With luck I finally ran my healer toon as dps and survived on the cliff side which is worst. I prefer to fight
It is different. In WoW you could avoid SOME mobs if you were strategic. You were NEVER able to RUN RIGHT THROUGH MOBS that were SMACK DAB in the middle of your path to the end. There was ALWAYS a calculated Minimum Pulls, with additional pulls and Full Clears whenever WoW was gauged on the test server. It was never a situation where you could skip 90% of the pulls just to reach the end, and when people tried to do that (such as the infamous stealth runs), the Devs would adjust it so it was impossible.
Is flying over the adds supposed to make the instance faster? It's a dumb theory when there's always at least a couple of players getting ko'ed trying to do so. Most of the time all of the adds are standing outside of the door after you kill the boss and you have to fight them anyways.
Wait, so let me get this straight. You are upset at the developers for not designing the map to allow you to skip parts of the instance? Ummmmmm.....last time I checked they wouldn't want you to skip any content.
Meh, I think it keeps things interesting... I don't think it's bad game design, it includes community (group) choice as part of the process of beating the level. It's actually great game design leave an opportunity for players to work out a solution rather than having every little thing scripted and spoon fed. The community decided to skip the adds.... the level designer just made it possible.
I use to enjoy watching a leaguemate wall run in TD, but he switched to flight eventually. Others ways around it are joker's jetpack(free) or the pterodactyl trinket(paid). Though if a random asks for help or dies two times trying to bypass the adds I will just suggest we go back and just fight the adds.
Speedsters/acrobats can bypass adds on both sides. Stay either on the ceiling or top edge of the walls at all times. There are videos on youtube you can check out if you're having trouble.
1. Lag involves itself 2. Not everyone watches youtube videos to see how to bypass content 3. Does not work every time because sometimes they are just within range to shoot you or otherwise agro 4. Does not excuse behavior of group members who don't work together as a group, let alone level design which encourages that type of dichotomy in a group instance.
As Jack Ryder would say "You are WRONG!!!" The ONLY flaw in that design is that anyone could get passed the adds. It was never intended for the adds to be avoided, that was a player decision. That you have issues getting past them is not a design flaw, but instead player laziness in full effect.
Back when I was running TD daily on my speedster alt I got pass the adds without drawing any aggro pretty much all the time. If I do get aggro, it's because I messed up. Adds are completely avoidable every time. Yeah, I hear you on the group members not accommodating one another, but that's just the nature of the beast when you pug. My advice to you is figure out how to skip the adds or try to let the group know you need to clear the hallways. I myself will always skip unless someone asks to clear the halls.
If you're legendary membership, just use part of your monthly marketplace allowance to purchase the robot pterosaur trinket from the Toys menu. Money well spent for speedsters, and great for new alts (sonic speed flight straight off the brainiac ship)
if your on USPS villain side hit me up in-game I'll run this with you tomorrow I have a troll, healer and DPS. But prefer to run it on my DPS as its the 1 Im trying to gear up atm. my IGN is Beastlyhealz
basically in regular movement mode: the 1st group of adds you see in hallway through that door simply ump over them and then climb the wall to the right only half way til your around the corner pass the 2nd set of adds then the 3rd and 4th set of adds can both be jumped passed. This is how I do it as super speed. If you get hit or knocked down mash break out and continue through. If you fall to around 50% health pop cola.
