Multi Lantern's Star Sapphire armory got an upgrade. Finally gave her the emote, the new head accessory, etc. And even managed to upgrade her base a little, just not the room you see here. :)

So, today I was runnin my Speedster (SPEED AVATAR) through the T-3 duos in order to get some decent base items for ACEFLYING TIGER.
Nothing from beating much luck base item wise, but I did have one unexpected bit of good luck in that I was running the Demon’s Pit instance and collected all the Briefing nodes therein.
after I finished that duo, I was thrilled to find that I had finally acquired the AL GHUL hairstyle!
Now My Speedster doesn’t really have much use for the style but On a Tiger-man like AFT?….

So, I would like to update the previous post.

General Kenobi has changed his appearance style many times throughout the Clone Wars, and here are a few that I can currently implement, with the materials that I have.

I really want to see an updated chest style in the game with the same sleeves as the wizard style, which seems to be a bit like the same sleeves, but the overall look of this chest, in my opinion, is just disgusting, so I usually don't wear it...

Right, so, over in the Costume Request Thread, some players requested styles inspired by this newest comic book Batsuit design, especially the utility belt:

I immediately realized something... it's actually VERY easy to make an approximation of that costume, belt included, RIGHT NOW if you use the right combination of styles. The belt will NOT be 100% for reasons I'm going to circle back to, but it's close enough to work for me.

WARNING: SOME OF THE STYLES NEEDED FOR THIS ARE HARD TO COME BY, AND THEREFORE EXPENSIVE WHEN YOU CAN OBTAIN THEM! ALSO, THE EMBLEM USED IS NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE IN THE GAME, AND IT IS UNKNOWN IF IT WILL EVER RETURN TO THE GAME! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

    Styles used--
    Head: Dark Knight Cowl
    Back: Knight of Vengeance
    Chest: Stalwart Defender
Hands: Knight of Vengeance (you can use a different set if there's one you like better)
    Legs: New Genesis
    Feet: Owlsuit
    Emblem: Sixth Dimension Batman
    Waist: Mercenary's Malice
    Accessory: Lasso of Truth
Material: VOID (needed to give the cape the 2-tone look, do NOT apply this to the cowl, as you won't be able to see his eyes if you do that.)
Color Palette: Black, Gray, Blue, and Gold

Put it all together, and here's what you get:

The Lasso of Truth Accessory gives you that rope/cable hanging off of the belt, with any waist style you equip. I think people forget about that stylistic tool!

Now, granted, the Mercenary's Malice Waist does NOT have a "holstered grappling hook gun" displayed at the small of the back, but then, NO waist style in the game has a holster carried in that location, at least, not that I'm aware of! And in the end, IT DOESN'T MATTER, because the vast majority of the time, you won't even SEE the back of the belt because of your cape! The only time the back of the belt is even visible is from very specific, weird angles from which you won't often be viewing your character, anyway:

And I'm gonna tell you a "not-so secret secret": That comic book belt design seems to draw inspiration from the Michael Keaton Batman movies, where Batman was meant to be carrying his grappling hook gun at the small of his back like that. BUT since the cape covered up the back of the belt most of the time, he wasn't walking around on set with that thing hooked on the back of his belt! The prop would only be placed there IF and WHEN a scene specifically needed it to be there, such as if we were going to see Batman reaching behind his back and drawing it out to use it.

SO, just as when watching those movies, you need to WILLINGLY SUSPEND YOUR DISBELIEF and IMAGINE that the grappling hook gun is back there, merely covered up by his cape, capiche? ;)

Oh, and lastly, if you prefer his pants with briefs to look a little more modern, you can use the Stalwart Defender Legs, but then you'll end up with blue knee-pads, as well:

So, bottom line, GET CREATIVE WITH THE STYLES WE ALREADY HAVE! You just might surprise yourself at what you can do if you do! ;)

P.S. If you didn't log in for the Batman Day Event in 2021, and therefore do not have the Sixth Dimension Batman Emblem, you can use a different Bat Emblem, such as the Batman Rebirth Emblem, or any other one you have that might look "close enough" to work. Images of the newest Bat Emblems in the game are still missing from the DCUO Wiki, so I don't even know what all of them look like!

P.P.S. This was a relatively quick style set that I threw together just to prove the point that it could be done. Therefore, I just kept the standard color palette I use on my Wannabat unless I'm making an outfit that calls for something different. The coloring definitely CAN be tweaked, if so desired, for greater accuracy to the character design art.

Okay, so, I went on the Auction Broker and looked at all the available Batman Emblems that were on there tonight. The Future State Batman Emblem, which is from one of the more recent Time Capsules, is probably the closest we have in the game right now to the Bat Emblem design in question. Here's how it looks:

Yes, I know that it looks really small compared to the comic art. I'm using the Stalwart Defender Chest, so it's as large as I can make it. But there is no chest style in the game that makes a Bat Emblem as large as what's seen in that comic art UNLESS the Emblem is built into the chest style. Which leaves you with the Future Crusader Chest if you just have to have the Emblem that large. But its Emblem isn't as close of a match, and that chest style has an armored appearance that isn't right for this costume.

    AND... I'M SPENT!

    So this is interesting….
Today I was updating Flying Tiger’s appearance in Golden Dragon’s armories (GD has armories dedicated to his fellow heroes in the Eternal Forces)
As I applied the sterling Metalweave material to the wings… they looked much darker than they did on Flying Tiger.

After a minute or two of confusion, I realized the cause of the difference.
ACEFLYING TIGER is wearing the Glimmer Wings while GOLDEN DRAGON has always worn the Wings of Sin
for some reason, the Glimmer Wings make the material applied to them brighter than the Wings of Sin do….(at least in this case, I haven’t experimented with all the materials I have available!)
