Theory: Fortified Blocking V over Escalating Might V

    This is for Lockdown and Dox to a lesser degree but I think it may be more beneficial for DPS to run the FBV over EMV mod. Especially if using WM. That 150 might is nice but that Def may be a life saver. I'm going to test it but it may be possible to block the one shots with this mod.

    I run with FBV in both DPS and tank. In the higher end instances there's a lot of blocking going on.

    I didn't think DPS players had the Block button, from my experience.

    This is true. Right now even if i am blocking and get hit with the charge or rod I die. I can usually roll or jump out of the charge but that rod is almost impossible to escape.

    This is key........at least for a fire toon like me.

    Escalating might because fortified blocking V doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

    That's 450 might really, isn't it? Thought the mod would give you 151 or so that is stackable up to three times?

    I think the fortified blocking mod is good for healers maybe since they don't need that much resto after all (Artifacts and Necro were solo healable at 4,5k resto for me). A little extra defense for healer aggro situations might be handier I think.
    Also I draw the General Kaze's Teleport to me so I'll easily survive it with a block.

    As for dps'es in general:

    Good player - keep your escalating might.
    Players that acknowledge that they might have a bit work on their movement or positioning to do - grab fortified blocking.
    Players that think they can pull off everything and die far too often - well I would suggest to use the Blocking mod but you'll probably know it better whatsoever.

    No way.

    Guess if you dont know what you doing and find yourself in bad spots a lot.

    If using WM I doubt you can get the 450 might on a constant basis especially if using longer WM combos. It only lasts 8 seconds. By the time you are ready for the 3rd power the first proc has usually timed out. No one can dodge the one shots 100% of the time. Sometimes you just can't time that roll. Blocking is quicker that why I am suggesting it.

    I dont block. I stand there doing WM combos and expect my healer to heal me through it. If he cant ill demand a kick and invite a new healer. Rinse and repeat.

    Okay, I wanna specify this then: Mod works for Nature AM, Electricity AM, Gadgets AM, every power not doing some Hold-Hold-Hold-Hold WMs, maybe not HB->Explosive Shot, but definately DW->Explosive Shot, ...
    So I revise my statement: Everyone who gets done their WM fast or is Gadget's -> Use EMV :)

    Oh I do :p Eerrm I mean everything that one shots me does so even if I block, so I dodge it or am dead either way. I might die to some random parademon actions that might be true then, yes - but one shots? Naaa they are so Origin Crisis in May '13 :cool:
