The 2 second countdown for the effects to wear off starts when you come out of Stealth. So that's when you use Surprise Attack (Surprise Attack registers). The green cross hair under your name tag will let you know when those effects are off.

just following up on my previous post.

dark, you were right hard rooted ad cannot get pulled and occasionally another mob either. so im guessing what i saw was specific to HoH and the breakout profiles of some ads (it was most likely the forge master ads. cant recall. the days and instances all warp together these days).

Ok, couple more things, does it add a raw 60% crit chance increase (25% + 60% or 25% x 1.60)? Or does it just give you a flat 60% crit chance?

Also does the increased crit chance apply to DoT's and powers cast before stealth was activated?
  4. TheDark Devoted Player

Any attacks you deal while the buff is active benefits from the crit chance buff. That includes DoT ticks. If you cast a dot power than go into stealth, whatever dots went off while in stealth and for 2 seconds coming out of it gets the buff.

For the first question I don't remember. I think it was on top of what we're spec into with SP and mods. That should be easy to figure out on PC with the log analyzer. Just use an ablity that is under 2 seconds.

After I went through Munition's control effects, I went back to make sure I had all of them for Gadgets. It was only a few of them that I needed to add and place the control effects in the correct order from when they register in game.

Intimidation. It was in the patch notes a while back but I never updated it. You can't stun on the PROC anymore. Not even in Controller stance. If I remember right, the patch note also said it wasn't suppose to stun in Damage role but didn't say anything about Controller role.

I also put in more info on Holographic Decoy. Like how often it'll taunt.

How is Gadgets Emp in this new dlc? Is it worth using? I was gadgets until WoTL2 came out then went rage to quantum. Now I wanna go back to gadgets, cause Quantum is way to op and doesn't take skill.and its boring AF

    .My loadout was
Intimidation, Cryofoam, Gauss Grenade,Emp Pulse, battle Display and Fear Gas or Sticky bomb for my sixth power.

Rotation: Battle Display > DW - Explosive shot > Gauss Grenade > Fear Gas(Or Sticky) > Cryofoam > Emp Pulse and then repeat.

Is this loadout still useable? Or maybe any suggestions to something better for AF2 raids?

Tbh, I haven't ran ToTD that much, but in LoLs and HoH, EMP is pretty much okay as long as you know where you are and you're not supposed to be, position-wise.

I use EMP in HoH & LoS. It's only 1 boss in each that I switch to PDart sometimes. In Throne Elite you can use EMP on add phases. on normal you might get away with EMP on Judges and Hades depending on how the group positions. EMP is best used with Intimidation in raids like that because there's alot of health on the NPCs. But you have to get even closer to activate Intimidation's DoT which not everyone can do or have the opportunity to do.

For Elite, I mostly stick to PDart & Intimidation's DoT. No matter what else is altered in someone's full loadout & utilities, PDart is not going to allow for Gadget's full damage potential. But it's pretty good after the PDart & Intimidation buff. The mix of DoT & burst works well on depleting enemy health.

I don't use Fear Gas. I go DW into Sticky Bomb on groups of adds. 1/3 or 1/4 health & i switch to DW to GG. For single target focus, like Hades or Ares, I switch SB for Stasis Field for focus burn. I will add that if someone wanted to scorecard chase, WM to SB, excluding SF, on a bunch of NPCs on the boss will most likely net you higher damage.

Okay thanks for the replies! I think I'm going to toy around with a few loadouts tonight and see what I'm most comfortable with :D

So what seems to be the standard AM rotations for gadgets these days?

I've tried a few things yet damage always seems to be low.
Indimidation -> Battle Awareness -> Gauss Grenade -> Sticky Bomb -> Cryo Foam -> EMP

I'm getting much better results from Weapon Mastery rotations, where it's simply
Intimidation -> Weapon Mastery Combo -> GG -> WM -> Cryo Foam.
  11. TheDark Devoted Player

Standard rotations might work for the other powersets. That isn't how you maximize damage with Gadgets. Or atleast maximize what you can do with something like Pdart. You have to change what you're doing per instance. You also have to know how the scorecard registers numbers.

Are you mixing up both WM & AM? What instances are you running and what's you gear?
  12. Morich Well-Known Player

I have, thanks to armouries, a WM build and an AM build - different powers and skills bought in each build.
Using the bow., though I'm pondering switching to something else. 182 skill points, gear a mix of 99 and 100 (all appropriately might modded).
Like I said, I'm finding my WM build much more effective than AM.

With my AM build, I'm attempting to use the three interactions then EMP tactic though I'm finding it far slower than other powersets AM routines. EMPs range is also not a great factor, to be honest.
  13. TawneeStone New Player

I have 3 basic attack routines I vary between through raids:

    (1) BD-Distract-EMP

    (2) Brawling WM/SB-Gauss Grenade-Cryo Foam/BD-EMP

    (3) Brawling WM/SB

I usually lead off with 1 and keep cycling through 2 until Distract is off cool down, repeat. I try and time SD and trinket when 1 is ready so I can fire off 1 and 2 with the bonuses. I use 3 for squishy adds.

I substitute EMP with PDart for Cerberus and ToTD main bosses.

Outside of Qauantim, this usually nets me top DPS or a close 2nd.

Best crit i've seen so far is with #1, SD and trinket at just over 51k (did not have a soder at the time). This was last night actually. My might is in the 8550 ball park for comparison.

No I meant are you mixing in WM with AM during combat? I ran test before using the combat log analyzer, as well as raids but using what I call intervals, and mixing in both AM & WM during combat will net you more damage than using 1 route.

I have more sp but I'm also a mix of 100, 97, & 99 gear and I keep up with guys who are mostly 99, 100, 101 & have 101 weapons who have all buffed themselves. Depending on variables I beat them or come very close to the point 2nd place doesn't even matter. It's more than just the rotation and loadout but also taking advantage of all the buffs in the game. Also positioning which is key with EMP & Intimidation. If a Quantum guy isn't using the numerous exploits out right now then I'm in range of them keeping in mind NPC health is inflated & excluding some objectives.

I've mentioned stuff like that in the past on here but I keep it limited on the forums. I usually reserve full convos like that for league chats or chats with my limited friends list. Usually because it's more of topic you go back & forth on to really understand.

But anyway, EMP takes 4.7 seconds to set up. So you have to get idea of the health & elimination time of the NPCs in raids you're doing (that'll come from just running the content over & over) so you know which will register high but faster damage.

I personally find EMP's mid range to be perfect. It's the range on Intimidation for the DoT to register that can be trickier to pull off. I could just run EMP & Distract, since its damage is only a slightly lower overall compared to EMP & Intimidation DoT, but for me to really benefit from it I would have to constantly crit. It's like any other ability, you have a chance to crit with it. It isn't guaranteed. Distract combo only works better with lower health npcs.

In something like Throne, I use EMP on the add phases. In normal, I use it on Hades. For the rest of the Gadget guys reading, you'll soon be able to use it on Ares.

    Throne of the Dead
    • Ares will now attack enemies highest on his hate list that stay close to him, instead of just attacking whoever is closest.
I preferred it stay the way it is but I think they did this because of rage melee?

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, right now I have complete different WM and AM builds, though it seems (as you say) a hybrid would work better.

My WM build is intended for solo work, hence the decoy which I find invaluable. Power loadout currently stands as:
    1. Gauss Grenade
    2. Cryo Foam
    3. Intimidation
    4. Bunker Buster
    5. Holographic Decoy
    6. Suppressor Turret

I generally use: Intimidation -> WM -> GG -> CF -> WM (etc etc)

My AM build was built to test Gadgets AM, I've run it a couple of times in raids such as Lockdown and I haven't been happy at all with the results so far. The power loadout is:
    1. Gauss Grenade
    2. Sticky Bomb
    3. Cryo Foam
    4. Battle Awareness
    5. Intimidation
    6. EMP
Intimidation -> Battle Awareness -> GG -> SB -> CF (to set up three PIs) -> EMP.

I am having issues with only having 15 power points to spend, it must be admitted. I would be very interested in hearing what other loadouts people have found to be effective.

In other matters, I'm finding that the bow is great for Controlling with (especially since Bow -> Magnum shot is great for knocking back/controlling crowds). However, I'm finding Bow weapon mastery a bit slow in general and especially so for DPsing.
  16. TheDark Devoted Player

Yea, try it. I think we're one of the few powersets that can mix both in during combat just because of the way our Advanced Mechanic functions.

Your WM build is similar to what I used to use for solos. If you're looking for more damage out from your pet, Robot Sidekick does more damage than our Turret in both near and far range. If you're using the Turret for PI set up or a toon theme then just continue using it.

The loadout you have is exactly the same I use for mobs & AoE. With WM, you'll definitely deal higher damage. You just have to rework the rotation to fit in WM. Like WM into GG or Sticky Bomb depending on NPC health at the time you use that part of the combo. From there you can go onto Foam then GG/SB into EMP. You could also clip EMP with Intimidation after the initial cast of Intimidation.

For single target damage & focus I take out sticky Bomb & put in Stasis Field but I WM into GG.

Others use Stealth and activate Battle Awareness from there. As well as Bunker Buster. Last time I checked though you lose the modifier from Stealth form because that form debuffs you. So timing a supply drop with it could work. Depending on server lag, you might not suffer too bad & you might also fit in the crit chance boost buff from stealth form (you have a 2 second window coming out of stealth for that buff). I personally don't use stealth because of server lag in instances. It's also buggy.

I haven't used Bow since WM first came out. Back then I used it for Bow to MA smoke bomb. When I want to look at the timings & damage per combo for WM I go to this thread. It also has a list of some of the control effects on the combos.
    https://forums.station.sony.com/dcu...eapons-in-dcuo-weapon-mastery-edition.210326/

I use DW to Bow Explosive shot. Some use 2H too but I haven't touched it yet.

Question about battle drone. It gives power to ally's not in your group I know but, I noticed it's ticks go to pets (golem, watcher, fury, etc.) are they actually getting that power? Don't have a sorcery or earth partner to check it out with either, just something I noticed in a PUG.
  18. TheDark Devoted Player

The ticks will go to nearby allies but the big burst tick wont unless they're in your group. I don't know if the ticks and/or burst heal from Drone goes to pets belonging to other powersets. I never tested with them. I can find out but it wont be for 1 or 2 weeks until I log in again.

Gotcha, I may be able to find someone by then.
