I have used both the earth and sorc dps so i can confirm pets of other powersets get power from battle drone. When i am gadget trolling and i see a sorc dps pop grand summoning, i always pop the drone to give the pets power. The pets have ridiculously small power pools tho and the pets will have full power in 2-3 ticks.

The pets are slightly ignorant of how full their power is and could use all of it right away or just sit full power for 20 or less seconds. The drone is also helpful to earth tanks that use brick. Since if brick has more power to use, brick becomes a bit more sturdy. The robot sidekicks also get power for any dpser that uses one.

I was able to check on brick and crystal. They do get ticks of power.

The burst power ticks didn't register because the pet's power bar was full. So won't be able to check again until I have free time for burst blue heals.

Am i the only one that's noticing that gg doesn't always hit?Especially when it comes to aoe it's freaking annoying.
  4. TheDark Devoted Player

Mine hits. Only time it won't is if the targets are moving too fast. The AoE on Gauss is good but isn't exactly like Napalm's.
  5. Quantom Boy Committed Player

Maybe it's only sparring targets, because when I use it against sparring targets, the number of sparring target it hits isn't consistent. It can it 4, then 6, then 2 and sometimes no sparring targets. But when I test napalm it always hits all 8 sparring targets. I just don't know with gg :/
  6. TheDark Devoted Player

Gauss Grenade has a slightly smaller 360 degree Area of Effect than Napalm. The radius is smaller. That's why you can't hit all the targets in your league base.

Is it bad that i think C-Field should constantly be putting up 1 of our 3 Pi's while its active?

I was in pvp arena and was countered on disract with a block. I didn't use any attacks/powers prior to distract and neither did my opponent.
Is this correct? I've never come across this before in 2yrs using gadgets.
  9. Troll Zama New Player

That shouldn't have occurred. Distract has nothing offensive about it to have gotten you countered. Sounds like the match you were in was just wonky.

    Thought so, thanks.

PvP's been wonky for a while now. Good news is that in GU 47 they have some adjustment's that should make it better.
  12. TheDark Devoted Player

No. I was thinking the same a while back. Just running up to the target and applying the PI can trigger a tag. But idk if they would be able to make it work.

Before Intimidation's DoT came out, I played around with CField and it worked really well in Necro & Artifacts (you know, the raids where everyone was saying Gadgets is OP because we can get into melee range since the content itself was easy & didn't pose a threat to melee players. Just like big poppa mentioned at the time ;). This isn't the case now because well, the content got more challenging with NPC attacks).

Anyway, CField was always a good consistent DPS power. Especially in the T4 days when you could melee everything. When I used it in the Halls of Power DLC I still have to carry a power that wasn't Distract. Now Intimidation's DoT works better. for the simple fact You can apply it from anywhere map with Pdart but you have to closer farther with it with EMP but still farther than CField. With EMP you have to be about 8 meters in game or so. You also benefit from a PROC with it.

So even if CField was made to apply the PI at any time on new targets during the 15 seconds it's up, I would personally still use Intimidation. Then there's also the fact that Intimidation's Proc damage deals more damage than Explosive damage.

For the few Gadget Controllers that are doing Elite, what I did when I beat it was often at times the person shaded would deal damage to the tank or other players and in the process damage them to the point where they would get knocked out. Often that leads the heal to spam power to cast the heals to recover that teammates health which can be done. But with knock backs and everything else going on you can't always rely on it.

More often the tank takes damage because people have the tank pull the totem master to a specific location. There they spam power trying to keep the NPC in the back while using Chronoemitters. Tank pulls don't end in a stun effect and Chronoemitters only last 3 seconds. So requires the tank to constantly use to them which puts him/her in line of sight of taking damage from the stomp.

You can do 1 of 2 things or both. If the tank is the one pulling to a spot. As soon as they pull them to the ideal location, throw your Gauss Grenade or whatever other power you have that ends in a stun effect. If the tank pulls it right away and you stun right away, you'll have about 7 seconds for the shaded person to end the totem master. TM's stay controlled for 8 seconds. It will then break out and start flashing white for 2 to 3 seconds, just throw another gauss grenade after those 2 or 3 seconds and it'll stay stunned for another 8 seconds. That allows for the tank to get back to the adds, hades or just get out of the AoE of the Stomp attack. It's also more effective than Chronoemitters. If the Tank does pop one though, you have to wait until the Chrono emitters wear off after 3 seconds to stun them. This helps in both 2 or 3 tank set ups.

And/or you can go above and beyond and let the tank stay on add duty and the other on hades. This is for 2 tanks. I personally didn't want to put more stress on our tanks. So I took my strengths, and desire to control things :D, and put it to use. What I did was I stayed alert each time I came upstairs and right before banishment. When ever I saw a Totem Master, I shouted his direction, north, east, etc then went to the middle, or close to the middle where it's clear of judges, then I jumped in the air and cast Taser Pull to bring the Totem Master over to either the front gate where you enter, or the west side. Any spot where it's clear of teammates. You have to move fast and make sure the Totem Master is as close as possible to the wall/gate. Pop distract or PDF's as you move out while giving the go ahead to the shaded person to stomp.

Taser Pull will automatically keep the Totem master stunned right after the pull effect which does not occur with tank pulls. Then you can do what I mentioned above. Throw a gauss to keep him there. If necessary, but didn't occur that much which depends on how close it is to the gate/wall, pull them again. The double jumping pull trick works really good to double the distance of pulls. During the raid I ended up using both methods.

The second idea requires more work on the controller's part. Everyone carrying power supers helps, and you regenerating your own power via tier 3 or 4 on weapons like BR works along with vit trinket cycling You give yourself more power to cast. I do not recommend this for players who don't want to do this. I also don't recommend it to people who have difficulty with awareness or communication. This was only done to relieve the tanks in a 2 tank situation and have them focus. Having teammates help out with calling out the location of the totem master helps like "TM at north door" or east door or west door etc. Popping decoy on adds that come out at the east or south door, near your group if you are all there, is helpful in buying the tank reaction time.

    Edited.
I got a league mate's video of a run where you can see what I did. It's at 3:50

Another thing, if you run with new tanks that are just learning the ares fight. You can help them with taser pull and pull the essence to one spot. Or single out and jump pull a bow master to Ares to burn. Theres also popping decoy on the adds that are making the way to the group. popping the decoy will by the tank reaction time.

    Hey,

So how are you guys doing in the Arena (PVP)? Any suggested damage loadouts or rotations? It's easy to get lost in the sea of HL Mental and Rage.
  15. TheDark Devoted Player

I don't do much arenas anymore. It's garbo. I mostly do legends. If i do arena's I'm usually in controller role with dps gear. Sticky, Stasis, Defib for heal, Distract. Sometimes Backflip, Cryofield, or NN. I do it old school. Where's your base entrance at the Lexcorp tower??? I want to leave you a present.
  16. TheDark Devoted Player

I've mostly been controlling in rounds 1 to 10 in SM on the chances I've had to run it. I finally got to dps a round so I recorded the Supergirl & Bizzaro fight only. I went into more detail on what I'm doing in there in the description section on youtube's page.

Yeah you're right. It's no secret arenas is a total mess now, but I've been taking breaks on and off so was just wondering if there was maybe something I've missed or if there was a new development. I refuse to give these guys 10 bucks for power tokens until they fix arenas because it's the only reason I play. I'll just stick with my old school loadout as well.

I haven't had my base at Lex Tower in forever, and how did you know that!? Lol
