It's not op lol.... The 3 emp loadout is very risky on end game content, and a death results in a loss of damage until stealth is off cool down... If anything, I find it kinda dumb to run the 3 emp load. Anyway, I don't think you truly know what you're talking about. You need to properly test things before making these "its op" comments.

    Nvm. Gadgets not op

I keep it on my Distract spot. GG grenade goes in EMP's spot. A great power to use to ditch stealth when going for that 3rd EMP.

Why do you find it dumb? If I lose BA then I use sodas, supply drop and a controller to keep me going.

The potential for higher damage with EMP III is just that - potential. I am convinced that EMP II will outperform EMP III in actual content, with rare exception. I have been Gadgets since my toon was created and have experimented with stealth. It's just not practical to use in content. It's great on the sparring targets, and I get slightly higher numbers on dummies with EMP III than EMP II, but necessary things like raid mechanics and picking up team members make EMP III not worth the trouble. I'll go so far as to say I don't think someone running with EMP III can out-damage me when I'm running EMP II in endgame content.

They can if their combat time is the same or higher than yours (not less & provided they keep BD up), and if they do as you mentioned and not pick up teammates. Even though it's not on the scorecard, someone's actual combat time is an important factor. Especially on certain boss fights, continuing the rotation will net more damage. Adding BB will provide more burst, and the third EMP registering on the card provides another lead.

If I was the troll watching the dps rapidly drop power cause they are stubborn about a little extra damage, I'd just stop trolling :p
  8. Shifty Committed Player

But what if you are continuously dying, like in SM for example? Will you blame the troll when it is on you for taking the risk, or will you accept responsibility yourself?
  9. Heartsbane Committed Player

I use EMP III at endgame and it always shows significantly more damage out than EMP II. I also do pickups.

I still control frequently. Just because AMs and WM exist doesn't mean that I forgot what it was like before those mechanics. I still expect my controller to not be lazy. Just as I expect to be held at a high standard. Sometimes sh*t happens. Gotta adapt and overcome.

If I am in a position where I'm dying a lot, I'm using EMP II. I'm not a scoreboard chaser. I just want the role that I'm in to be performed at its maximum potential.

Yes, I remember trolling before wm as well, but keep in mind those days had two trolls. There are 3-5 other dps in a raid, so it might sound lazy, but I wont spam my recharge just for one dps, healers and tank are my priority. You will get power no worries, but yeah. At least you know two swap between the emp II and emp III when needed.

Anyway, gadgets is my day one power, I miss it. Going back to it this weekend can't wait :D

Is it because you miss sneaking up on heros in ChinaTown Metro? lol How you been man?
  13. Shifty Committed Player

I can do that with mental but its not as fun xD but I've been good bro, hbu? :)

I don't believe this for one second. The words always and significantly are just wrong. I would be shocked if you could out-damage my EMP II rotation.

I'm using a third EMP and BB. How could I not beat an EMP II loadout?

Ok, so I need some guidance here. I ran BN last night and was out dps'd by a fellow Gadget player 30mil to 16 mil. Admittedly I am new to gadgets but follow The Dark, and everyone else's input meticulously. I found myself using rotation that consisted of CF clipped BD followed by GG and VC Emp Distract and Emp again. Now on test this has netted me the highest dps on dummies. Around 55000/10sec. This guy was using Distract clipped BD Emp followed by Sticky, Gauss, and Foam EMP. We compared gear and skill points and determined that we should be in the same ball park. Though he does have more SP 160(mine)-225(him). I have much better gear with full might VII mods. My Cr 149 and his was 146. I tried using his load out and can't for the life of me replicate his damage. I even had 124 more might than he did. I raise this question because, like most, I want to be the most efficient dps I can. Thanks for any advice.

Edit: Just realized my rotation at the time was BD/Distract EMP followed by GG CF and VC Emp

You probably need to be more aggressive and learn how to "comp." You're telling me this guy is using Sitcky Bomb and sticky bomb does less damage than Vortex cannon. It's not the loadout.

You guys ready for cross platform?

It's possible if you are ignoring mechanics and not picking players up. But still unlikely as your mobility will be significantly hampered by the need to keep BD up when stealth is on cooldown. I can maneuver myself to a more advantageous position constantly with EMP II, hit BD again, and beat you. Guaranteed.

Hello, I haven't Gadget DPS'd since the good ol' "Fear gas jump phase shift photon blast spam days". I'm looking for a easy / good DPS loadout for my villain. People in duos are getting tired of my troll. Could one of you help me out? Thanks in advanced.
