the two of you are so hilariously out of touch with the reality of in game. Like, my sides won't stop hurting, hilariously out of touch. I'm sure all 30 of youre league buddies agree with you.

No I actually think he's right.

There's the people that hate capsules that either are or aren't feeding into the system under compulsion (they still hate capsules)

and then there's the whales who seemingly love gambling, think they're going to hit it lucky and are spending hundreds on these things.

Well, if Proxy says it's so on the forums, it must be so. I love how little credit you're willing to give the playerbase about choosing to spend their money. Obviously they're all morons, who are geting fleeced, or they're weak-willed and easily compulsed to spend their money. No room for people who actually just enjoy putting some money away to spend on something frivolous, and enjoying it.

I know this is difficult for the forumites to process, but there are a whole range of viewpoints, perspectives, attitudes, and modes of enjoyment that many of you are incapable of seeing, because if you don't like it, or you think it's a scam, it must be bad, and everybody must feel the same way.

Then you come to the forums, present your opinion(many of you treating it like a statement of fact, when it is in fact no more or less valid than any other viewpoint.)

Then you get a bunch of likeminded individuals in a pin drop sampling of the actual game population who agree with you, and you think that means everybody does.

That's just confirmation bias. It's not evidence of anything.

The reality is, lots of people are buying TCs. There are several possible attitudes those people have, not the just the two you've presented because its convenient for your argument.

The reality is some may indeed feel compelled. But you don't know that to be true for anything resembling a majority. That is pure conjecture with no evidence to back it up.

If people honestly weren't at least OK with them, they wouldn't be spending their money on them. All of the hemming and hawwing on the forums here can't changed that fact. And that's why nobody's listening to it. At least nobody who matters.

This is one of the biggest issues a lot of players have , by not buying you fall behind so if you're a feat hunter like most serious players are then you are pretty much given no alternative , this then feeds the income generated by the capsules making them a successful implementation (nobody can dispute they have been financially successful for DBG)

Unfortunately its ultimately us as the players that have bought this upon ourselves by supporting it even when we don't agree with it , I am guilty of buying 40 stabilizers during the AF3 run in one go before I understood what was happening (I was on hiatus during the first set of TC's)
  6. Proxystar #Perception

You'll notice I used the words "I" and "think" before "he's right". I owned it as my opinion I didn't use the statement "he's right".

I appreciate you have your own viewpoint.

It's not about morality or immorality, at the end of the day this is a game, so indulge as much as you want. I can spend money and not feel it pinch my pockets but when I see the league roster falling apart because majority of my friends, league mates quit playing the game on account of blatant cash grab, my own enjoyment suffers big time.

In an MMO setting, people are perhaps the most valuable currency of the game, the content per se gets boring in less than a week after its release, but having a community of like minded and like skilled players keeps the game enjoyable. We have a lot of members in the league that can't put up obscene amounts of money to complete their feats and our league comprises of completionists and no one else.

This also affects the health of the EU server in general and PC players have too many gaming options that they will simply quit, which in my case has already happened in part. So, if I have to find other players or a new league when I can't possibly think of ever finding a better set of players of the entire server, I am left with no other option than to go with my league mates and friends and play something else.

For the people that think it's just about SP, it's not:
1- Mods- Time capsules are selling gear mods that will be needed in the coming future, go into the test forums and notice how some of the abilities in the powers that have changed just so happen to be the ones with a TC mod. This type of item should be acquired in game by playing and not from some RNG box or spending ridiculous amounts of in game cash (which free and prems have no access to).

2- Gear- TC contain gear that helps you level up, not just some cosmetic item but actual gear that's the same level as raid gear at their max, meaning you could literally buy your way to CR 188 without doing a single raid in the game.

3- Feats- You think 2 or 3 feats per capsule is nothing, but what happens when you have 3 in 6 months and clearly another one is just around the corner, and if you think when the current ones return there will be no new feats, you are wrong, they will have new feats meaning it will keep adding up. If you look at how many feats we got from content in the last 6 months of Episodes (being Ep 24 to 26) it's not that far from what we got from the last 3 TC. It adds up people, slowly but it does.

4- RNG- Saying members don't have to pay anything to get the items is just a plain old lie, with 2000 cash you wont complete a single collection, with 2 stabilizer a week you wont come close to anything because before you know it this TC will be gone and you will start all over. You can save them and keep getting stabilizers forever, but with RNG time isn't a factor, you can't plan when to open them because you only have so many keys and with a new TC every 2 months you can at best open maybe 11 or 12, good luck finishing a single 12 piece collection in an RNG system like that.

Sadly they have gone P2W, don't believe it if you want but don't come crying when after stats matters you need a TC mod and can't find one anywhere. Or even better when people start demanding TC mods for content (hell they are demanding SP and CR for the event). Columbus Nova was smart in hiring someone who's only real expertise is in getting as much money from a player base at all cost, even more when some of the player base doesn't care about anything because they can afford it (keep in mind they still advertise this a free to play game, which hasn't been in years). They don't care and will ignore, I repeat WILL IGNORE any and all feedback that is negative towards the TC, so the only way to stop it is to not buy a single key, just don't do it. It's not about being rich or poor, having lots or few SP, it's about integrity and this game is losing it fast.

I can relate to this on a massive scale , Pre 47 I was part of a league that had 20+ players on most of the time , all different levels and running all content , 47 killed my league and already I can see what the current changes will do.

I don't want to leave the league i'm in but sadly it's hard to run as a league when only 3 people are on at a time , it's truely soul destroying and buzz killing of the highest order when it comes to the fun I had playing back then to where i am a s a player now and like you said I've already began playing other games with former league mates that quit back then or have just recently left.

I've been back on DCUO for 6 weeks after a break and as a tank at 188/220 I can't run anything league based except a duo and unless I start to pug everything which i hate doing i won't be getting alert/raid feats done in a hurry.

    Sad state of affairs indeed

It would, but that won't happen.

Same with me. I created a small little league back in the day filled with just close friends. We always raided together and had fun, and now only one of them is left on the game, and he's leaving when his current sub runs out in the upcoming weeks. All the others are either playing other games or are not gaming at all. I'd love for them all to come back and to run with them again, but it just won't happen because the game they once loved is so very different, and with the upcoming changes it might be a little closer but it's still not the same for them.

At least I'm now with my old league and have some good friends in here, but with Stats Matters coming and some of them really not liking the current changes, I'm worried that it might push even more of my friends away from the game. Hopefully it won't.

Sadly IMO I dont Thing the Stats Matter Revamp will do what the Devs are hoping for.
I feel it will have the exact opposite effect. Drive even more People away from the game.

That danger has been pointed out to them before they even started - here on the forums. Mepps even "acknowledged" some of those posts on the initial work in progres thread.

players would not have to worry about RGN , Just put the auras/styles /materials in the market place ,
tons & tons auras, styles & materials, no feats , devs would make more money this way . once players spend money on the time capsules and did'nt get they wanted they won't buy it again or worse even quit the game , and same with booster bundles , Lets get a Market place going that players want instead of something they don't want.

and all these different (mods) could have edited to work all powers/moves and placed in the home turf or
    made a home turf 2

One thing is for sure, if you don't wanna waste real money to buy "emblems", whaaaaat?, yeah emblems, then there is no way, at least for me, and I consider myself to be a really skilled and devoted player, that I will be able to accumulate around 150-200 million every couple of months to buy some feats out of the broker. So basicly, no matter how good you are, nor how dedicated to playing, unless you spend a ton lot of cash there is no way you will get some feats and this truely is a backstab in my opinion.

    Broker speculation? No, thx.
