This is what really makes me mad about how this whole thing ended up. It took them months and months and all those changes and feedback and all of a sudden it's in GU form and out in less than two weeks.

Then to top it off, surprise, surprise older content have suddenly been made more difficult for NO reason whatsoever!! And now they say it was a "toxic" playstyle, well they let that playstyle progression continue from 2012 all the way to now. We've been asking for years for a teleporter to instances to leave levelling players alone but the decided against that since in their eyes it would lower the population and lengthen the queue. What happened to those rationalizations?

Was that all the surprise? NO. What happened to their promise that damage would be equalized or at least be in around the same range. i thought, sure, if everyone had a 10% plus or minus difference in damage, I can deal with that and that would be great. But that's not what came out of this disaster. Again powers are all whacked out and damage is all over the table with some powers being too OP or easy to use.

I'm on my mental with over 300 sp with 202 CR gear with full special forces generator mods and Olympian mods on gear and I've tested over 5 or 6 different combinations and asked leaguemates for rotation advice. I have to keep jumping cancelling around, dumping power like crazy, using consumables and etc.. just to get around 9k/s on a 10 second parser with 3 sparbots and sometimes getting crits of over 11k and then I jump to my Earth toon with 178 sp and cr 195 who probably has t7 gen mods and alpha mods on my gear put Crystal up, debris field and a repeated jackhammer attack over and over with barely losing power and it matches my mental's total damage and damage per second without a sweat. What's the point of grinding out for all 3 OP gear? Getting all those feats?

In the meantime, in the WT, It's like Planet of the Apes with all these big monkeys slamming stupid balls on the ground.

I was really excited about Stats Revamp and it's promise. The choices, the levelling of damage, the ability to choose from your entire power trees. This turned out to be such an absolute disappointment for me. I had thought that with the time they took for this and all those participation from players donating their time to test, they would finally do it right.

    Very Frustrating.

Horrible just horrible telling people to either get better or lose. I want to be able to win without much effort I mean after all isn't that kinda the point?(a power fantasy?) and no I DON'T really care if I deserve that power or not, honestly what you just said really should not be getting that much likes by other players.

Uh yeah (if you're an overpowered freak)

Yeah, its unfortunate that the dev team always runs according to their schedule without prior communication, always.

As for Earth, yeah. I only needed to see one video on Earth and that Jackhammer to know that its Jackhammer ftw.

Unsure about Mental issues. I have yet to log on to my Mental character to see.

Yeah, that they changed PoT to be a range of numbers instead of a fixed number scaling off Vit is going to need some time to get used to.

For some reason, I feel that you didn't read the post my comment was connected to. It was about a run before the revamp. I never saw a 'range' of numbers. Is it a range now?
Because I watched my roommate use his abilities and see a static 88 on his new 30 Munitions tonight.
  7. loupblanc Dedicated Player

I was under the impression that it was a range. Apologies if wrong info given. I have yet to check into my controller powerset characters.

pretty sure the point has never been for the game to turn into an idle grindfest, feeling like clicker heroes. there should always be a level of effort required. otherwise just go watch or movie or something. play farmville or throw beans into a can. i don't understand how anyone would enjoy sitting there watching other players steamroll through all the content for them.

We're in agreement on the frustrating part but I think its important to point out that content hasn't been made harder because its been buffed or we've been nerfed. its harder because we don't know what we're doing anymore. Not every game vet was a superbeast nack in the pre wm/am days. took time to figure things out through a lot of trial and error. We've aso had a couple of years of being used to melting down everything in our paths.

Things will get easier as we figure out what works best where.

also all the gorilla forms makes me want to have more grodd, ultra humanite and giganta in the game.

I didn't want this revamp from the start, Dev's shouldn't be blamed for anything the community should be the ones getting the blame. They wanted changes and they got them, everyone still complaining and will continue to complain after the next change and the next and the next etc.... Last night I decided to give it a try with my alt and did pretty well I thought, but 2 of my league mates kind of bashed me and totally complained because they were both over 300sp with 200cr and I was at 271sp with cr 192 (att) and I topped the dps chart. If the focus point was to balance all powers than in my opinion the Dev's did a great job in doing so. I expected to see huge gaps of damage between players with 300+sp against 270+sp which in this revamp it's not happening. (that's good)

Serious question. I have not yet had enough time with Stats revamp (who has) to judge this, but could it be that content seems harder because the mechanics of the game have fundamentally changed, and since people are still getting used to it, that it is nowhere near as easy to dps to a high level as it was prior? Genuine question (any sarcasm is neither intended or desired).

TBH, the mechanics have not "fundamentally" changed, it's just that most people got so used to the game being really easy due to WM/AM damage bonuses. This revamp brings the game almost right back to where it was pre Origin Crisis, and makes it more of a MMO rather than an online action RPG. It brings back the flow of the game really, no more CR jumping and hand holding. It will take time for everyone to relearn the mechanics of some stuff, and I urge everyone who does play to actually take the time to do so. At the end of the day this is still only a game, and if you feel that it isn't for you, then there are plenty of other options out there.

Their last year long subs sale is about to be completed in September. I wonder if we see another one pop up about the same time as water to get those $$$ in before the "newness" wears off and people leave again.

with just 2 respecs and 15 minutes of reading I figured out Q enough I was fine...I doubt I did it perfectly....and still havent opened my new boxes still using...I guess...obsolescent gear...I am weaker...no AM payoff...but not SO weak it matters

I agree people need to give it time. When I say that the mechanics have changed I am referring to what you need to do in order to effectively play the game. Maybe this is from a DPS centric viewpoint, but for example the much quoted 1234 rinse repeat has been well and truly blown out of the water. In order to comlpete content you have to comlpetely change your playstyle.

I'm sorry, I actually meant that Older content was made more difficult in respect with end game players going into them was an unwanted surprise that was added. Even though it was there throughout test, we all thought the devs were all busy with the powers revamp that it wasn't going to be looked into until the end.

And also, I didn't make the example of Mental Vs. earth to implicate that Mental has issues. I wanted to point out that:
    1) If you want to Max out your damage potential you have to do things like jump cancelling, drinking consumables like it had been in the early days. That is fine but I had thought it would only edge out from a regular rotation by a small, noticeable margin.
    2) Definitely, such as earth, a simple repetitive tap of 1 power should not Over Power a toon with higher gear stats and almost double skill points.

The frustration comes from the fact that one of those was not announced, planned or wanted; and the other was a failed attempt of balancing damage.

Paying customers should raise their voice and complain if they are not happy. How do you think change is brought about?

Im just laughing at the people who say end game players dont feel powerful in lower tiered content. Some of you are doing something wrong because i have had no problem going back and killing everything mightily quick. I feel just fine going back, not weak at all. Some of you just got so used to being in 1 shot god mode you think you aren't powerful anymore because now theres a little effort involved instead of facerolling everything.

Paying and non-paying customers who actually cared have been in these forums, testing and re-testing or at least providing feedback where they could for the last 6-9 months. Players who magically show up after revamp goes Live complaining that it's terrible have very little cred if they weren't willing to contribute to the testing in the first place.
