined that could happen.

Ofc all this is never been confirmed just an opinion .

    Sorry for bad English.
