Lets go back to the very beginning of our lives in DCUO. Remember all the overwhelming views of Metropolis, the nauseating smell of Gotham, the first time seeing Bizarro. I can remember being the most UNINTELLIGENT player in the game. I remember the days when T2 PvE was the best (at least I think, maybe T3). I was so naive, thinking the cash pvp gear you get in the reactor core was the best armor. Needless to say at level 30, I never did one T1 alert or Duo, until coming back to this game after about a year. Share your noob stories.
I remember when I first reached level 30 and tried to do the penguin solo off the bat. Got my butt kicked each time by pengbot maximus.
Yep, that was me. About 10 times. And the Catwoman mission, too. Except I finally got that the third time around. Best thing about being a troller - once you die enough times, you get so many supercharges, that you can shield yourself throughout the entire fight. That's pretty much what I did. No to Pengobot, though, I STILL can't beat that stupid part -__- I'm still relatively a noob. Been playing for 2 months, just reached CR 40 about a week ago. Still trying to raise my CR to at least 43 before I take on ANY raids, heard it's better that way to go in with a little more "experience". Also, one thing I still can't beat no matter how much I try is the that Toyman obstacle course. Thing makes me want to pull my hair out.
Pengbot is easy now to me since I figured out how to beat him. Easiest way is to range him and then knockdown when he does his laser beams. Then once he starts doing the head banging, knock downs only. Also if you get to 43 cr, do the battle for earth duos and lightning strikes duo if you have those dlcs since it will gear you up easily to 53cr. As for the course, just memorize the whole thing. One noob thing I remember though (to stay on topic) is when I reached level 30 I also tried to do the inner alert because the journal told me to do it and did not know it was a raid lol.
speaking of bizzaro, saw a cry go out for help defeating him, i was close by, went over helped. my new 550 dominance rules stuck around 5 more times helping people get thier reward, i even got a box out of it 5marks and master merc shoulders lol
Yeaaa.. I remember wen I didnt even know how to chat or add friends. Or even queue up for an alert cuz I never knew about the clicking the box LEFT of the instance name.. I always click on the name itself.. and so I kept pressing the queue button. Nothing happened lol. Also someone in a league I used to be in mentioned about CR 76 lol I used to think thats like the highest CR in the game.
I remember how scared I was of being inside the Brainiac ship.... and how sexy Calculators voice was... and how I'd log out and back in while on the ship to hear him over and over again. It was so [CENSORED] amazing.
About a year and a half ago I first played for about 3 days. I had no idea what to do and kept going outside to the brainiac robots and getting killed. I stop playing for the next year or so because It was no fun to play and just get killed all the time. Then started playing again back in November and then had mission and everything.
Wow noob story...hmm where to begin. I do remember there were no t2 or t3 challanges, there were only t1 challanges. You had to go to each wing to access consoles then go to the location. I couldn't beat penquin bot when I first got to level 30. Being my first mmo, I didn't know there was alerts and raids, I did everything solo up to level 30. So I decided to try stryker's island and containment unit by myself. Then Syker was t1 alert, not t3, surprisingly I made it to the part where you had to defeat 30 prisoners, that was a fresh level 30. Another, when I first started playing, I didn't know how to lock styles, so I refuse to equip any armor, I didn't want my style to change. There a couple noob stories.
If there is ONE thing that everyone in the DCUO community can agree on, it's that Calculator is way better than Oracle.
The best line he has is when you tour the Hall of Doom. "Welcome to the very bowels of the Hall of Doom, MUHAH-*cough* *ahem*.. Sorry"
I remember when T1 was the pinnacle of gear. When you did that impossible Penguin challenge and only got 2 marks of allegiance for it. That marks of allegiance actually existed. When you needed renown with each piece of .5 gear you bought. You needed trusted renown to complete your .5 gear. When you reached level 30 and Outer showed up as a single player instance. You found out real quick that that was in error. Also showing up as a single player instance was that thing in South Gotham and you showed up, saw what you were up against, and were taken out in short order.
I was invited into a raid before I was a lvl 30. Guy threw out all kinds of abbreviations and I said I wanted in. I was kicked shortly after invite.
wow basically the same here but everyone did diamond heist like full out war at least 50 people of each side..it was awesome. The game was way more fun when I was new
Yeah an d LoA was T1 and there use to be a walk in teleporter in the HoD for LoA. The penguin solo I hate same problem with. It was stuper hard. I remember leveling up yo level 7 I think and couldn't defeat Bane and of course everyone else was siltill new too so we didn't know how to form a group lol
