Devs, currently when you inspect a character it shows a comparison of thier equipment to your equipment. Could you add a stats screen to that as well. It would be nice to know that the dude who just did double my damage in a raid has 2000 more might than me. It would really help players to understand what's happening instead of just screaming "your power is broken" all the time.
Wavedox is a good tool for sure, but I can understand being on the "go" and not having time to perfectly spell the person's name. I wouldn't be opposed to this idea, but truthfully it probably has less to do with stats and more about what power they picked. The only way it would come down to stats is if you were the same power.
Isn't it a little dated? Unless I confuse it with something I think there were used to be suggested feats in there for example. As of now I think http://census.dcuobloguide.com/character/finder is a better tool to check the characters but expanding inspect in the game sure will be a nice thing.
I think that both sites are actually pulling the same exact data. I know that on neither of them does it actually show my gear or mods. There are a few reasons that I would still prefer wavedox over that one. Mostly because whenever I do use wavedox it is on a mobile device, and the layout seems much more compatible then the one above. The second reason would be that it is far easier to remember/type wavedox.com as opposed to that massive URL. Outside of that the only real "advantage" to that website would be the "suggested feats" which is quite useless since (At least in my case) all it is telling me to do is seasonal feats that I cannot do until they're available. On a side note... When I was looking myself up I can see that someone actually stole my name on the EU servers. I literally looked when creating the name and like I assumed there was not one on ANY of the servers. You can tell they just started, but I am baffled at who could be such a loser. I mean they copied it down to every single letter. Wow....
The difference is however that wave don't show the gear at all(unless I'm somehow missing that tab) while bloguide does not show your gear/mods because(as far as I know) census data on daybreak side for gear was not updated, so it does show the gear to some point. The starting url is not that massive ( apps.dcuobloguide.com ) besides I'm pretty sure all modern browsers can bookmark pages. Have you checked the pages at the bottom of suggested feats? If you don't want/can't do those 6 feats, you can always check the next page.
Truthfully it is just a matter of opinion. If you like a bunch of mostly useless and broken stuff cluttering things up then the website you gave is perfectly fine. It is the same with most of the other websites that offer that feature (Like the actual official DCUO one), and sure it will show mods and gear for some things. As you said though, exactly. Wavedox doesn't bother with it because truth is that it is extremely outdated and limited. The majority of the time you are going to get nothing at all which again is why I think it is useless. I even looked up a low level character of mine. Even a level 60's gear does not show up. I will be charitable and say that the gear thing has a 50/50 chance of working. At least for me something that works "sometimes" is not worth my time. The URL that you just gave is not the one you originally gave. Even trying to shorten it down to prove that your opinion is better (Which is a joke in and of itself) all you did was prove that you'd have to navigate through 2-3 other pages to get to where you actually look stuff up. Which again would be more time consuming then necessary. As far as the browsers with bookmarks. Sure they do, and for a PC player that may be ideal. I never said it wasn't. This is the era of laziness all around though, and simplicity is the king of almost everything. I actually use that website you gave quite often for stuff like investigations, briefings, or finding where a style drops. For that stuff it is quite useful, but it almost always is super laggy and some of the stuff is way old/outdated. As far as the feat thing. Yes, I was aware that it will basically populate hundreds of pages of feats that you don't have. For a complete noob it might be a useful utility. For anyone who has a ton of progress they are met with "Do 750 LPVE runs" or seasonal stuff. Yeah, I'll get right on that. Thanks dcuoblogguide! For that stuff I just use the link in my signature on here. I guess the way I could put it is like this. Sure I could go to McDonalds for Burgers, internet, and to use the bathroom just because it has all of them at once. However, I'd rather get my burgers there (Pretend that the burgers are the other useful information that site you gave has on it), get my internet from my cable company (Pretend that is the stats I get from wavedox), and use the bathroom at my house (This is the feats website). At the end I feel like I am getting the best of all three despite the fact that they weren't all in the same place. I don't know what I would compare the "view equipment" page to. I guess a sticky spot on the floor or something like that. In which case I will do without Anyway, we have taken this way off topic from what the OP was posting about. Ultimately we would both be wasting our time continuing to argue about it. All it boils down to is personal preference. A matter of opinion. I was initially just trying to inform you that they both pull their data from the same place, and if wavedox is "outdated' then dcuoblogguide would be considered "ancient" as far as I am concerned. Outside of that we can agree to disagree.
It's not like it shows you blank spaces of equipment on the main character screen. It's a separate tab altogether(which is basically a button), but then again maybe that button is really huge on mobile devices as you said you're primary using those and thats why you're saying it's "cluttering". Prove that my opinion on urls is better or what are you trying to say? I'm not saying that the url is shorter than the wave's one(it obviously isn't) I'm just saying that the starting apps screen url does not look that big if you're concerned of url length. Is it hard to use bookmarks on mobile devices? You're checking "AgainstAllGods" character, right? I guess you're not willing to do pvp feats so the first suggested feat for that character is on the second page - "no mistake" form war of the light 1. No idea where did you get 750 LPVE from(and if you did get that, it means you've done all previous LPVE count feats and that that feat is somehow most achievable through all the people in the game). You can also check feats by categories. They do pull data from the same source, wave just pulls less. Also while it again may not affect you "ancient" bloguide can for example show you xbox characters(even though it still show that xbox got 2 servers) while wave does not know that xbox server even exists. That alone could show you which site is more up to date.
Knowing how much might another player has will do ZERO to help you figure out what they did. There could be a number of reasons that have nothing to do with stats. Having said all that, the most likely answer could be that they've taken an Omega prior to getting into the instance, and have stacks of Nitro colers in their inventory. Neither of those are hard to get, and when you throw in DPS trinkets, you get buffed to crazy levels for clips at a time. However, if somebody is using some kind of glitch, knowing how much might they have is completely useless. Being able to inspect someone's stats directly will bring nothing but abuse from the elitists and wannabe-know-it-alls that are itching to exclude people for stupid reasons. As others in here have said, we already have census apps that can give you that info. No need for them to spend resources that they don't want to spend for a feature only a few will use, that'll affect some people negatively. There's a few things they already "promised" us in the past...i'd rather they work on those before something that useless.
Wavedox was abandoned by its creators long ago...with the exception of the server that hosts the site itself. We're lucky that it's still up for now. I personally prefer Wavedox over Blogspot or whatever it's called because it's faster to pull up on a new device (and easier to remember), it's less cluttered, and is much more Mobile friendly. If I want to know what Feats I need, I just use the feat menu in the game itself.
My point exactly Unless you're using new devices very often and don't use bookmarks I don't see that being an issue. That is still the only solid point. I guess if you'll use such site through mobile device you'll want as little graphic elements as possible. Still it's probably the best thing to test both to find out which one would be more suitable for each person browsing through mobile device. Except the game will not show you the difficulty of the feat (stars are hardly an accurate representation for feat difficulty) but then again maybe just a general list is enough for you, to each their own I guess.
The feats thing isn't working because the devs have not updated the database in quite a while. It's also the reason why Odyssey's calculator doesn't work for item levels when you look up your character. Also, I'm more partial to wavedox because I designed the logo for him. As well as I don't like dcuobloguide. For census stuff, I still use Sore's dcuolive.com.
It does work on the bloguide though, at least with the data that is currently available. That is understandable
I've tried both sites on my phone and tablet...you get info quicker from Wavedox especially if all you're looking for is basic numbers (Might CR SPs) and you want them fast. As for the feat thing, I find the difficulty indicator pretty useless. There have been some very easy feats that people thought were difficult..it just took some understanding of the arcane instructions and people who were half-competent enough to follow suit. In fact, outside of Elite feats, the biggest difficulty in group feats is dealing with a bunch of individuals NOT on the same page. Blogguide was handy when I wanted more detailed info and didn't mind the extra clutter and slower load times.
The thing is it suggest feats based on overall completion in the game so if it suggest you some feats before those "understanding" feats, chances are suggested ones are even easier to get.
I guess. I just go by whatever I need when I need it...particularly if people are shouting for it on LFG or if the whole league is going for it.
