Maybe you guys would make more money in game if you spent less time crying on the forum.

Besides the money I've spent on my sub, I spent $5 to get myself the Eastern Lair a couple weeks ago. Outside of that, I've never spent another dime on this game. I currently own every single feat item/exclusive out of all three time capsules sets, except for Corrupted, Void, Azure and the Qward Henchmen, and I have more than 500M so I could afford all three of them now if I wanted to.

Yet I'm not a "no-lifer", in fact I quit in April and just recently returned in October. I spend my time on this game wisely and I don't spend hours whining on the forum and I've been able to get just about everything I've wanted without having to "pay to win" at all.

    to a certain degree.

i have no issue with something like the time capsules. the first round was deemed a success by all. Nothing was too rare, prices on the broker were workable. It wasn't expensive. I ended up spending 30 bucks over the course of a month which was fine. Everyone got a few feats, the bonus auras and batman styles was requested by many, the gear helped bring up alts a little and the lantern auras were also a much requested item. This was fun.

The amazon time capsules were a nightmare. Too many 3 star feats attached to items that are way too rare, gear equal to raid drops, exobytes dropping like heavy rain. It messed up what could have been a really great dlc but instead everyone got to 188 overnight and the content was curbstomped. I'm also a little skewed with these bacause when they went live i had about four months worth of loyalty points saved up and i took advantage of the black friday sale at the psn store. I spent 40 bucks on these and i got more than double what i paid for (i also had enough gamestop rewards saved up to get 10 extra dollars in psn store credit which i used for mpc.)

This go around, i dunno. Besides the feats there really isn't anything i really want. The void mat would be nice but i'll be able to live without it. I already got the cytrine aura (which i really like) just by buying the collections off the broker. Its aon new month, havent spent my allowance yet on anything (including my sub i like keeping things to 40 bucks a month) but i really dont want to spend any money stressing out.

I dont think the marketplace has ever been given a fair chance. over the years items placed in the mp have always been kind of lame. with the exception of buying a vanguard of the cosmos (which is probably my favorite item in the game) I didnt use the marketplace for anything until replays were brought into play.

Some effort was made over the past year with the hairstyles and aura bundles, the harley style...but again, these all felt like afterthoughts. near hits giving us items that we kind of wanted but werent really on target.

Things like special materials and auras should go on the marketplace. I'm fully confident the time capsules would still be sellinglike crazy with free op gear, feats, emblems and tons of bytes to keep us modded for years to come and the game would have a permanent source of renewable income on the marketplace as well.

anyway this really does all suck. if it wasnt for the time capsules i know i would be enjoying things much more. as it is the past few days i log on, do the af3 and seasonal solos and then wonder whats the point.

Yup we were all shocked and surprised at the time too, that, he actually said it outright and in that way.

I think I kind of get it. it's a matter of principle and precedent. the system is engaging in practices they find immoral and they're speaking up against it. at the very least, I can understand why they'd have an issue with it.

personally, I think it's largely harmless as long as it doesn't start to make up so many feats/skill points that it translates into a not-insignificant amount of power, but I can understand why someone would have a problem with it, to the extent that it means more to them than to simply let someone else do what they want. there are some sides to this that aren't content with simply drawing a line in between the toys they're okay with and the toys they aren't. those sides may be slightly autistic, but I can't simply condemn someone for not turning a blind eye to something they think is wrong.

You'd have to be pretty naive to find this surprising or consider it "news".

My main reason for playing the game is completing feats as well and i understand exactly how you feel seeing an uncompleted feat in your list but when i have to pay 200$ every 8 weeks just to make sure i won't miss out on completing them then that's where i choose to draw the line. Even if i had the money i still wouldn't have continued to support this business model because i despise everything about it and it's morally wrong. No matter how much you like something if that something brings you more disappointment then less enjoyment then you know it's time for you to let go regardless of how hard it is.

I personally decided i will reach 300 skill points then leave the game regardless of how much it pains me to do so. I know i won't be able to get all the feats from now on and since that was the main reason i was still holding on to this game then it's better for me to finally let it go it. But hey like i said in my previous post it's your money you do whatever you want with them just don't expect things to change if you can't restrain yourself from being a completionist and being directly responsible for supporting this business practice. I'd rather see this beautiful game shut itself down then see it making a living from such a despicable business model.

Why I'll be finishing off my remaining feats and then going on an extended break from the game. I can't continue to keep up with and support this business model but I won't leave with missing feats in case I do want to return in the future. You're spot on when you talk about the game just bringing more disappointment. Can't remember the last time I actually enjoyed logging on.

you also have to take into consideration the newbie/casual dollar. i've seen more than a few very low high cr/low sp players sporting phoenix material, shim tar and future crusader gear. if every new player just spends five or ten on time capsules when they start playing no amount of vet boycotting is going to make a dent in how much money is coming in.

i think i'd rather cheat and go to egpal and spend a hundred bucks there over a hundred time capsules (not going to do either, just going to do without).
  10. Kayla El Committed Player

Well i'm assuming there will only be a handful of people who will be able to keep up with this bs and i could do the same as you dump another 200$ on the new capsules just to leave the game with all those feats completed but that will only prove that i am willing to spend the same amount on future time capsules so i won't really make a difference like this. My plan isn't to leave the game my plan is to stand against this business model in hopes that it will change to a new on which will allow me to keep on playing and at the same time keep on supporting the game. As it is right now i refuse to support the game any longer and i choose to leave it behind because at the end of the day it's purpose is to make me feel relaxed not stressed.

I don't like these TCs. All I ever get out of them is junk. I'd never spend money on them.

I didn't complain when i spend 50$ on the first time capsules because even though i didn't like the idea of feats being attached to them in the first place i was still able to complete everything relatively easy. Now i've spend 200$ and opened more then 200 time capsules and still never once i received the "flaming phoenix feather" or the "small zamaron crystal" collections and like many i don't have hundreds of millions in game cash to buy them from the broker or others. Because the broker prices are fked up there is no way to make lots of in game money then to sell these ultra rare collections from the time capsules which means you either have to be lucky enough to get one which you already have for free or spend real money on buying a few stabilizers in hopes that one of those ultra rare collections will drop. Yet again if you think about it if 50$ are enough every 8 weeks for us to complete everything then their profit would be really low as opposed to 200$ or more every 8 weeks which is why some of these collections have their drop rates set so low.

Let them have their cake and eat it as good as it tastes now it won't last for long.

Yup. It just means I will avoid SP like plague. And will never buy any stabilisers ever. I bought ffxv instead. Very happy. Imagine I spent these bucks in stabilisers?... Haha.

That's the thing though. You can not spend money. You can protest against the Time Capsules. You can leave the game. They don't care and things won't change. Countless people spend money on Time Capsules. You can just see Mepps' responses on Discord to see that things won't change. All they really care about is the profit that they're making and that's going to continue. The people spending the money aren't leaving, only the ones that aren't or are spending very very little. Trust me, I want nothing else but the game to change but it's just not. A lot of people talk about leaving the game on the Forums and so on acting like the developers might actually care, but at the end of the day they don't unless you're spending hundreds and hundreds of cash, and even if you do, that's only one person out of the very many.

PS: Not directing this at you, just a general sort of response.

whats worse is all this money were spending and theres not much to show for it. besides the event (which is limited) we have no word on whats coming next, what to expect or when. more money for less content.

this totally makes me wish i took advantage of the old money glitches and hoarded hundreds of millions away on alt toons...

    Well...

Honestly the time capsules are fine in my opinion but my problem is the amount of feats attached to it. It does seem like P2W unless they could make the drop rates better.

I know very well how the situation is and that you're probably right but at this point i really don't care anymore and i'm at peace with myself that i at least tried to change things.

I joined the discord. And no, you can't really voice your feedback. The devs only want we agree with them, they don't accept we are against it. Just show everything there. The way they are just feel like they are our ennemies. That's how it feels to me.
There are no trust between me and them anymore.
  19. SpagTheTapdancer Well-Known Player

just to check, are you saying that because they'll lose, they shouldn't play the game of morality?

that the gesture is empty because the game won't change?
  20. Korlick Loyal Player

I remember one of the devs (probably Mepps) saying that the capsules will return with new stuff in it. It was during the first Capsule, when people said that there wouldnt be time enough to get everything without having to pay real money for it.
